Played with Melon for Cardiff Demons Rugby League when we were 17/18 years old. Best tackler ever. We played Hunslet RLFC and he picked up their prop and ran with him for 40 yard before smashing him into the ground. Had some great weekends way trips up to the north of England with him. Total legend !!!!
A long time ago, I was in the check-in queue at Edinburgh airport and FlyBe were trying to sting me for going a kilo overweight on my hold bag. Behind me was Adam Jones in his prime. Ospreys had played Edinburgh a few days prior. I turned around to see one of my favourite rugby players ever, Mr. Jones, in the flesh, and mentioned to the check-in clerk that the man stood behind me was likely three times my weight. Adam gave a quick glance at my 5' 3" frame, 8 stone soaking wet, and uttered, "call it four...", with a broad grin. I did not have to pay for my excess baggage that day. I could have stood inside that man's shadow.
2009 Lions tour. I was swimming off Port Elizabeth and I came out of the water pretty much alongside Adam Jones. I kid you not, he had serious abs. It truly shocked me.
The story about Jones getting kneed by an old head prop reminds me of my colts games. Playing for lydney, we were the only English team to play in the Welsh colts league. Season before I went up we won the league, so that first season of colts rugby was hell in the valleys. Travelling to deepest darkest Wales and just knowing you were getting a pasting from cheap shots. As a second row had to get used to sending some up through in a scrum 🤣 always good craic with the Welsh lads after though
Nonu and Smith have to be on. Greatest ever centre partnership, pairing one of the most intelligent players ever with one of the most destructive players ever. Match made in heaven.

Sleighthome or Barbearry are gonna be man of the match now you left them out! 😂 Such a hard combined 15 to pick. I Have absolutely zero affiliation with either town or club but I cannot wait to watch.
A very ADHD response to stories is to identify with a story of your own. It's not meant to make it a out you but to show tje teller they are listening and get it by recounting a similar experience.
Have to apologies to tinds.. just bumped into him at a local restaurant… Terrible chat, just couldn’t pass the op to say hi and tell him that i love the pod.. soz again big’un
Rugby needs investment. Very few profitable clubs and even those in the green are not generating much. I think it’s a good idea. You would have 8 teams with the best players. The other leagues would remain the same with development players who can be drafted in. No relegation and this leagues funds the others. No impact on the international game, players play less matches. The money must flow down to the grass roots.
2 points: 1) Something needs to happen in the sport to make it financially sustainable and it’s only common sense to look at what is happening elsewhere in the sports world with the investment from Saudi Arabia- doesn’t make it right but a good conversation starter 2) Old theme I know but it doesn’t help that Rugby is split into Union and League, the support is often split between the 2
Without a doubt, they are two of the very best in the game, both technically and emotionally. Completely dedicated and as hard as nails.
We've never really been as good as we were when these two were in their pomp, I'd venture to say.
two of our best and most consistent performers in arguably the toughest positions, great tandem. Miss them heaps in Wales

Great show - loved the work experience as a bear in a cave (how Welsh?!?). Maybe a little older school but Dooley & Ackford would be entertaining?
Not often i squirm at a riding video. Not even the crash at darkfest made me wince, but that, that had me in buts watching
Honestly buttys this podcast needs more views get your marketing team on it
When will Haskell realise its not about him

I had twins in 2011, I had the names ready, Adam & Gethin. Then they spoilt the party by coming out girls 😭😭
Could have had Matthew Rees on as well ... Jenkins, Rees, Jones that's the partnership.
the front-row for the 2009 Lions iirc
anybody disappointed this wasn't Adam and Duncan Jones?
Hair and make up would have been overstretched so they went with Melon instead :D
Came on to hear what Adam and Gethin have to say and someone keeps taking over and interrupting and adding their stories in.
Let the guests speak 🤬🤬
Gethin is my dream man. He’s soooo hot 😍😍😍😍😍 x
Nanu and Smith
Will Haskell just shut up and let them speak.

jeez haskell has to slip in a coke reference every episode, no wonder he talks about himself so much

Absolutely fantastic but do we have to have Haskell spoil it?
See you at tottingham at the final
Manchester Rovers no?
Do we have to endure Haskell's vile language?
Super disappointing... these lads are Legends
Jenkins definitely isn’t a listener 😂
