@@tydieofficial Just watched the full video. It popped up on recommended as soon as I typed my comment. @@Greater726 I hope your LSAT works out. God knows it took me a few tries but it was worth it for the options and scholarships honestly. I hope you get into one of your top choices!
AHHH hahaha I love that! Yes, I have a funny video idea for that announcement I hope to get posted in the next week or two, but my birthday is in a week. I am so excited though for all the future vids and moving. It will definitely be a process!
This is wonderful news. Would kindly like to know the time you applied. I am asking because I would like to send my applications end of November and wondering if that will be late.
I don’t think november is too late at all! I believe the normal timeline advice is any time before thanksgiving is usually considered early. I think I did mine starting in September and worked on some others until November. Yale doesn’t care when you apply tho so feel free to work on that one up until the deadline.
What did you score on your LSAT? And what was your GPA for undergrad? I’m sort of close (yet so far lol) to finishing my bachelors degree. I only need 48 credits left and my plan is to go to law school.
There was another comment on this video asking something similar so if you want more details you can find that but short answer is 173 lsat and 3.95 gpa. Also been out of school so 4-5 years work experience
@@JasmineFossett98 two professors who I had done my theses under and one more recent manager since I have been out of school for 5 years. I just set up calls with all of them and sent them my application materials and resume
I personally did not because I wanted to be able to negotiate scholarships at schools and didn’t want to lock in necessarily but I’ve heard it can be helpful it just gives you less leverage on other fronts for negotiating so it’s a personal choice :)
Hi Tyler, I am a senior taking a gap year to apply next Fall. I'm considering University of Texas at Austin Law School as it would allow me to stay in-state. Did you apply there and what do you think of Texas Law?
Hello! Thanks for your comment. I personally did not apply to UT Austin, but I have some friends/coworkers who went there and they seemed to have positive experiences! It's also a great school so if you want to stay in Texas it would probably be the school I would try to go to. I didn't apply to any schools in Texas because I don't have any personal connections in the state and my partner would have a harder time finding a job there as opposed to LA or NY for his industry. I hope your gap year goes well and best of luck when you apply!
[tdshape[]u+200b @tydieofficial Thanks so much. What resources would you recommend for me? I need to start studying for the LSAT soon, but need one that can be accommodating to blind students.
@ I’m not as up to date with LSAT resources these days. I used Kaplan for the most part and then just did a bunch of practice tests but I’m not sure how accommodating they are. You might be able to contact companies to see if they have accessible resources or LSAC themselves to see if they have recommendations.
Yes! Like in a video or just in comments? Ultimately you can see in this video I was waitlisted at a lot of amazing schools last year so that gave me hope and in my LSAT practice tests I had done better than my previous score so I knew retaking would probably be the most feasible way to improve my stats and application. I also applied WAY earlier. I’ll try and talk about this some in my decision announcement video ❤️ it’s my next one I’m posting
I also plan on making a video going over my PS and stats so I actually might include there since it makes more sense topically but those videos are all coming soon. If you have specific questions feel free to hit my IG or Twitter DMs
Gpa was always 3.95 since I had been out of school. Lsat scores first to was 167 and second go was 173. I have a video going over all my application materials tho too if you want more info
So I’m a reapplication so I reused and redid a lot of my materials from the previous year. But it all depends on how early you want to apply. I’d say the earlier the better and having at least 6 months for lsat prep and all your essays is the minimum I would give myself but everyone is different. The LSAT could be easier for you than it was for me
Hahahaha idk if I’m a genius in any way. I’m posting a video with all my stats and essays in two weeks. I think I just had a consistent narrative and showed consistency.
Hi Tyler, I'm from India not a strong financial background, I want to ask that when should international students apply and like I want to take up medical law so can you give me some tips for I could get accepted in key universities
Heyyo. I am not familiar with the intricacies of international applications so can’t provide super detailed help. I will say most law schools are rolling admissions which means the earlier you apply the more seats will be open. I wouldn’t sacrifice quality for earlier applications but if it’s possible to get your goal test scores and materials in early as long as they are high quality that should help. I also didn’t look at any medical law programs specifically but I’m sure you can try and target schools known for that though I imagine it’s a pretty specific practice area.
Thank you! I went to university of San Diego. Idk if it’s even a top 100 university tbh LOL I didn’t look at undergrad rankings really when I chose a school but it had small class sizes and seemed like a good fit so that’s why I went there
@@AlexG-oo8kt thank you! And yes I used the cumulative GPA LSAC calculates so it should have already been adjusted however they do that lol and I’m so grateful for the progress from that test and so glad it’s done. It’s so weird being in real classes now lol
@@tydieofficial that’s amazing, congratulations on your journey, you’re incredible. I currently have a 168 LSAT and garbage GPA of 2.7. I’ve been in the military for several years since college and applied late this cycle. I’m debating applying next year or my best bet may be to just get into a decent law school, do well and use my 1L success to transfer. Any suggestions?
@@a.ghobrial1092 thank you 🙏 yah it was quite the journey and I also took an extra year and am very happy I did so but it all depends on your personal situation and goals. I’m not very familiar with transferring but I will say it probably depends on where you go and how their grading curve works as well. I imagine it would be difficult to try and compete with your peers on a forced curve to transfer but I’m sure someone in admissions at your desired schools could answer that better. Or if they have a transfer student organization you could reach out to. For me the extra year to retake and reapply helped but it also gave me an extra year away from the impacts of Covid financially so I’d say do whatever research you can
Yah 173 LSAT and 3.95 LSAC GOA. My most recent video goes into an overview of my entire application including LSAT and GPA and essays if you want further info 😁
Hey Tyler, so happy for you and love your journey. Would you ever be able/willing to show your resume or essay to give prospective queer applicants like me a concrete example of what college admissions may be looking for ? 🙏🏻💖
Hey Anthony! Yes I can do that! Currently in my video pipeline I have the following queued up: - Announce where I'm attending - A video on scholarship negotiations and how I used offers to negotiate - Video on my materials :)
Congratulations. If possible, I suggest avoiding Claremont between 122nd and 125th. And watch out for younger students or student aged people hanging around campus from developing countries who claim to be your long lost second or third cousin, etc.
I posted on my IG I think months later but Stanford eventually did get back to me with a rejection months after all the acceptance deadlines were over 😂 no surprise there
I’m very grateful at the options I had and am happy with my choice. I’ve met some amazing people and gotten to participate in programs I was excited by so overall I’d say I’ve had a good experience. 😊

@@tydieofficial Hiiiii!! Leaning towards Cornell for sure, but still trying to be open-minded to waitlists and a couple schools I haven’t heard from yet. 🤷🏼♀️
OMG lol I definitely had a stress moment and wanted to make sure I had a local backup option but honestly once I got into UCLA I regretted giving LSAC an additional $45 for them to send a report
Stats aren’t always the deciding factor. I’d definitely say it will probably be more difficult but if you have amazing letters of rec and a really good narrative it’s possible! And honestly who knows what admissions is looking for. Maybe schools will be less stat focused now that they’ve withdrawn from the us ranking as well. Might be worth a peak on lsdata or something similar to see if anyone with similar stats has been admitted to those schools previously. Best of luck!!

@@tydieofficial Thank you for your response. It is very helpful.
@@tydieofficial who did you go to for letters of recommendation?
@@JasmineFossett98 two professors who I had done my theses under and one more recent manager since I have been out of school for 5 years. I just set up calls with all of them and sent them my application materials and resume
Great video! Did you apply Early Decision at Columbia? Just wondering if that helps much.
[tdshape[]u+200b @tdieofficial Thanks! I'll look into it. KhanAcademy, Kaplan, and Law-Hub are my best friends right now.
this video gives me hope. Can you talk about what made decide to reapply? And what was the difference between year 1 and year 2?
What was your GPA and LSAT scores the first and second time
Gpa was always 3.95 since I had been out of school. Lsat scores first to was 167 and second go was 173. I have a video going over all my application materials tho too if you want more info
can i ask how early you started preparing to apply to law school? also congrats on your acceptances
So I’m a reapplication so I reused and redid a lot of my materials from the previous year. But it all depends on how early you want to apply. I’d say the earlier the better and having at least 6 months for lsat prep and all your essays is the minimum I would give myself but everyone is different. The LSAT could be easier for you than it was for me
Omg, u are so organizer. First the spread sheet, now this?
I think you'll be going to Columbia!!! If you do see you in the fall
OMG! that would be amaze!! 🥳
What was your LSAT and GPA?
173/3.95. I have another video that goes over my entire stats and essay materials if you want more info.
You must be genius I am sure. Congrats, I would have picked Berkley if you want to practice in California. California Bar is insane at another level.
You said in another video you took your LSAT twice. What were your scores?
Yes my first lsat was 167 and my final lsat was 173.
Hi! Just wondering, where did you go for undergrad? Also congrats on all the acceptances!
Thank you! I went to university of San Diego. Idk if it’s even a top 100 university tbh LOL I didn’t look at undergrad rankings really when I chose a school but it had small class sizes and seemed like a good fit so that’s why I went there
What was the GPA and LSAT score you applied with this round?
3.95 gpa (double major in communications and religious studies). I also graduated from my undergrads honors program. And a 173 LSAT
@@tydieofficial Bravo!!! Is that gpa on the 4.33 LSAC scale?
I watched your LSAT journey from your diagnostic and that progress is huge, congrats!!!
@@AlexG-oo8kt thank you! And yes I used the cumulative GPA LSAC calculates so it should have already been adjusted however they do that lol and I’m so grateful for the progress from that test and so glad it’s done. It’s so weird being in real classes now lol
@@tydieofficial Can't wait for the Columbia vlogs haha
Do you have tips for law school interviews and what they entail?
Honestly if you google law school interviews I think 7 sage has an entire overview of how different schools do their interviews which is great
What were your stats last year vs this year? Total 180
My most recent cycle stats were 173/3.95. Gpa was obviously the same but last year I believe I had a 167 when I applied
For me the extra year to retake and reapply helped but it also gave me an extra year away from the impacts of Covid financially so I’d say do whatever research you can
@@tydieofficial thank you for your advice , good luck in school
Where can how did you study for LSAT?
I have some other videos on my channel that go over my lsat study resources I used and my experience with that :)
Hoping you're going to Columbia cos I'm awaiting a grad school result from NYU 🌈
I hope you hear back from them soon!! And I’m posting my announcement video either today or tomorrow!
What was your gpa? That is a lot of waitlists
3.95 and the last two years of admissions have been some of the most competitive so 🤷🏼♂️ I’m happy with my results
did u end up going to law school??
Unfortunately 😭
CONGRATULATIONS!!! btw, Is your father the famous Texas Personal Injury attorney? If it's is .. 😎
LOL no I’m a first gen grad and law student
can you share your GPA and LSAT?
Yah 173 LSAT and 3.95 LSAC GOA. My most recent video goes into an overview of my entire application including LSAT and GPA and essays if you want further info 😁
Hey Tyler, so happy for you and love your journey. Would you ever be able/willing to show your resume or essay to give prospective queer applicants like me a concrete example of what college admissions may be looking for ? 🙏🏻💖
Hey Anthony! Yes I can do that! Currently in my video pipeline I have the following queued up:
- Announce where I'm attending
- A video on scholarship negotiations and how I used offers to negotiate
- Video on my materials :)
Is your dad Mr. Thomas Jude Henry?
I have no idea who that is 😬
@@tydieofficial prominent well known Tx attorney that’s super rich I just thought you were following in his footsteps, thought you were his son lol
@@iFrankie. that’s funny! Haha no I’m not from Texas and first in my family to go to law school. That’s great for him though! Getting that bag 😂
@@tydieofficial yea he’s from my hometown San Antonio & donated a ton to the community and state
what are your stats?
I have a video that goes over all my stats and application materials if you want in depth info. But my baseline gpa was 3.95 and 173 lsat
Congratulations. If possible, I suggest avoiding Claremont between 122nd and 125th. And watch out for younger students or student aged people hanging around campus from developing countries who claim to be your long lost second or third cousin, etc.
What were your extracurriculars& internships?
Ummm I’ve been out of school for 5 years so it was more just work experience
it should be illegal to take someones money and never get back to them. there should be a law where they hv to give u that money back.
I posted on my IG I think months later but Stanford eventually did get back to me with a rejection months after all the acceptance deadlines were over 😂 no surprise there
@@tydieofficial damn. Glad u got into where u got into tho! Good job! Hope it’s going well!
I’m very grateful at the options I had and am happy with my choice. I’ve met some amazing people and gotten to participate in programs I was excited by so overall I’d say I’ve had a good experience. 😊
@@tydieofficial that’s awesome!! Great job!!
Hello. I'm matriculating in 2023! I also got in there with some T14s hehehe. I don't only go for that though. I want something that feels like home. HMU someday. I have Blue eyes too. We are both lawyers and I have a ton of technology information but they only like certain types of people so MAYBE. I have to interview some clients. SO MAYBE. Anyways HMU haha

Why USC? Ewww...lol
OMG lol I definitely had a stress moment and wanted to make sure I had a local backup option but honestly once I got into UCLA I regretted giving LSAC an additional $45 for them to send a report
Seems fake
Lol 😆
USC would be my last choice, it's in the middle of a ghetto, really dangerous area. UCLA beautiful wealthy location, safe!!
Can a URM with a 154 and 3.6 GPA get into HLS or YLS or any T14 for that matter or am I wasting my time applying?
Stats aren’t always the deciding factor. I’d definitely say it will probably be more difficult but if you have amazing letters of rec and a really good narrative it’s possible! And honestly who knows what admissions is looking for. Maybe schools will be less stat focused now that they’ve withdrawn from the us ranking as well. Might be worth a peak on lsdata or something similar to see if anyone with similar stats has been admitted to those schools previously. Best of luck!!
Congratulations!!!!!
Thank you 😊
What were your stats?
3.95/173
