The reason they didn’t give us a name is most likely because it’s too big of a giveaway to the game

Breath of the Wild: Zelda Freakin' Dies, coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2022!
There's one thing Miss Click pointed out that I didn't catch. His hair makes him look like the hero from 10,000 years ago. With the outfit he's wearing at the beginning he also looks like the same hero from the tapestry. Who knows if this is tied to the story, or it's just an outfit to unlock in the game. What's interesting to me is we didn't see magnesis or the ice rune, so it looks like time manipulation is a key feature in this game.
People have pointed out that Link's hair was already that long, it was just tied back by default and when wearing most of the headgear. You can see it if you look at the back of his head when he's wearing one of the amiibo-exclusive Divine Helms.
I'm not crying, my eyes are just wet for no particular reason. 🥺❤️

We waited 2 years for another trailer to Breath of The Wild 2 and this did not disappoint! This game looks amazing and I can’t wait to experience playing with all of Link’s new abilities and explore the latest environments that look absolutely phenomenal!

I have a hypothesis about that game (with possible spoilers).
In the first trailer, we had, in the music, an effect of reversed music. We could listen to it in the voices. Some people thought there was here an easter egg. We have the same effect in that trailer. For me, it symbolise time travel. Reversing music, is like playing with time, going from the ending to the beginning, from the present to the past. We can see in the trailer an ascending water drop, like you saw it. Maybe we could play with the time.
I'm just glad it seems like whatever they're doing with time is deeper and more complicated than "egg guardian make time portal and call friends." Don't get me wrong, AoC was a good game, but the story had some serious flaws in my opinion, and I'd like to see what the base Zelda team would do differently with time travel concepts right now.
The first botw got delayed because two things
- 2017 the release of the switch, they need a killer apps
- The first HD game from nintendo, nintendo need time to optimize the game and erased some code related to wiiU, cause the mechanic that you can touch the map on the gamepad has been gone.
This time, nintendo has perfected the engine, all the asset has completed, so it is make sense the game is much more faster in production
If you pause the trailer directly in 00:46 you can see how the shield breath fire through a dragon head in it. Probably each or certains shield brings habilities according to the design in it.
And in 00:55, Link is looking to the southwest, that view shows Hyrule Ridge just down there, you can almost see where Tabantha Stable is supossed to be, next to the Tanagar Canyon; Gerudo Highlands is at the end of the image. So... Link is on that floating island probably at some point over Ludfo's Bog or Ridgeland Tower.
I don't think Zelda's falling, given the focus of the game I think she's actually being pulled into the sky. But the angle makes it look like she's falling.

It doesn't mean she's dead either. She could even still be a companion to link in the game as well.
She’s falling underground. Present-day Link will go after her so we see him fighting bosses underground in the teaser. Then we have Ancient Link (with Zonai gear) from 10,000 years ago in the sky world. I think we’re going to be between the two worlds.

my guess is the puddles of water shown are scattered all over current Hyrule that send link into the past, up and through the floating islands that's why he looks different and you can't see the islands in the footage on the ground

The water droplet going in reverse…the music in reverse….Link’s rune that reversed time on that spiked ball….the fact that Bill Trinen said they weren’t revealing the name because it would give something away….this game is very obviously going to have a big focus on time travel/manipulation. Now I’m starting to wonder ifs title makes it clear this game connects to Ocarina of Time in some way. I would LOVE something exploring the downfall timeline and the Hero of Times defeat. And by extension, I’d love confirmation of this games timeline placement!

Yes, I saw a speedrunner mention recognizing the view, and looking closely it is indeed directly above Hyrule Ridge looking south toward the Gerudo Highlands. Interestingly, the shrines are missing. Even more interestingly, everything else is EXACTLY the same. No big holes where islands rose from the ground or anything.

The more I think about it, the more I think there is some sort of time travel involved. In the unused concept art, we see a Link missing an arm, with long hair and a face that appears to be bandaged. Kind of reminds me of "the hero" as you mentioned.
Ok, hear me out. The zombie looking dude is the BOTW version of Ganondorf. Link loses his arm, Zelda “dies” and the Master Sword is destroyed, along with all Sheikah technology. All appears lost. Then Link’s ancient Zonai ancestors visit him, repair his arm and send him on a quest to gain the Zonai versions of the Sheikah Slate abilities to set the timeline right again. Or… maybe it’s the other way around. What if Link doesn’t get visited by his ancestors, but travels back in time to them instead? That would explain the two different Links we see here and gives us a two worlds mechanic like in Link to the Past 😯
I genuinely hope this game gets super weird and embraces that Majora’s Mask vibe.

In my opinion there are 2 Links: the one of botw is trapped by Ganon as the first scene suggest, after that the old hero of Hyrule(that has the arm, his clothes, the triforce power and the long hair(not the master sword because is in the underground with the other link)) descends from the sky(like in the first sky scene) to save Link and Zelda, called in the future(of back from the haven) by "something" not clear.
You can see a bit of the master sword in one frame when his arms are being devoured by the malice

I think that zelda was holding the sheika slate when she fell and someone in hyrule gives link the arm, im thinking Purah or Robbie. They put the runes in his robo arm, thats why you can see him using stasis towards the spiky ball. Maybe we will get new abilities like going through the walls in the trailer. Wonder if there are shrines though, to make the gameplay longer.

not only is it going to be in the sky, but also underground!! there will now be craters where these landmasses now in the sky used to be; they are surely waiting for a later trailer to show underground gameplay, which may be where all the dungeons are.
Maybe Ganon does take links arm at that point and uses it to make dark link. I'm also guessing he aims for his arm to take the master sword from him.

Dude! links outfit does match the hero from the tapestry in BOTW!!!!! as well as the green arm. i think the arm has the power to turn back time, as you can see in the trailer, the water, and the spike ball. It also gives me hella Zonai tribe vibes!!!!

The master sword is there in the beginning when Link gets hit with the malice
The thing about the Master Sword is that most of what we saw in this trailer was _gameplay,_ and you don't see the Master Sword all the time in gameplay even when Link has it, because he has other weapons equipped. People are definitely making too much of a big deal about that part.

Watching you shit yourself put a big old smile on my face, because I had the same reaction! No game has ever resonated with me the way that BOTW did and it looks like the sequel will be just as awesome 😊
Theory: Zelda dies from the fall (which is why we see Hyrule in disaray when the castle is uplifted by malice) and Link loses his right arm from the Malice. Link then spends the next several years with tremendous guilt and rage and the game centers around Link avenging Zelda.

What if they just call it Breath of the Wild and have everyone confused. Looks like the Shiekah Slate fuses with Link. I hope the Sky and Ground are more connected than Skyward Sword.
No I’m pretty sure the arm is an entirely different entity and link no longer has the sheikah slate because Zelda was holding onto it when they got separated

I have a feeling replaying Skyward Sword might actually be worth it. Aonuma emphasized how they are focusing on the skies. I bet you anything they are clearly "Link"ed in more ways than just Zelda lol. I'm absolutely certain of it. It can't be coincidence that they r releasing Skyward Sword and then Botw 2 has to do with the skies. 😱💜

Hey, what if these sky areas have been hidden/veiled behind the clouds of Hyrule this entire time, just chilling inside of them? If so, what if, since clouds are constantly forming, breaking apart, and merging, the temple areas change positions daily or even combine with other temples to make a new, big one? This game is making me TOO excited! Also, that rendition of Zelda's lullaby at the end was using the same classical eastern tune as the 3 dragons in BotW, and remember that they always part for the holy realm after they finish their flight every day. They form a vortex and it dissipates behind them. What if those dragons are the key to accessing these skyward areas??

You & your reaction are so cute ☺️ I think too that there are two differents main characters on this game : Link of BOTW and the hero with long hair (that we see on the paint in BOTW). Maybe the first is going to the past to change somethings and the second to the future alter the rise on the sky of the castle and a part of Hyrule (sorry for my bad english i’m french ^^)
That's quite a dramatic theory, I personally doubt that they would do something so unconventional but it would certainly be interesting!
My prediction is that if they don’t have the name by the end of these year that means it’s gonna take longer … remember they have the name ready in 2016 and they have the game out for the March 2017 … but these I think it’s gonna be ready by March of 2023

I can't believe I didn't put it together that Link's hair matches that of the ancient hero. That kinda makes me think the title may have something to do with prophecy, or if it'll really drive home the idea that Link is the reincarnation of that hero.
What if the mechanical arm allows Link to purge the Malice from the Guardians? And the game ends up fulfilling that story of Zelda and the hero along with the Guardians pushing back Ganon and the Malice for good?

Let's all think about this, what if this botw 2 game is the story that impa told us about that happened over 10000 years ago and showed how the hero and the goddess along with the champions and guardians stopped ganon of old now that would be a full circle of a storyline, I wouldn't put it pass Nintendo to surprise us with this, look at the outfit of link flying well falling flying and go back and look at what the hero is wearing in impa story of 10000 years ago it would explain ganon under the castle and the history of how it started for botw story
It's not Link!! it's the freaking hero from 10,000 years along, that happened to be a member of the Zonai tribe!!! I'm almost sure that the present Link, since he loses his right arm due to the malice, will have to learn how to use the "prostetic" green arm from memories or, time traveling, to the times of the ancient hero.. So he can seal ganondorf similarly lik he was in the past by the same hero!
