This is so trivial, but I love how Rhett and Link have positioned themselves so it appears they are actual speaking to each other in person. It’d be funny if the camera moved back to reveal they are at the same table and same room but with different backgrounds.
It would be cool to do something like that for the first episode back at the studio... Make it look like they're at home, then zoom out and they're together.
Eh, I don't really think that's true. Get Out? Back To The Future? These are all just personal preferences. Sure, he picked classics too like Oz and Pulp Fiction, but it's all being true to his heart too I think.
Rhett and Link have so much more of a brother vibe than a best friend vibe, they don’t try to force anything or claim they know every single detail about each other and after all the years they have been friends they’re still always so genuinely interested in what the other has to say - ugh gives me all the feels just love it!
#earbiscuits I am quarantined and live alone. I just discovered you at the beginning of the world time out. Since then, I have been listening and watching all kinds of your content. Everything from Buddy System, Ear Biscuits, and the regular GMM. It feels like having friends in my house even though it is just me. Thank you!
I wholeheartedly agree with Link about Wes Anderson films; The Darjeeling Limited is my favourite, but death (and learning to let go) is one of the main themes of the story, and that of course carries a certain weight with it. It never fails to make me both laugh and cry, but I always come out on the other side feeling renewed and a little better for it. His movies evoke a very clean form of melancholy, I think. Thanks for another great EB! It made for a nice break from the world this week! 💕
@transylvanian I have watched this clip before and agree that it is not without some problems, but that doesn't mean I can't get something out of it. The way the brothers use the location and culture as a backdrop is one of their many flaws in my opinion, like Jack's relationship with Rita and her being perhaps more of a plot device for him than a person as an example. That being said, it still stands as my favourite Wes Anderson movie. I haven't seen one by him yet that isn't at least a bit pretentious, so I feel you there lol. I personally feel like it is possible to be critical of something but also enjoy elements of it, like watching any classic Disney movie for instance. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. :)
I can understand both sides of it, its an endearing and quirky film, but also has a pretentious heir about it that you kinda can't escape in Wes Anderson films. But! I believe Darjeeling Unlimited is quite self-aware when it comes to the cultural backdrop and elements that become secondary to a group of ignorant, privileged, American brothers. It's kinda poking fun at the complete disregard for a different culture, while also being apart of the problem at times. But I think what @Jaime B said about a "clean form of melancholy" when it comes to the sad themes in Wes's films really hits the nail on the head. Like it doesn't feel like it's trying to tear you apart, but it unintentionally relates to you in a way that has you in tears. Anyways idk, I have lots of thoughts on his films and was happy to share them with a fellow enthusiast!

Couple of my favorites: "Fargo" - don't ch know and "Django Unchained" (Jamie Foxx and especially Christolf Waltz are great). Here are a couple oldies: "Forbidden Planet" and "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the original). Both of these gave me nightmares as a kid.
The day the earth stood still gave me nightmares even though I haven’t seen it. What scared me was the dvd cover, the thing on it was silver and it looked like a robot. In my night mare we were at my elementary school ( I’m in middle school now) and this thing abs running around and hitting people on the head, and when it did it to me it was painful, then I woke up 😅
My cousin Brady is IN Napoleon Dynamite!!! He grew up in Preston Idaho and then was best friends with Jared Hess' younger brother. He is in the scene where he says "Do the chickens have large tallons?" There are two kids standing with Napoleon at the Old Farmer's house and he is the one in the green shirt and there is a close-up of him eating a hard boiled egg.
During quarantine, I have been listening to ear biscuits none stop... I just listened to the one about your London trip and the one asking if your careers peaked... and I am working my way back to when I first started listening (only about a month or two ago)
Haven't gone to bed yet, so I get to watch! Link, I watched some of your Playlist last night. You were hilarious! You guys sort of remind me of me and my twin sister. It's a similar friendship/dynamic. New fan here!
I just found them a few months ago. I have seen quite a few. Search Cotton Candy Randy. That'll get you some funny ones. Search Damnyell. Hilarious, too.
@@samordna7808 It's 10:30 pm now. Gonna try to NOT be an insomniac again tonight. Wish me luck. I still like Rhett's hair. (I'm still pro beard-trim!) I'm just glad Rhett is doing Rhett. Do what makes you happy. 😴
Narrowing down to 10 movies is quite hard because you always like different movies for different reasons. Some might just be cinematically better, some you emotionally bonded with.
Thanks for sharing your ten favorites guys. Keep doing what you're doing. My top ten (as of now and in no particular order) - Inherent Vice - The Lego Movie - Playtime - Mad Max Fury Road - Man with a Movie Camera - Tokyo Godfathers - Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - Who Framed Roger Rabbit - Knives Out - A Prairie Home Companion (2006 Altman film) Honorable Mentions: Boyhood, Boy and the World, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Kung Fu Hustle, The Long Goodbye, McCabe and Mrs Miller, My Neighbor Totoro, The Straight Story, Where the Wild Things Are (2009)
I love that they watch so many films with their kids. Some of my best memories are watching Lord of the Rings with my dad and hiding behind the sofa for the Shelob and Nazgul scenes
Red Letter Media makes fantastic content. It's always great seeing Mike & Jay banter about celebrities and films. I can't recommend that channel enough. Keep it up bros!
I’d say mine, in no particular order, are Napoleon Dynamite, Wayne’s World, Heathers, Lethal Weapon, The Shining, The Godfather part 2, Dog Day Afternoon, Clueless, An American in Paris, and maybe Kill Bill tbh
I just want to say I go back and rewatch this earbiscuits all the time because I love hearing people rank things especially you guys. So I would love if you ranked more things likes books or tv shows.
One of my all-time favorite movies is What Dreams May Come, and I'm also a huge David Lynch fan. His Dune movie was amazing, although I'm definitely excited to see what Denis Villeneuve does. He did a superb job with Blade Runner 2049.
I was SO wondering if either of them would mention What Dreams May Come!!! Especially with their recent revelations about their spiritual journeys... I love that movie!!! Not just for Robin Williams, who will forever be the ultimate entertainer, but for the way it bridges personal "faith" with all the different elements of organized "religion". AMAZING... :)
Back to the Future, The Departed, Jaws, Slumdog Millionaire, Goodfellas, Gladiator, Good Will Hunting, Jurrasic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Raiders of the Lost Arc
I think the TV show Spartacus that used to be on Starz tv back around 2010 was actually better than the Gladiator movie, in terms of that specific category of movie.
OMG i was watching at the edge of my seat, waiting for RHETT to say pulp fiction, but the fact that the BOTH of you listed MY favorite movie as number 1...u guys dont even know how much more this makes me love you!
that was a cool movie. I forgot about it! Watched it a lot as a kid. It has such a great set and the fact that cartoons and people were interacting with each other. Definitely memorable.
Enjoyed both of your top tens! A few of your choices are, also, in my Top 10. My Top 10 is the following: 1.) The Professional 2.) Pulp Fiction 3.) Back to the Future 4.) Tombstone 5.) Gladiator 6.) Episode IV:The Empire Strikes Back 7.) The Crow 8.) The Wedding Singer 9.) Smokey and the Bandit 10.) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Parasite, Lord of the Rings, The Conjuring, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mean Girls, Shawshank Redemption, Titanic, Inglorious Bastards, Ex Machina, Harry Potter
The Conjuring and it's connected universe is awesome. Vera Farmiga is my favorite part, and the elevator scene in the first Annabelle is one of the only scenes that really get under my skin lol. I still have memories of seeing pirates of the Caribbean with my grandpa when I was a kid, I think it was one of my first theater experiences. I dressed as Jack Sparrow for halloween atleast 3 times as a kid. Shawshank is awesome but I can't watch it without getting deeply depressed, "Brooks was here" wrecks me... Ex Machina is such a cool film, some of my favorite performances from Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander. For such an unsettling movie it does have one of the best dance scenes of all time. And apparently I was named after Jack from the titanic, so I guess I have to like the movie lol This is a really cool top 10. I like the variety. I'm such a movie nerd, I feel like if someone can narry down all the movies they love to around 10, that those movies inexplicably say something about who that person is. It definitely rings true for R&L lol
Jack M hey I really appreciate that comment!! I totally agree with everything you said haha. These movies definitely impacted me in a huge way and I could rewatch any of them! It feels good to relate to people’s top 10 because like you said it gives you an essence of who they are.
So many of Rhett's Top 10 Movies are my top 10 movies. I love the amount of thought and research he put into his choices. I also love that Link shared the year that his favorite movies came out.
That had such a great premise and some good LOLs. It's very cult-classic though, I know heaps of people who hated it. The other one I'm not sure if they've seen but I think they'd enjoy based on the other movies in their top 10s is The Men Who Stare At Goats - that tickled my Coen Brothers bone.
As soon as Link said "2014" and then "Marvel", I knew he was gonna talk about _Guardians,_ which makes me incredibly happy because that movie was my favorite ever for a solid 4 years (until _Infinity War,_ of course), and it still remains in my top 3. Just an incredible film, and I'm glad they gave it recognition.
@ff eater Well I happen to love listening to them ramble. Its rarely a struggle for me. But that might just mean I like these guys a little too much, lol
Jurassic Park is my #1. I was not allowed to see it in theaters. I have watched it more times than any other movie. For the 25th anniversary, I was able to see it in 3D in theaters. I love that movie so much, that experience made my life feel complete and I can now die happy.
Random quarantine thought, do each of you have a tennis ball on a stick or some other such magical spot to look at when you're "pretending " to look at each other while speaking? thanks for all the entertainment and inspiration during these crazy time. don't know either one of you, but love you both.
Blast From the Past, Back to the Future, Breaking Away, Forrest Gump, The Princess Bride, Shawshank Redemption, True Lies, Notting Hill, Signs, Jaws. Honorable mentions: Slum Dog Millionaire, It’s a Wonderful Life, That Thing You Do, Napoleon Dynamite
Dang coming from watching GMM for several years, I love swing their more mature side on Ear Biscuits. I'm a big movie lover and I am so happy to hear that we have such similar taste in movies. Like damn, Pulp Fiction has been my favorite movie for years now. Practically ever since I first saw it back in high school. And now to heat that it's their favorite movie warms my heart ❤❤
Can you do an episode that talks about how you produce videos? How many you film in a day, how far in advance, the role of the crew and writing team, etc? Maybe a week in the life of mythical entertainment!
i do not feel like anyone is really only listening to the podcast now on Spotify because you got to see it now since the out break and stuff you know ?
My ten. 1. Taxi Driver 2. The Lighthouse 3. Synecdoche, New York 4. Mad Max Fury Road 5. The Piano Teacher 6. Birdman 7. Harakiri 8. La Haine 9. Fight Club 10. There Will Be Blood
An underrated gem, which happens to be my favorite movie of all time (alongside some Wes Anderson and Tarantino films), is 'The Fall' by Tarsem Singh. The most beautiful cinematography I have seen in my life, and the kicker is- no CGI at all! Combined with a heartfelt story, I just fell in love with the characters. Seriously guys, give it a watch. So underappreciated.
I always watched The Wizard of Oz with my mom every year. Rhett and Link, if you guys haven't seen the TV biopic The Dreamer of OZ, I highly recommend it.

Hey guys: Just make some movies already. Just look at Kevin Smith. You don't need a studio. Just do it.
ikr?
During quarantine, I have been listening to ear biscuits none stop... I just listened to the one about your London trip and the one asking if your careers peaked... and I am working my way back to when I first started listening (only about a month or two ago)
The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie ever. I was so hoping to see it mentioned here. Thanks for the validation.
Just hearing these guys talk about anything just brings me peace. Please don’t ever stop making these ear biscuits
I would love to have them break it down to top 5 in specific genres. Enjoyed this immensely!
these two are seriously role models man i love em. good guys keep up the good work
Haven't gone to bed yet, so I get to watch! Link, I watched some of your Playlist last night. You were hilarious!
You guys sort of remind me of me and my twin sister. It's a similar friendship/dynamic. New fan here!
u commented on Rhetts hair last time..so zzz
I just found them a few months ago. I have seen quite a few. Search Cotton Candy Randy. That'll get you some funny ones. Search Damnyell. Hilarious, too.
@@samordna7808 It's 10:30 pm now. Gonna try to NOT be an insomniac again tonight. Wish me luck. I still like Rhett's hair. (I'm still pro beard-trim!) I'm just glad Rhett is doing Rhett. Do what makes you happy. 😴
@@gardenlover9663 Will do. Thanks!
Ok boomer
Narrowing down to 10 movies is quite hard because you always like different movies for different reasons. Some might just be cinematically better, some you emotionally bonded with.
Elf is the only Christmas movie my family has ever bought on amazon video. We watch it every year. Still as funny as the first time I saw it.
Thanks for sharing your ten favorites guys. Keep doing what you're doing. My top ten (as of now and in no particular order)
- Inherent Vice
- The Lego Movie
- Playtime
- Mad Max Fury Road
- Man with a Movie Camera
- Tokyo Godfathers
- Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit
- Knives Out
- A Prairie Home Companion (2006 Altman film)
Honorable Mentions: Boyhood, Boy and the World, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Kung Fu Hustle, The Long Goodbye, McCabe and Mrs Miller, My Neighbor Totoro, The Straight Story, Where the Wild Things Are (2009)
I love that they watch so many films with their kids. Some of my best memories are watching Lord of the Rings with my dad and hiding behind the sofa for the Shelob and Nazgul scenes
I love listening to you guys talking, it’s strangely relaxing 😊
2 minutes in. Its nice to know that nobody has ever finished this video in the world without skipping
Haha, that's a nice point
yes, it's still a virgin video
*feels good*
the editor would be one
yeah but a lot of people listened to it when it came out last week
Only reason I did is because it’s background noise while I smoke...
Red Letter Media makes fantastic content. It's always great seeing Mike & Jay banter about celebrities and films. I can't recommend that channel enough. Keep it up bros!
Rhett is reaching Zaddy territories.
Mattteus he’s dangerously close to zaddy levels, I completely agree
I’d say mine, in no particular order, are Napoleon Dynamite, Wayne’s World, Heathers, Lethal Weapon, The Shining, The Godfather part 2, Dog Day Afternoon, Clueless, An American in Paris, and maybe Kill Bill tbh
36 years old and still haven’t seen any of The Godfather movies
Same, 36 and never seen them
Wow...... you guys are missing out. No better time to watch them then now
Godfather 1 and 2 are great
I haven't either
How many are there? I’m 56 and I’ve never seen one. Maybe I will do that now!
I just want to say I go back and rewatch this earbiscuits all the time because I love hearing people rank things especially you guys. So I would love if you ranked more things likes books or tv shows.
"Fanny floggin" was my nickname in high school. Nice pod, my guys✌
How'd you get that nickname?
More lists from Rhett & Link! Favorite albums especially, from whatever genre.
One of my all-time favorite movies is What Dreams May Come, and I'm also a huge David Lynch fan. His Dune movie was amazing, although I'm definitely excited to see what Denis Villeneuve does. He did a superb job with Blade Runner 2049.
Blue Velvet! Saw it in college. Blew my mind.
Oooo Gladiator, forgot about that one.
The Departed... my favorite movie of all time. Even beyond Good Fellas, and God Father
Wow; hello, you! GREAT choices. Every single one.
Revenge of the Sith, Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Night and I cant think of any others better than star wars
I would love to hear about their favourite albums.
OMG i was watching at the edge of my seat, waiting for RHETT to say pulp fiction, but the fact that the BOTH of you listed MY favorite movie as number 1...u guys dont even know how much more this makes me love you!
have you ever put a hoodie on backwards and found yourself in Narnia?
I’m older beast but my favorite movie is still The Iron Giant.
27 here. Saw it as a kid and haven't stopped loving it. The Iron Giant is definitely my favorite animated film.
When I was little my favorite movie was the iron giant too. I would watch it over and over
Respectable choice haha
Who framed Roger rabbit is one of my favorites, probably my #1
that was a cool movie. I forgot about it! Watched it a lot as a kid. It has such a great set and the fact that cartoons and people were interacting with each other. Definitely memorable.
Oh man, that must have been so cool to see Temple of Doom in theater as a kid. That was my fav when I was young, but Raiders is the best one now.
I hope Link keeps his hair like this. It actually looks really good, much improved I would say. It also looks a lot better next to Rhett's hair.
my god I love this they basically just mentioned all my favorite films - from The Royal Tenenbaums to O Brother Where Are Thou
Rhett looks like a mix of Zeus and Kratos. and it’s SICK
Enjoyed both of your top tens! A few of your choices are, also, in my Top 10. My Top 10 is the following:
1.) The Professional
2.) Pulp Fiction
3.) Back to the Future
4.) Tombstone
5.) Gladiator
6.) Episode IV:The Empire Strikes Back
7.) The Crow
8.) The Wedding Singer
9.) Smokey and the Bandit
10.) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
And apparently I was named after Jack from the titanic, so I guess I have to like the movie lol
This is a really cool top 10.
Nothing more than 25 years old? Hm.
So many of Rhett's Top 10 Movies are my top 10 movies. I love the amount of thought and research he put into his choices. I also love that Link shared the year that his favorite movies came out.
Rhett - if you haven't seen it, check out Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Great little horror comedy
I wrote a paper on this! It is excellent
@@writeonshell I was disappointed by Goats. It wanted to be a Cohen Bros. but fell short.
ohmygosh! first time I saw it I fell in love! it's wonderful
As soon as Link said "2014" and then "Marvel", I knew he was gonna talk about _Guardians,_ which makes me incredibly happy because that movie was my favorite ever for a solid 4 years (until _Infinity War,_ of course), and it still remains in my top 3. Just an incredible film, and I'm glad they gave it recognition.
i always have to watch these at 1.25 speed because i can’t focus for very long but i love ear biscuits so it’s a constant struggle
Thank you! I adore them but I struggle with listening to EB. This will be my new trick 🙌🏻
Yeah sometimes i zone out and have to skip back a bit
@ff eater Well I happen to love listening to them ramble. Its rarely a struggle for me. But that might just mean I like these guys a little too much, lol
Saaaammmeeeee!
Jurassic Park is my #1. I was not allowed to see it in theaters. I have watched it more times than any other movie.
For the 25th anniversary, I was able to see it in 3D in theaters.
I love that movie so much, that experience made my life feel complete and I can now die happy.
I'm twelve and I loved the Lord of the rings books and have been watching the movies since I was 4
i play eb whenever i'm trying to do online classes so i don't get bored, love you guys
Random quarantine thought, do each of you have a tennis ball on a stick or some other such magical spot to look at when you're "pretending " to look at each other while speaking? thanks for all the entertainment and inspiration during these crazy time. don't know either one of you, but love you both.
Donny Darklighter I think in another ear biscuits they said they’re FaceTiming. I could be wrong though.
They're clearly actually looking at each other through FaceTime... They just have a camera set in front of them, weirdo. hahaha
Link's hair goes up
Rhett's hair goes down
After all these years... it happened

Really enjoyed this podcast guys! A couple movies in there I haven't seen in years or at all, definitely looking forward to giving those a watch.
it’s always a good video when jade makes an appearance
Pulp Fiction is my number 1 as well. I have a poster framed in my room. I don't get tired of any Tarantino movies, for me they are perfect
My favorite movie is "When Harry met Sally" 😊 I think it's just perfect
What's it about
it centers around the idea that men and women cannot be friends
My ten.
1. Taxi Driver
2. The Lighthouse
3. Synecdoche, New York
4. Mad Max Fury Road
5. The Piano Teacher
6. Birdman
7. Harakiri
8. La Haine
9. Fight Club
Just looked it up and holy shit those visuals! Looks real interesting, I'll give it a watch.
@@ghostlingbud I know right???? You have to watch it! :)
You ever seen Baraka (I think its called) or The Holy Moutain
@@420happyhippy No, but I just looked it up, will make sure to watch it!
Sweet! Thanks.

3. The Thing (1982)
4. Aliens
5. Tremors
6 . Iron Man

I always watched The Wizard of Oz with my mom every year.
Rhett and Link, if you guys haven't seen the TV biopic The Dreamer of OZ, I highly recommend it.
I have had the hall and Oates greatest hits album on repeat lately and I love that casual reference!!
