Simple yet effective! Thinking about it now its the same system used on rc cars front wheels using a single servo and connecting rods etc, simply replace the wheels for eyes and voila!
Using Facial tracking software to map an actors eye movements/expressions to the animatronics, seems like the logical next step.
That way you don't need a team of people to hand operate the puppets facial movements, the system just copies the actors movements in real time.
What a legend this guy is. The way he integrates it with Maya too.
