Hoover Professional Dual Purpose Vacuum Cleaner Unboxing & Demo

- Today I'm having a look at a USA manufactured Hoover upright that was sold in the UK as part of Hoover's commercial range. It is similar to the Legacy model available in the U.S. and Canada.
When I was a kid, I had a vacuum cleaner obsession. People started making fun of me when I got older so I subsequently dropped that hobby. I really felt like there was something wrong with me. I never understood why I enjoyed the things I do. You make me feel more secure about it and I can live vicariously through your videos
Nobody ever deserves to be made fun of for liking something like vacuums, my 20 year old sister Kelly really likes vacuum cleaners too. She was afraid to tell the kids in elementary-highschool, she was afraid everyone would make fun of her, if someone was going to bully my sister. They'd have to bully me, my 2 brothers, and our parents. Nobody ever bullied my sister and I think her obsession with vacuums is unique and cute
Don't let it bother you. I have had an interest in Vacuums since I was three years old and I am on the autistic spectrum and I still enjoy them today and I am 25 years old. Vacuums are one of the coolest inventions in history. In fact, when in school I used to asked the teachers and even some of my classmates what kind of machine they had and they thought was kind of cute. But it depends on who you ask it to as well. If I do mention vacuums then ill mentions that vacuuming is my favorite chore.
@@jonathanmorgan3024 they really are interesting. I think it has to do with the complexity of the machine with all the moving parts plus the satisfaction of how they clean carpets. I just read that vacuums are designed to sound the way they do so people can actually feel like the machine is doing it’s job. It’s all about sound design. I’m not sure if I’m on the spectrum. I very well could be but my parents deny it. My mom probably just vacuumed a lot when she was pregnant with me
You could just take the hose out of the end cuff and cut it down, it is held in by two tabs and once pressed in (it is tricky but doable) The hose will pull out of the cuff. Just cut it down, fit the white attaching ring back around it and push it back into the cuff until the tabs click back into the holes.
Those Elite style Hoovers are excellent machines, even though Hoover US never sold many in the UK (all I can remember is this [and even a red version with a black headlight blank], the Turbolite [known to us as the Elite 200], and even a Maytag branded Hoover Caddy Vac), I believe they're very desirable machines if you're able to put up with all the noise these make. And also for your headlight conundrum, my guess is the original headlight blank probably fell off and went missing, so the only replacement for that blank is a headlight lens, possibly from a US Legacy model that had the headlight provision in the motor to begin with.
How refreshing to see a vacuum that actually does the simple task that they used to be designed to do... i.e. groom and clean the carpet, unlike exhibitionistic pretentious displays of pseudo engineering excellence like Mr. Dyson's worthless cordless contrivances. My god just vacuum and be done with it. I love how this Hoover looks and what it does. Miss the old days. Probably an inexpensive piece of goods too. Video heaven as always.
You you got a dyson cordless you would understand
Oh wonderful!! I miss vacuums like these. 90's sleek with incredible build quality. My friend's mother still has her Elite based Hoover Spirit (soft bag, red colour scheme) which recently got a new brushroll, HEPA bags from The Bank Vacuum Company, and a new set of motor brackets to replace the originals from the 90's. When I was done she fell in love with it all over again.
Really beautiful legacy style cleaner. Love the legacy style of elites. one of my favorite styles that look and feel deluxe then the regular elite style.
Oh the days when hoovers actually worked. I have 2 border collies and I really struggle picking up the dog hairs with these new hoovers. These new hoovers just aren't powerful enough. I actually got rid of a rug because the hoover I have just wasn't powerful enough to vaccum it. Infact the rollers just stopped. They wouldn't turn at all. We need hoovers that will actually do the job they are designed to do.
In the USA we had that as the Hoover leagcy or Hoover dimension supreme vacuum
What's great is you can still buy brand new brushrolls and (I think) fans for these, though if you break the belt-side motor bracket, you're out of luck. Those are salvage parts only. I have a friend who has a red Hoover Sprint soft bag version of these, and my former neighbor had a Hoover Dimension which was that very vacuum with a green paint job and onboard tools above the bag. WE almost got a Hoover CaddyVac or Widepath just before they came out with the Windtunnel line. Later on though we got a Windtunnel bagless which was not the greatest vacuum. Did have a lot of suction for the first 2 minutes of use though...
black is such an excellent color
sounds superb aswell just hums angrily ant the carpet very smoothly
If I'm correct, the production date would be November 1997 based on that serial string. The Legacy was a more beefier version of the Elite but cleaned very well. I had one for a while as a youngster until the motor went out on it.
I have the Burgundy U1409... It has the air freshener and black lens blank as you mention, and the switch isn't handle mounted instead it's in the same place as the Turbolite. Mine is from November 1993.
Also I'd check the colours of the conductors in the lead... I reckon that could be a US sourced replacement in which case they will be Black and White. It would also explain the lack of moulded plug..
Also yours has a US format serial number.... November 97...
If that works the same as my Hoover Dimension Upright from the mid 90s that was my grandma's when you open the door and insert the hose there is suction to the hose. I have not used it in a while but I don't think it had the sliding diverter. I am just mentioning that you could be loosing some power with hose plugged in but I could be wrong.
You always have good luck with your vacuum cleaners
Lovely vacuum ,my favorite Is hoover legacy supreme
I used to have one of those that looked the same as this one. However, mine had a bag system quite like Kirby, not a hard top over the bag. Since I was about 14 when we gave it up, my parents didn't tell me what ours was. Oh, one more thing - ours was much louder than that.
I have a Hoover preferred vacuum and it works great but I don’t have any attachments for it I got it at a thrift store I love Hoover’s
The legacy had lot of names like legacy supreme, legacy ll, legacy dirt finder, and some legacy weir called turbo power for some weird reason. Hoover used to do this weird thing where they reuse old names on elites, not sure if they still do that?
Hoover in the UK also reuse names but they tend to be on different cleaners.
@@ibaisaic could u do a review of the dyson dc07
I had one in the early 90's (don't remember the name of it tho). I Loved it. Didn't last long tho, the motor burned out after about 2 hrs.
It was a Hoover Dimension. Used Hoover Type Y bags.
I have the same Style hoover but it is a hoover encore energy efficient
is there any power difference between a soft bag or hard bag variant ?
Fantastic machine
I’d love ❤️ one
Upon looking on the internet on this model it shows it having a blanking plate instead of the light cover.
Stair cleaning handle! That would be a bit of a faff
Great video , would love to find some New old stock kirbys to unbox on my channel .love when people look after things and they are like new.
