I love the look of them stock, but the vertex kit looks incredible if installed properly I have seen some that look horrible with it because they were not installed properly or just had fake kits

To a certain extent. Sometimes it just looks out of place.
I've seen a lot of cars with beautiful wheels, chromed out or blacked out but then the paint doesn't match it at all. Feels like a personality disorder on a car 😭😭😭

the ZN6 (GT86, FRS, BRZ) is one of the greatest cars of our time. it came when we needed it and it's still extremely popular to this day, not to mention AFFORDABLE with tons of aftermarket support.

These things are one of the last proper epitome of the every man's sportscar that you can get at an affordable price with a quirky fun factor that comes with it. These things tuned can be incredible autocrossers which is why it has so much aftermarket support which is a good thing

I had a mercury marauder that had enough power to have fun but I put a set of Saleen speed star wheels and a set of ridetech coilovers and dropped it down enough to kill the wheel gap. It completely changed the vibe from grandpa sleeper to a beautiful big body car.

The base model Chevy Cobalts, coupe and sedan are horrendous from the factory. Putting on the SS bumpers, side skirts, some nice wheels and lowering it is like performing magic.
I think in 10-15 years the BRZ/86 Platform could be a prime candidate for swaps. They have the potential once you put a different engine in it.

I can definitely see your argument on the VB WRX needing plastic flares in Cali, but up where it snows they are so functional. I still got it in gray to try and hide the flares more anyways. Maybe will wrap it all eventually
The sn95 imo looks so good when its lowered with some wheels. With the right stance they look sick
To be fair, the Subaru is meant as an awd rally car and they put the plastic flairs on there so protect the paint from rocks and debris. But yea they don’t look amazing 😭

Yeah they’re simply hideous. Look at a GC or GD body and you can see the heritage in the body lines, the new ones look like every Hyundai or Civic on the road. I have an 02 WRX and an 03 2.5rs, wont get rid of either of them

You forgot a Infiniti G37. Stock looks horrible but when it’s tastefully modified it looks good. That doesn’t include the trumpet exhaust.

as a 5th gen 1ss owner (6spd) they really are slept on until you start modding them for sure but the 1ss is the lighter version mine weighs around 3700lbs. glad we could make the list tho🤘🏽

So "only 200hp from a 4 cylinder" is quite amazing. Look at a mazda cx50... lots of power and torque. Thank you little turbos.

@@nibba5692 built ones can, stock maybe not much. Seems like some are lemons some aren’t. My buddies FA20 has been making 411whp for the last 3 years and he’s just hit 35k miles w that set up. However I got a buddy who blew his up making 300hp in under 15k miles

Unless I got a new Edge Mustang that was a bullet or a special edition like a Saleen or Roush I think they're cool but as far as modifying them for looks there's only so much you can do then they all just start to look alike
Im buying a 97 civic with vetch (non hatch sadly…) and im gonna try my best to learn how to handle boost and use this as me trying my hand in boosting a car myself. Probably better than doing it to my 5.0 lol. Your my inspiration drew you made me fall in love with civics lol
As much as possible refrain from the dohc variants, those are pains in the ass when boosted, overheating,gass guzzlers and block cracks. Start off with a A ph16 on civics,easy to work on And are absolute tanks at handling boost. Unless you're willing to go through the money and trouble, sohc is the way to go.
I myself started on a ph15 EG, made 350 to the wheels,built strictly for circuit. It was a hella fun pocket rocket. Parts for an sohc come in cheap but quality assured as well

lowering a car makes all the difference, I've been doing it to all my cars for over 20 years. Even in my 50's, the only difference is I now just use springs unless it's a dedicated sports or track car. My current is a new CLA 35 AMG and I dropped it on forged rims as soon as I got it in to my garage. That car looked very average stock, but it has good DNA.. except for the little bits of chrome all over the joint, got rid of that garbage too.
Some of us see cars as they are, others see them as they could or should be.

Absolutely nailed it with the new vb wrx. Im torn between buying one now and doing the face-lift myself or waiting for Subaru to fix their mistake. The new motor makes pretty solid power with bolt ons compared to my 2015.

New mustangs weight is like 3,700 or so for a base PP is probably a little heavier since it has those massive brembos. 5th gen Camaros look sick modded
I’d say probably small trucks like 80s Toyota pickups or the Chevy s10 single cabs can look pretty nice when done right
A good one is the f150 single cab. From factory they look horrible straight work truck but once lowered and wheels and headlights maybe and they look clean
Sn95s are hideous stock but put some coilovers nice spoilers and some bbs rks, I might be bias but my sn95 is probably the best looking out there
One I feel is definitely the e82 1 series bmw. Looks gross lol. But the 1m conversion and the power the 135 puts out from factory 👀. Even without the flares they can be tasteful with good wheels.
ya should definitely throw the Mark 5 Supra on there. I personally like it stock but others don't--- until them modifications comes into play

I have a 2023 wrx and the plastic don't bother that much, i love my car the way it look.
You can fix the fenders on the new WRX but you can't fix that horrendous rear end. The tail lights just look like the Type R FK8 tails, and the diffuser is just enormous. No clue what they were thinking.
Yeah the front/sides of the car have grown on me especially with mods, but that rear end is horrendous🤮

The 86 chassis is meant to be ugly from factory which is what I love. The second you throw wheels and suspension on them they widen out like crazy and have a lot of road presence (visually). Same goes for the NA motor, they wanted a blank canvas low cost car for people to modify. People dog on the 86 chassis being slow, but it's quite literally a chefs kiss gift to the car scene.
I say all of this, while being mindful that the Tik Tok clowns with salvage title looking ass 86's exist. But there's some insane builds out there, you can fit literally any motor in these things. Whatever swap you can think of, it's been done. Modern day S-Chassis
Thats the entire philolospy of the 86 to begin with, a blank canvas with limitless potential at an affordable cost with a broadened out aftermarket. Its inspired predecessor is LITERALLY the AE86
@@slimslimee4411 Yep such a great car with so much heritage, the only Achilles heel is the Subaru FA20, it's just not there torque-wise even when boosted, leaves a lot to be desired.
@@Scirollo And the other best part, it inherrited the gift of platform versatility. You can pretty much slap on almost any kind of motor and it will fit like a glove. For my preference, I genuinely like the FA platform, I just wish toyota did some quality control when they were sent this motor from subaru cuz a flat motor provides smooth and quick acceleration and a low center of gravity giving it a smooth driving experience

Older volvos look mean as hell modified, Volvo 240 turbo, Volvo 740/940 turbo, and my favorite, volvo 850Rs
