I can't believe some of these comments these people need to chill and grow up . MV Freedom keep these videos coming - this is one of my most favorite channels to watch - I even make my wife watch them too :) be safe and happy travels
You both rock Keep them coming, And yeah the buffing and waxing are excellent and your windows looks so so clear Job well done Love the preparation part of the video before casting off and during passage and the navigation watch. Thanks and take well care
Here on the tug, we use Rain-X. By the way, great editing! BTW, I'm pretty sure that watching your videos makes my blood pressure go down. They're always so pleasant and relaxing.
I’m from New Zealand, not a boatie, but enjoy learning about the wider world through videos like these. I am amazed though at the torrent of abuse from these haters, there is no justification for that, and I for one will make sure that Orcas Island is not somewhere I will ever visit, they sound like the most unfriendly miserable people on earth. Keep up the great videos and ignore their bs.
MV Freedom, this is my first post ever for a video. I live in Japan but originally from New England and have been kicking around the idea of boat living for a few years now once my retirement starts in 2022. Your videos and following another one called Mermaid Monster have been extremely helpful to me. You seem like very genuine people with your travels off the boat being very interesting but you also seem to bear the brunt of people who are miserable and borderline hateful for some reason that’s not your fault. Please keep up the interesting videos and realize there are many around the world that enjoy them.
Hi Guy's, Like your videos and showing tasks that are all part of it. Yesterday we boated the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin with family. Today I replaced old Windlass covers. Always something. Your tips are always appreciated. We all learn from each other as you know. Take care.
Happy Birthday Mr. Sully !!! Elizabeth & Shawn I think you have found your favorite getaway spot now. What a beautiful island with all the shops and restaurants. I really enjoy each and every video you post and can't wait until the next. You have made me consider maybe living aboard now as it looks like a wonderful lifestyle. Stay safe and have a great week coming up.
And I thought I was a clean freak....I just use plexus for the clears and windows. I do get cleaning envy watching the videos... the boat always looks good..congrats
Enjoyed Mr. Sully's day! What a lucky dog living the sea life. The scenery of the islands and water is really, really, really beautiful up there. I agree that was a nice little town to visit.
3:22 - Yes, take Elizabeth's advice and make sure to include Washington State Excise Tax into your annual operating budget..It's steep! The excise tax on our little 23" Ranger Tug is over $480 per year. My wife worked for "Ms. Oprah" from 2009 through 2011. She often refers to it as the longest decade of her life! :-)
We too love visiting Eastsound. But WOW what’s up with the haters? I understand concern during these times but.... I for one enjoy your videos. Keep ‘em coming!
Mike, we normally like visitors too. But we're in the middle of a global pandemic, on an air ambulance dependent island. Also not sure if you're from WA but there's an essential travel order still in place.
You guys are a great boating couple. (Don’t know how in the world you have attracted these kooky Karens in the comments, except it’s probably just jealousy.). First Mate does a great job with the getting underway checklist.
You guys should look into small e-bikes for your little treks into town. I seen some that are boat friendly with a dog basket attached you would be good to go.
Nice video of Eastsound. If you're up in the islands for awhile, try Stuart Island if you haven't yet. Lot's of nice trails and check out the treasure chest.
I have never tried waxing the windows on my pickup but I’m gonna give it a go after seeing Captain Shawn doin that. I’m bad about having clean and streak free both inside and out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SULLY 🎂🎉🎈🎊 great video as always 👍🏻🇺🇸😎 thanks and y’all be safe out there.
When you live on Orcas we do not call it Ophrahs Island and right now we do NOT encourage visitors during a pandemic. Visit another time when more things are open. Most restaurants are now take out only.It is a community with all the things communnity means good and bad. The video shows this as paradise, remember paradise is someones home
Most people we heard while waiting in lines were visiting for the holiday weekend, so if visitors aren’t welcome we suggest the locals works with your tourism board shut down the WA State ferries to visitors and prohibit all travel there. Now that it’s open people have every right to be there safely and responsibly.
@MV Freedom don't listen to the haters lol people are stupid. I only wear a mask when I got to the grocery store or if I'm in a crowded area of people. Keep making the great content!
What a lovely spot, guys. Don't get scenery like that in good old England. Happy Birthday to the pooch, too ( you could have brought him his own, Mr. Sully sized ice cream). :-)
As a detailer of 20 years, a better product than Rainx is Griots glass Sealant, it lasts longer and is easier to apply and buff out.And to get water spots off use Sud Factories SPOTLESS X2 Glass Water Spot Eliminator, again the best I have found in 20 years of detailing. And yes I do this on every boat I detail.
How cool is that. We’re cruising with the Aspen folks next Friday x ten days I’ll have to ask who was Eastsound on the 4th. You guys are one of the couples we follow that has led up to this purchase. Looked at the Nordhavyn 35’ in Anacortes, feel in love with it but decided we wanted the speed. I get impatient when ice cream or Sushi is calling my name in Victoria etc. I’d love to hear what you said about it? Thanks again
Happy Birthday to the big fella! Smashed that thumbs up button just as he got his chew stick. How about a chew stick EVERY time he uses that pee patch? Don't worry, we here at the Internet, say it's OK.
12:40 is actually the court yard of the Episcopal church!!! Ocean front worship! I went in (I'm Episcopalian) and listened to a concert they were practicing for. I Totally concur that East Sound is WONDERFUL!!!!! Also so is Deer Harbor around the corner.
@@mvfreedom That labyrinth made from grass and cement pictured in the court yard is an ancient Episcopal church metaphor for the spiritual path that we are all on. The view of the sound is spectacular when you realize it's a church yard over looking the water! TMI? lol
We have a little run about, starting to explore the San Juan’s this summer. Looking forward to the different locations that are so close to our Lynden, Wa. home. We have learned really fast to keep an eye on the winds, the south winds can make things really rough in a short amount of time.
One day I asked my wife if she would like me to Rain-X her windshield, since I knew we were in for some rain the next day. She told me, no, she was fine and, after all, had been driving for years without it. After she went to bed I snuck out and Rain-X'd the PASSENGER side of her windshield. The next day when she returned from work she walked up to me, leaned her head to my chest and asked I would do her side of the windshield. Of course I did. . .
No, never waxed my windshield - but will now. Shawn I noticed the smaller drill buffer, what type of pad do you use on glass? What type of wax? As I’m in New England and don’t cruise PMW (yet) I love the technical aspects of your videos. Plus you’re basically living on my ideal retirement boat, so love seeing how you operate. That’s a nice thing about your channel: good balance of tours, tech, and boat life. 👍😎👍 And HBD Mr Sully 🎉
Absolutely 💯% correct. I hate spots on my windows,Specially when sunlight is in front of you...makes it even harder to see clearly. You guys are doing awesome job as always 👍🇺🇸💞

I love how people think because they live somewhere that only they should be able to be there. Then they call you privileged. Lol I'm glad you guys were successful enough to live your dream. That is what America is supposed to be about. Sometimes seems we forget that.
It’s not like that at all, we like having tourists here like it’s really good for local businesses we just don’t like when people knowing call it a celebrities island when they don’t own it or even live here, just own land. It’s actually really disrespectful
Gabe Sturk Thanks for making my point. Yes I know you like having tourist when it’s convenient for you but only when you want it to happen. You think just because you bought a piece of land where other people like to visit that you have some sort of say there. You knew people visited there when you bought it so you have no right to complain. I’m not sure what that says about your character that you get so butt hurt about what someone calls the place where you bought land. Welcome to adulthood where people get disrespected every day get over it.
I live on the Gulf of Mexico in north Fla and listened to Coast Guard in a C 130 called out on a blue bird day for an EPIRB that a boater had sent out. Turned out he had run out of gas and had no VHF radio. CG circled near by boat to go over check on him and ended up towing him in. He turned down Sea Tow and I’m sure he tallied quite a bill to the tax payers. Usually EPIRB is reserved for emergencies.
Wow, some of these comments! Pretty area but the folks sound butt hurt that you are enjoying life. Keep it up. I love the Nordhavn. Happy birthday Sullying!
You got us all excited about Sucia. Been there twice in the past 20 years and got blown out both times. So we went back again. SW winds so we choose Shallow Bay in the NW side. Got blown out again. Lesson learned (again).

Woohoo Mr. Sully! Happy Birthday!
We chartered a 47" DeFever pilot house last year and spent a week cruising the San Juans. Thanks for helping to refresh the memories!
you have the best videos on youtube thanks
Orcas Island is the love of my life! So happy you experienced a little peek!
Just love this channel these people are smart laid back and independent
Love your videos! You're a great team and your vessel is always ship shape!
You are by far one of my favorite UA-cam channels.
Such relaxed tones, it's always interesting when you an Sean do a walkabout in your local town and village!
Thanks for your videos, I always enjoy them, very professional, and relaxing. 😎
Don't know how I got here. Don't own a boat, but for some reason, this channel is nice to watch!
Enjoy all your videos and appreciate them so much.⚓😎
great video happy birthday mr sully thank you for sharing I polish my windows on my vessel
If the perfectionist captain says wax the windows I would wax the windows. That boat is probably an 11 on a scale of 1-10.
He is on it. The high hulls on the nordhavns are tough unless your 6'7" like Shaun. ..dude has a wing span..

I polish my windows every time I wash my vehicle. Rain runs off and the bugs don't stick as bad. Great videos. Stay safe.
This is one of the best episodes. We have the same dynamic with the work on the boat, let’s get to dinner crash.

It's also because your little Ranger Tug has a $70k price tag. Great little tugs..Saw a 29' out today doing 18 kts just fooling around.
Way to go Mr. Sulley! Happy Birthday bud. And, thank you to the crew! Be safe.
Nice videos.l see you two
together and happy in your 90's,cheers.

👍 for Sully. You guy’s really live the life. Very nice!!!
That is one bad ass boat , so happy that in America it is possible to live an absolute dream life ! Now if only my ship could come in. Sincerely kev
You guys should look into small e-bikes for your little treks into town.
I seen some that are boat friendly with a dog basket attached you would be good to go.
We’ve got some great fold up Segway scooters that fit nicely, so we’ll have to bust them out soon!
Nice video of Eastsound. If you're up in the islands for awhile, try Stuart Island if you haven't yet. Lot's of nice trails and check out the treasure chest.
Great video guys and look towards the vlogs 🇬🇧
I can only say, i am JALOUS of your live on board and way of life!!
Greets Maik from Amsterdam The Netherlands
There is some detail, running a ship! Nice Work!

Another wonderful trip ... thks

Another very very enjoyable video thank you
Learned about Rain-X while working on my dads crab boat decades ago.
Having the wing on standby and warmed up is a great tip.
Thank you guys for Orcas island
We stayed on an air bnb boat in Shilshole a few years ago and had so much fun.
No wonder my brother loves living up there in Port Orchard, it is spectacular!
New leaf cafe there is very good. Only open seasonally, but totally worth if for breakfast or dinner.
I saw a power catamaran in the background 😘. We get our Aspen C100 ISLAND THYME this Tuesday !!! Cya on the water
How cool, that was an Aspen in the background and we left out footage of us talking about how cool it it. Enjoy it!
How cool is that. We’re cruising with the Aspen folks next Friday x ten days I’ll have to ask who was Eastsound on the 4th. You guys are one of the couples we follow that has led up to this purchase. Happy birthday Sully! Sully for City Manager!!!
That would be the best city ever 🐶
I don't have a boat, but my car windows are treated with Rain-X. Good stuff.
BAK

Just a heads up.
There are huge sections of missing or unlinked audio.
Regards,
Nordhavn should sponsor you guys! Like a per diem for Shawn for sandwiches and such.
Haha right? That would be nice, then he’d never have an excuse for hanger ever again 😉

Jay Whitestone we use a 3” foam pad with the Milwaukee buffer, and wax is 3M cleaner and wax 👍
Griots Garage has a great selection of small high quality buffers as well. Use those instead of Milwaukee or Dewalt. Lots of review videos..
cucumber and lime ice cream......yummy...add some white rum and it would be a mojito ice cream....
It was actually sorbet but I’m sure the rum would be even better 😉
Love the video thanks!
You all need to start fishing so much great food from the sea maybe some crab baskets to be safe happy holidays
Still in Penn Cove? May have to go there one of these days. Hey y’all from Roswell Ga. It’s been fun following you. Best of seas.

Does the window waxer iron his money too? If so, you got a problem. A good one thx, Adam, Tofino.CA
I used Rain-X on a previous car and loved it. I think waxing would be too much effort for me. :D
on most Nordhavn isn't the wing required to be at or just above idle for the hydraulics if you want to use you thrusters?
Good catch and advice. Definitely ups the hydraulic pressures.
Thanks great enjoyment to watch . There I a product called aquapel . Last longer then Rain x
Very well done ☺️
Mr Sully is certainly (sea)worthy; congrats
Hey do you have a link to the waggoner guide weekly webinar you mentioned? Cant seem to find anything that looks like it.
Here you go. It’s somewhat buried on their website but you get to this in the “Covid 19 updates” section: www.openforboating.com/sbslive
Glass wax is really great for preventing spots, but for my car I use a ceramic based glass spray, does about the same job
