Get C Drew Dalman from Atlanta. 4th ranked center in the NFL, 26 years old. That should be the #1 target, then sign one of those guards. Draft NT Kenneth Grant from Michigan in the 1st round. Then get a HB, corner, and another guard with the rest of the picks.
45:00 is when we come to the realization that Kwesi’s draft failures have a monumental effect on roster. You can’t have the Chiefs or Eagles roster when your GM drops draft duds.
Bryon Murphy had about 3-4 interceptions thrown directly to him. And Outside of Bynums dances he is league average. They can be replaced with minimal drop-off. The biggest needs are IOL, and IDL, and it’s not even close.
I think you have to draft a WR on Day 2. Probably the last year of Addison, not much behind him now and KOC had shown he can maximise WRs. As you've said before, you have to draft what you can develop, and buy what you can't. I'd argue with Flores you could draft a high CB too or an IDL. We don't do well with O line play, so get FAs in

Watching the Eagles with that big line is what's been needed here for a long time, time to get it done ! Hopefully they can get a few in the draft on offense and defense that they can plug and play !
Need a O line! Look at a certain RB running behind an average to bad OL and he changes teams with a very good OL, and boom, he’s rushed for 2000 yds in 16 games and is averaging 150 ypg and 5 TD’s in the playoffs.
You need to spend on that offensive line in 2 to 3 spots, center and the 2 guard spots, then grab a corner back in free agency. Then draft dt, rb, and depth where needed
Did you guys not see the look on O’Connells face after that first Darnold playoff series? Totally shocked to the point he coached from panic mode all game.
There are a lot of valid points here and I’m fine bringing back who we brought back. Given the draft talent pool I am more confident allocating that big signing to Fries/Trey smith and grabbing a powerful DT in the back of the first/moving back to get one in the early second. I have no faith a rookie comes in and succeeds for JJ at RG right away, and, you’re positioning yourself to draft based off need instead of having the luxury of best available whether it be CB/DT/RB
Priority 1, 2, and 3 should be putting as much help around JJ McCarthy as possible. I would prioritize fixing the interior OL before anything else, especially considering how many really good guards will be available in FA. We could legitimately sign 2 long term guards this free agency, let Bradbury play out his contract and then replace him next year, and draft a solid RB in the third round. Gives JJ everything he needs to be successful, and we lean on Flores to elevate the defense for one more year. The goal for next season shouldn’t be to win the SB, it should be to allow JJ to develop and set the stage for a 5 year Super Bowl window
Vikings are about to become the NFC version of the Chiefs. Let's not restructure too much. Perhaps O'Neil. But that's it. Cut Bradbury, Ingram, and Brandel. All that's good for about $17MM more right there. And, guys, don't keep ignoring the offensive line. Draft interior D-line, and restock the interior O-line in FA.
Worried about Ryan Grigson being Kwesi's football consultant. He ruined qb Andrew Luck for the Colts and hasn't learned from it because he still thinks oline doesnt matter. KOC's post game statement about the oline was a cry for help.
After listening to Thor and Forno, we Know that this draft class is DEEP at IDL, RB, and CB meaning you go Guards in FA as well as just BPA you can to fill gaps.
Dec's right fix the O'line. There are two monster nose tackles at the top of the draft. We have the people that can rush if we plug the middle. I agree with Phillip that Osa O from the cow pukes is too light in the shorts. Harrison is not a NT, put him back at end. There are several really good RB's that will fall to us in the 3rd. Two guards and a corner back in FA. My two cents.
What percentage of offensive plays overall are outside zone running play? If the percentage is small enough then maybe the Vikings could adjust their philosophy in acquiring interior linemen. Maybe they could increase the amount of gap zone runs and acquire interior linemen that are larger and better gap zone blockers.
If we keep CJ Ham, could we at least hand him the ball once in awhile? All the griping about how bad our red zone run game is and we have an option we've NEVER TRIED. I'm not saying it's the solution, but can't get worse!
Im with Dex on the lineman discussion. If you HAVE to bring Bradbury back, you need to have two absolute maulers at guard to attempt to negate the lack of push he generates. I'd be very happy to see an elite center and good guard added with possible with Risner returning (least bad of him GB, and Brandel). I also have significantly more faith in Flores to develop unkown guys into contributors than KOC. Would love to get him at least another big body on the line, but he can make it work with whoever. Agree on bringing back Murphy and Bynum. Need to draft a feature RB and a blue chip DL prospect with #1 and the likely #3 Cousins comp
The Eagles have 3 rookies starting in the supper bowl all draft picks. Cooper Dajuan, Mitchell & Carter. Just draft good and pick good free agents. Need to look at their blue print. They’ve been to 9 conference championships and 4 Super Bowl since 2001
I’m 100% confident that Declan said “really f*ckin limits you” at the 45:20 mark…and then edited it and that’s why the recording skips. Busted Declan! Busted! 🫡
If any teams understands how much hand holding KOC was doing right up until their mic cutoff on every play., they wouldn’t want him. Then I believe Sam then continues processing what he heard just before the snap. This leading to many delay of games. This makes me think that Sam is far from a quick study. That also shows in his delay in delivering the ball and even his inability to throw the intermediate level pass. Tag and trade would be very dangerous based on what is knows about Sam as a fan. The experts should know more. Scary…!!
Problems with Osa O: undersized; playing in a 4-3 defense rather than a 3-4; playing next to a monster NT (338 lbs) who frees him from a lot of run defense responsibilities. In a 3-4, without a monster NT, his lack of size would be a problem.
Hey Guys, long time listener here. I’ve been listening since ya ll had only a couple thousand subscribed on UA-cam. This is by far one of my favorite episodes. Keep up the good work.
I hope they don’t go with Phil and judds plans, as Declan said…just bandaid the line. Spend money there and let other positions have bandaid for a year. Sick of the trenches sucking!
The problem with 34 year-old good veteran players is, they’re great until they get hurt. Then you’re stuck with a sizable contract, and nobody to play the position. For great players, most don’t stop being great… They just start to pile up injuries. You can’t beat father time.
You know what would make all of this a lot easier. If we didn’t have to go out to free agency to get every starter for this team. This is where Kwesi completely whiffing on multiple drafts just kills this team. Watching all these teams in the championship games with stud players on cheap deals because they drafted so well deep into drafts.
These exercises are always fun, but it would be even better showing a spreadsheet of the moves you are projecting/speculation so we can really see it all on paper.
I agree with Declan ! Tre Smith hands down! Who is going to be the most important player we have? Answer Jj Mcarthy! Coming off knee injury! You going to expose him to that putrid Oline. Train wreck waiting to happen!
There are a ton of veteran safeties in free agency and there are also a bunch of defensive tackles who can rush the passer in the draft. Please stop with the bandaid guard options. I agree with Declan, Enough!!!! Also, Brandon Scherff's run blocking grade the past 3 years has been between 57 and 60. How is he helping the run game? He graded out slightly worse than Blake Brandel this past year in run blocking.
13:48 because Bradbury is a cut candidate rather than a free agent. And because we are well above the cap, you can work out what you can sign in FA and then cut Bradbury afterward. Rather than cutting him and then winding up out of luck in FA
Vikings are the 5th oldest team. Time to build through the draft and get younger. You just have to have a GM and owners that know how to hit on the draft. A GM that picks up free agents is not that hard of a job. They already have a playing history and Qwesi is not any type of a drafting wiz .
55:17 random but I was one of the kids that played at halftime of a Vikings game in like 2005 at the dome and it was against the Saints. Aaron Brooks saw us lining up before time expired in the half and came over and asked which one of us was the quarterback and I said me. And he shook my hand and wished us luck. Stupid little moment that I’m certain he doesn’t remember but it made me a fan of his for life. Crazy the impact these players can have on kids.
They need to invest into DT and a running game. Till they can get push from both interior lines they will not be contending. And also need to see JJ become at least average.
They can sign that many in FA but they'll be crap. A top 10 OL or DL will not be available because their team will keep them. To sign the best of the rest available, you'd have to overpay them, probably 10+M/player. They'll run out of money before they can sign 5 quality FAs.
You forget that franchising Darnold costs you $40 million of your salary cap unless and until the trade happens. Now you're down to $30 million for free agency. He isn't going to cost $0 dollars while you wait to trade him.
Unless we're there is a guaranteed trade in place or they think they're getting a 3rd, I don't think it makes any sense to tag Sam. He's going to eat half the cap until traded. A 4th is not worth it when they could potentially get a 4th next year for him
This exercise to me has proven that as much as we love having free agency money, 1) it goes away quick and 2) draft picks need to start hitting and it needs to happen asap. If I’m Kwesi, I take as much data as possible and look at the year 1 success rate / hit rate of all positions of need/ this draft has depth in. Every single edge that can be taken to be as sure as possible your first rounder is a year 1 impact player is necessary if this team wants to take a step next year.
Long-time listener, occasional commenter. Is there any way you can pull up graphics on the screen when doing these lists? Honestly, more graphics for anything would be awesome but for me, and probably many others, I am listening while working and sometimes miss parts. A list of what you concluded for each player would be super helpful. I realize you pump out a lot of content but just a thought. Keep up all the good work!

I know it was your guys' first blueprint, but damn, that was bad. Scherf is starting to look his age, there aren't any Cs in the draft that I'd consider drafting. There is enough Gs and DTs in free agency to get a high caliber player on each side and NOT break the bank. This is a rough start to the offseason for you guys.
The blue print is more Eagles than KC. There is only 1 Mahomes. We can build a team that wins home games. gets top seed, and play NFC title game at home.. Means inside out..strong O and D lines, good running games, getting the ball to the stars in crunch time.

Spend the cash on interior O-line ( helps improve run game and gives JJ protection ) and draft Interior D-line.
@ Exactly! This teams future hinges heavily on this offseason, if this draft is a dud going to have to reconsider who’s drafting.
3 iOL, 2 iDL in FA. No excuses
They can sign that many in FA but they'll be crap. A top 10 OL or DL will not be available because their team will keep them. To sign the best of the rest available, you'd have to overpay them, probably 10+M/player. They'll run out of money before they can sign 5 quality FAs.
@@Chopper67 It is all about drafting. Common sense.
@ agreed
Let’s go boys. I’ll be judging all of you after I’ve listened thru 😂
A 4th is not worth it when they could potentially get a 4th next year for him
I don't think the interest in SD is as strong as you think. I'd guess there are multiple teams wanting him for $25-28M/yr and but not $41M.
That 239 Pick from PIT is from the Jessie Davis trade back in 2022. The trade was for a conditional 2025 7th.
When I go to Minneapolis I'll definitely be going to Butcher & the boar 🐗. Order that Judd Special and wash it all down with a before I die surly beer 🍺 Skol!
We need to get a guard like the Hutchinson move and interior defensive line and then whatever else we can get
The blue print is more Eagles than KC. There is only 1 Mahomes. We can build a team that wins home games. gets top seed, and play NFC title game at home.. Means inside out..strong O and D lines, good running games, getting the ball to the stars in crunch time.
