Good movie but way overhyped. Is it me or did the actress playing Lily look like a real life version of M3GAN?

If this is in any consideration for best horror film of 2024 it is going to be a really bad year for horror.

Fortunately, the second half of the year looks stacked with promising looking horror, so when the dust settles, I’m guessing this one will likely get left behind…thanks for watching and for the comment! What about this one didn’t work for you out of curiosity?

@dudesofthedeadpodcast it's a slow burning movie that has no real payoff at the end. It just slogs along and then ends with a whimper. It's also a style of movie that relies heavily on the actors performances, delivery of lines and then those lines themselves. It fails there as well. I sat and watched the movie with 3 other people and we all just sat there at the end and we all said "well it looked interesting" good premise for a story just poorly executed. I will give it credit for one thing, it did a very good job of capturing that late 70s late night talk show vibe. Set design was good. Style was good. Just fell short everywhere else.

And they did nail the 70s late night talk show vibe! Thanks for your thoughts, always fun to see how others interpret films differently. This one does seem to be polarizing!
