you are right we got here with no invitation or explanation. we are more aware than most living things on this planet, and one day like all people before us we will be gone like it all never happened...... WHY though!???

We are all one, everything that will ever be has already been. The beginning through to the end has happened. We are experiencing the experience to be. Not everyone has the opportunity to exist, some not for as long as others.

Outstanding lecture. Robert Sapolsky's new book on Free Will or lack thereof, comes out next week. There is no free will, even as we struggle to make the "right" choice in the moment! Fascinating stuff!

He discussed the Radio Theory .. I think in Part 2 of this series. He says its a possibility to keep in mind. What you mean when you say “this” is not correct?

    Well put. 💯✅
I wish these vids had been around two decades ago…
I remember being deeply disturbed by learning about P Gage in college. Twas a real “Oh ****, this is bad news” intellectual moment for me in that it showed how flimsy and material our personalities are.
That and Dennett’s “Darwin’s Dangerous Idea” convinced me that we are delusional DNA dolls (deterministically
doomed to disease, decay, and death).🤢
It was like that moment in the modern Westworld season 1 where the guy learns that he is a preprogrammed android with a fake backstory.

Great episode, can't wait for the next one. It would be helpful to isolate non-spiritual debates, like network organization vs. biology, i.e., what would change your hypothetical digital copy once it is no longer influenced by your biology and what would remain the same.

My answer to your initial question: It's in my head all the time and I light up when I can find someone to talk about it, both in the context of my explorations and work as a fiction writer and in the workaday world. It's what Socrates meant when he said the unexamined life is not worth living.

Nice to know we’re not the only ones who ask this question. The only question, really.

I suggest reading Jaak Panksepp’s “The Archeology of Mind” - an important scientific work on feelings and more. And where do genetics fit in? If only we could hear experts in these sciences talk together and even work to begin integrating these aspects of what makes us who we are. Thank you for your work.

What about precognitive experience, vision, hearing voices for the event that will be happened ?

It seems to me, at least in this part 1, that "I" is equated with character, behavior and biological particles. When I think "I", it makes me feel the source connection with everything there is, as well as the temporary individual distinctiveness.

Love this, David. It seems our electronic media tech is performing much the same operation to us that the iron rod did to Mr. Gage. Frank Zappa said it best: "You are what you is". Or, as the DuPont company used to say in their ads: "Better living through Chemistry ".
    Cheers.

But a recent new study from University College London, in which researchers looked at serotonin levels in the blood, finds no link between low serotonin, or a chemical imbalance, and depression.

Why do these episodes all have the camera jumping back-and-forth, zooming in and out , in and out - - even in the middle of sentences… so disconcerting

  • @Bootsie142

Why b3cause they don't want you to talk about this by design. The personality is accessed by brain, brain damage then hindering the access to personality. Personality soul being uncharged

This isn't correct.. if you have a radio in your head and you receive a transmission. That signal is coming from outside the mind. If you turn that radio off with drugs it doesn't mean the signal was coming from inside the mind. You just turned off the radio....

  • @DAra-fk6wu

Thus is unfortunately just click bait. It doesnt actually give any answers as to what you are. It just discussed one side if the argument and not very convincingly either. If you make a video and don't have a motive to provide any value it's purely just to syphon your precious attention away for their profit and or sometging.. please don't waste your time. You could watch all these videos and be none the wiser... nothing burger
