Personally I think that Eddie Vedder & Pearl Jam really express the emotion of this song much better then what the original song presents. Having said that, this is an amazing song and I thank Victoria Williams for writing it and Pearl Jam having the opportunity to make an outstanding cover of a great song.
Oh wow, I'm ashamed to admit that although I've loved PJ and Eddie since 1991, and even knowing his voice saved my life at least a few times, I'd hear him sing and then I'd think that no matter how much it hurts I just can't leave this beauty...yet I've never heard Victoria sing her own song...my God, it's perfect...is there any version of her singing it with Eddie? Oh I hope so, please...
She is one of the best song writers of the era......my opinion is she both did not try to capitalize off this and didn't really care too much (until she became ill). Still though, mad respect for her lyrics and abilities
