Thank you for this video! I had to format a 128GB SD card for my dash cam, and your video made it so easy to do! I did get the error message using guiformat at one point and couldn't get it to stop. My solution was to go back into the SD card's properties and restore the defaults, then run it back through SD formatter followed by guiformat. Thanks again!
Very easy to follow and understand. I’m an old guy with limited computer knowledge. I looked at several sites trying to find a solution that I could understand. This was the answer for me.
oh my god THANK YOU, my phone was the only thing could not read the 128g sandisk sd card i just bought, a lot of ppl with similar phone also has the same issue, and my dad started suggesting factory resetting my phone
and then i saw a comment on a forum abt something along the lines of Nokia not licensing exFAT and their phones can only read FAT32, so i look those up and that led me here. a thorough crash course and helpful tutorial that's here to actually help. thank you.
also, my dad is the tech expert of the family and he doesn't know how to do this, and i just did it so that has given me a little ego boost lol, thanks for that too

Richard - thanks so much!!! I have a 2016 Corvette Z06 with the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) option - I tried replacing the 16GB SD card with a 128GB SanDisk Extreme and of course it wasn't recognized. I followed your step by step process and my failed just like yours, if you had edited out this error I would have walked away without a solution - but you left it in and simply did it again, executing the SD Card Formatter and then running "guiformat" and it worked. I can't thank you enough!!!

Great tutorial! I have a Tesla and it has video recording capabilities and it said you must format your USB drive to FAT32. I had no idea how to do that. Thanks to you I was able to successfully format my USB thumb drive to FAT32. Love the SD formatter and guiformat applications. Been a headache cause I have two 128 gb SDXCs. Formatted to FAT32 with easeus. It's for my DAP (FiiO M7 which cant handle eXFat). But all files added were crumpled into unreadable files that occupy the whole spaces.
Now I did it using your way. Hope things get resolved.

I found that giving it a name like you did at 20:48 in SD Card Formatter and then clicking Format has to be done or guiformat doesn't work properly with it.

Wow you are a genius! Thank you for making this so easy to understand that even I could do this.
Note that before you can format the SD card of which you need to make sure it's the MicroSD card and not another file system like your pc you need to close any file that is using the SD card like opening up the file location or when you download something to it, you need to have it closed so you can format it to Fat32

Not certain this has been asked . . . Preface by saying I just purchased a SanDisk 2TB Extreme SSD, but it has not been delivered yet. Consequently, I wanted to refresh my memory in regard to formating the disk. Agree with everything you said in your video. However, this particular SanDisk I will receive has a encrypted password feature. My question is - do I complete that first before reformatting the disk (to exFat in my case)? Thank you in advance.

Great video! Thanks for the info. However, when I follow the directions to the T and then insert the sd card into my dash cam, why does the cam tell me that the card is not formatted?
Does your computer recognize the card and can you wirte to it and read from it? If you can there's nothing wrong with your card there's just a compatibility issue with your card and your camera. I tried the SD card formatter and here's what I found. It would not list any other drive drive that was not an SD card. Secondly the 64GB card I had formatted to exFat. The SD card format did not give me any choice to change to Fat32. It just automatically formatted to exFat

Thanks, I was able to properly format and down size my 64GB SD card to 32GB.
you dont need downsize it bro, if you make steps which is in video, you can have 64gb sd card as well
Richard, I have a 128gb Sandisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 that I formatted in an outside camera from its app. After doing this the camera don't recognize the Sandisk is there. Brought it in, put it in an adapter and slid it into my laptop. Same thing. Doesn't see it. Any idea how to get this working again and what format would it have been from new out of the package? thanks
I would have to think that it would have been Ex-Fat out of the package but two devices not seeing it is a concern. Try this video I made on the Gparted tool: ua-cam.com/video/bBQBW932j3U/v-deo.html if this does not see the card then most likely your card is probably defective or non functional. Now Sandisk does give a five year warranty on their cards so you could always talk to them if that is the case. But try the tool first and see what it finds. If I delete the Volume on a SD card and give it 32000 then make it a FAT32 like you did, Would I be able to later Delete the volume again and change it back to 128GB and change it back to its original state?

I had to copy some small files in total of few GB and I noticed that the file size on disk on the 128 GB SanDisk was a lot more than on windows. Why?

Installed a new 128gb sandisk extreme plus in a samsung galaxy tabA7 lite. It let me move apps to sd card. The tablet updated that night, the next morning the apps was moved back to internal storage. I tried moving them back it says no space, but shows 119gb left on card.

i’ve got gui format and sd card formatter but it always gives me error 32. i’ve reformated the card a bunch already and it still won’t format to fat 32
edit: nvm for anyone else having this problem you have to actually close everything in the background including files, only thing you can have open is gui formatter

Hi , i got 256 gb sd card ultra .for video recording on mobile for 2 hours maximum . But is stopping at 4gb that is 10 mins and 17 seconds . It is in exfat format . Is there any way to store continuously record for 2 hours in Android mobile phone directory recording on sd card
Which format and which allocation size to choose
Shall I choose NTFS ? Does NTFS decrease the lifespan of device ?

I am assuming that your are using a verified genuine Sandisk card bought from Amazon or other authorized dealer. exFAT file system that allows a single file larger than 4GB to be stored on the device. This file system is also compatible with Mac. Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.6. 6 and higher are compatible with exFAT out of the box. So your phone may be restricting you in some way. Perhaps it's still recording to the internal memory of the phone or perhaps you have not formatted the card correctly. Perhaps your phone does not support exFat (check with the with manufacturer). Check the card on your windows machine to put a larger than 4GB file on it. If it works then you know it's something to do with the phone. If it doesn't then you know the problem lies in the card. You can go with NTFS and see if that works too. Experiment but use your computer to verify if it works the way it should. Thank you so much for commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

i can store files that are more than 4GB In memory card . I am using realme X2 Android phone 2020 model

In Android mobile , it's internal storage is 64 gb and it's recording untill memory is full that is more than 1 hour continuously in 4k
. And windows 10 i used for formatting exfat and nfts . Both i have tried . It's restricting and saying message "maximum file size reached" after 10 mins 17 seconds

So, you have established that it works on your computer at larger than 4GB and the format shows as correct in your computer. At this point the problem lies in your phone. I would contact the manufacturer of your phone and ask them what the problem is. One more suggestion is that you use your phone to format the card. If it can not format the card or format it correctly I would have to say you have a compatibility issue of some kind and once again I would contact the phone manufacturer.
