As a gay man, I find this song absolutely incredible. Lindemann must have a fricking huge empathy, because he isn't gay himself, and yet he wrote a song that feels surprisingly relatable to a gay man. And I'm just 25 years old, I bet it would be even more relatable to a man of his generation. When he screams "schwulah" (which means "faggot", but obviously UA-cam wouldn't have tolerated it) you can actually feel the tremendous pain a gay man feels when he gets called that way. Two sentences in the song are sadly accurate : "My gender calls me a traitor. I am the nightmare of all fathers." And yet, despite all that... The character of the song still finds reason to smile. He even feels blessed. This is truly beautiful.
@husseinmohammed8654 Oh, I see. I had read somewhere a long time ago that this is what it means. How would you say that in German then ? I'm learning German, and I feel like it may be a useful word to know
@@ludovicdisson3668 At least a year late, but maybe it'll still be useful: Faggot is best translated with "Schwuchtel". There's several gay slurs that boil down to the meaning of faggot (with lots more that are more... creative), but Schwuchtel is by far the most serious- and aggressive-sounding of the bunch, and the most common. Schwul just means gay, and a Schwuler is a gay man. The term isn't derogatory, though some overly-PC people try to make it so that "homosexuell" and "Homosexueller" (the noun describing a homosexual person) is the only acceptable term, which a lot of gay men, such as myself, find ridiculous.
Well… that’s quite a surprise Bros… I’m learning deutch and this is one of my favorite songs, for the metal riffs, I decided to look up the lyrics and shiiiiiiiit…. It’s a gay anthem… I was so dumb, that I was listening “schule naaaach” like “school too” or “after school” I was thinking that it was going to be an uprising song against the school or something like that, but damn… I was so WRONG…
The english lyrics come in 1-2 seconds too late so it's hard to read them in time to the beats dude. P.S. ...what is a beating tongue? How does a tongue beat? Hearts beat. Is the tongue fighting? I don't get the translation there.
In this context "beat" does not mean the beat like heart beating but rather than the beating when you physically attack someone so the "cold tongues beating" is a reference to people who judge homosexuals and abuse them with words and this causing them pain, so actually beating them with words.
No, he is not gay. And this is not a cover. Rammstein were known for making controversial music (Tier is about incest and domestic abuse, for example), this was back in the day where the LGBT wasn't as accepted as it is today. The point of a lot of their songs was social critique, but none of the members are gay as far as I know. I'm talking in past tense because I'm not sure what their newer songs are about.
Tbh, same. I'm not homophobic, but I'm unsure what will my friends think if I burn this on a CD 😅 Some of them have studied German We often do roadtrips and I have a old-ass car so only CD
This song, stated by frontman Till Lindemann, criticizes homophobia.
Jawohl 🎉😂❤
Only if you can't read anything else than Schwulah

Another translation I've seen is "lashing" "cold tongues lashing" means that cold words are spoken
In this context "beat" does not mean the beat like heart beating but rather than the beating when you physically attack someone so the "cold tongues beating" is a reference to people who judge homosexuals and abuse them with words and this causing them pain, so actually beating them with words.
So is Till a gay man? Not hatin just curious
lyric hero is gay, not Till
@@servantofvaria626 whats lyric hero? Is this a cover?

No Till is Hetro, the song is about the public hate towards gays. Rammstein often take up subjects that are controversial.
Schwulah!!!!!
HA! GAYYYY
gay
song is still fire but only for the music itself
