HEY BLARG! The magpie at 2:30 ish is a female, not a male. You can tell by their nape. Males will have all white, whereas females will have grey on there also. Juveniles less than 1 year old and immatures at 1-2 years old have grey as well but you can tell them from adults by their beaks. Maggies less than 1 year old have an all black beak, 1-2 year olds have beaks that are beginning to turn white and adults over 2 years have mostly white beaks with black tips. They're incredibly smart birds too! They'll remember your face and if you're nice to them or not, you can make friends with them. It's only the males who swoop, they only do it for a couple of months a year, only something like 10% of male magpies do it at all and they're only trying to defend their babies. Lovely birds.
