My friend of over 30 years passed away a few weeks ago at only 53 years old. We would send one another music all the time. He sent this song to me just days before his passing. It now takes on a whole different meaning. I’ve listened to it probably a thousand times since that day.
What happened to him?
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e he passed away
I’m sorry for your loss. I’m glad you got to discover something that brings you positive feelings and memories from that longtime friend, though!
It’s difficult to feel that way but it’s nice to remember they’re always there.
I never realized how good their drummer was until this song. Grizzly Bear is master class at making dense layered music easy on the ears.
QueLub big props to the mixing engineer
Props to Ed Droste, lyrics about his ex-husband.
I heard they were invited to some university years ago to teach a music class…. Anyone?
Two Weeks has some sick chops too
i fucking live for this band
what new rh tracks
who are all you people who sound exactly like me and why are you not anywhere I am.
Rayyan Khan moon shaped pool. and an unreleased song from kid a
Patrick Maas dont you mean unreleased tracks from okc
Kristina Koppel Girl. Same
1:52 kills me every time... I love this song, gives me the chills..
Well fucking worth the 5 year wait I CAN'T this single cleared my pores, raised my GPA, and added at least 6 months onto my life god bless
Jordan Thomas Well-said. 👌🤙
totally worth it
hahaha god bless
To be fair, a 2.0 GPA is pretty easy to raise.
Amen that I was alone 🙏
"Don't you feel it all come together?" And then it does.
Next Level Grizzly Bear
The way Droste sings "Is that the way it is?" just rips my heart out. Just so much grief and pain in that.
the drum work on this song and indeed on the whole album is fantastic. Chris Bear can play the drums like the way a pianist would, knowing all the spaces for softness, difference, crescendo... expertise in motion
3:38 is absolutely incredible. so much passion and energy coming through.
To the people saying that the drumming was stolen from 15 Step by Radiohead. As a hardcore Radiohead fan, I am here to disprove this. The tempo for this song is 6/4, while 15 step is 5/4. It just wouldn't fit. This song has its influences, but its a straight original. I applaud Grizzly Bear for making my day.
True, you can't steal anything in music excluding lyrics because a song can never be played the same ever, there will be a audible microscopic difference in every note ever played ever.. the only reason it sounds the same is because the human ear doesn't know the difference.
Well some people will always talk shit, it's up to you to ignore them.
6/4 isn't the "tempo", is the time signature.
Yeah sorry, I am a huge Radiohead fan as well and this in no way makes me think of 15 step.
Ironically I just came from listening to 15 steps and I can say in full technical language, 'no it's not'
The buildup to 2:50 and the following are all so satisfying
So ridiculously beautiful...just as always. The percussion on this track takes it to the next level. Can't wait for the new album!
New QOTSA album coming as well :)
CaveWang Yeah! Though i don't know if they can top Like Clockwork...
Matias Flores like Clockwork is their worst album, easily
J Sickels my favourite of theirs so each to their own...
+CaveWang Radiohead, QOTSA, and Grizzly Bear all in the same place? Now this is a party!
It's a shame I never hear people talk about this band. They're missing out. One of my favorites since 2008
Tell me you're a zoomer without telling me you're a zoomer.
Daaammmn. This is one of my most favorite songs of all time.
Will you move on again?
See that time to flee again
You always make it alright
Is that the way it is?
Let's get along again
You know your move around the bend
Why is that the way it is?
The morning only showed
I wanna show you my bad side
I wanna be the guy who's right
I want you to see things clearly
I wanna make it alright
Don't you be so reasoned
Don't you know that I can make it better?
Don't you ever leave me
Don't you feel it all come together?
Don't you be so reasoned
Don't you know that I can make it better?
Don't you ever leave me
Don't you feel it all come together?

this is exactly what falling in love sounds like
I get that. Nice.
And falling out of love.
When Ed asks if you can feel it all come together, and then it all comes together. Woof.
Just because a song has experimental influences doesn't mean it automatically sounds like radiohead.... goodness people.
it's not just that, it's the fact the thick synth at the start is straight off Radiohead's pallet
it does sound alot like radiohead.. you can't deny that.. not a bad thing, this song rocks and so does radiohead.
i hear Grizzly Bear only.
Ik im late but they nail the whole influence and originality balance. Thehre obvi influenced by Radiohead, theyre literally nicknamed American Radiohead, but theyre also theyre own band. Not a wanna be.
@@Dannzzx who ripped off thick synth off Pink Floyd bowie sensations fix etc... everyone steals from everyone
Streetlights at night...the orange glint of purgatorial nostalgia that rolls off my windshield and around my face...warming my memory. This song calms me so very much
This is one of the songs where no matter what you are doing, when the chorus comes in, you need to stop and sing it loud
Alejandro Solís i know. I do that too. I break out with the chorus, and don't even care
The part at 3:38 through the rest of the song gives me chills
WOW, this is even better than I expected and my bar was set high. LOVE YOU GRIZZLY BEAR !!!
Every part of this song is perfect lol every detail
Masterpiece... there are still great bands in this silly sick world
2017 summer vibes... never will be forgotten ❤️💔
We really out here man
Jordan Lorensy gang gang
jay walk Yikes. Never thought I see a comment like that on a Grizzly Bear video. I get that it's your opinion, but I'm sure the band might think comments like this are problematic amongst people.
Jordan Lorensye
C. Harr don't you ever get tired of being a liberal talking point?
lol not trying to be political, just want fans to enjoy the music in peace. i did enjoy your Bon Iver cover, but maybe that's beside the point
"Don't you leave me, don't you feel it all come together?" That literally hit me so deep, right in the moment that I relate more to it than I ever have, or ever will again I believe.
This was the first single they released. I listened to all the singles so much over summer 2017. here we are 4 summers later😢
The drummer in this band is completely underrated. Just awesome.
Love it. Has a bit of Yellow House gone electro folk vibe to it. I'm heavily invested in this new sonic path they're taking.
Me too. You can tell they're more inspired this time around than they were for Shields
nah dude, Shields was their most inspired work after Yellow House
Shields & Veckatimest are their superior works even though they took awhile to fully get into. Thanks to bands like Talk Talk & Grouper for showing me the value of layers and nuance.
Yellow house all the way. My number one to this day.
TheEthos heavily invested eh?
This song is ORGASMIC
Yes, no better start to my morning than new Grizzly Bear music; I've been craving them so much lately.
The drumming on this track is unreal. Otherworldly
Best song I've heard this year
There will never be a bad album by Grizzly Bear. You guys kill it every fucking time. THANK YOU.
best song to ever exist tbh
Those last two minutes is some of the best music of 2017 so far!
Four Cypresses, Three Rings, Two Weeks, and a partridge in a pear tree.
The dude playing these drums is kicking ass
This just made my month. Can't wait to jam the shit out of this album. Thanks Grizzly Bear! 🤘🏼
Grizzly Chris Bear
Mike Nice Chrizzly Bear
Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear?!?! 2017 going hard bruz
+ The National.
God 3 fav bands you guys are the best. I saw Fleet Foxes, the National, and Grizzly Bear within the last few months. All were incredible and Fleet Floxes absolutely blew my mind. Best moment of all the 3 was this song live
MakeItUp exactly
This is pure fucking art. Gorgeous.
this song is so good i'm in tears right now
Liked it on the first listen. That's a rarity in itself.
im crying my eyes out man.
Wonderful song with gorgeous voices, melody and rhythm. The lyrics are as simple as stuning. Some fresh and new directions for the band are hinted with some different aproach to textures and rhythm patterns, like those prominently featured by keyboards and drums. I'm hearing it on repeat mode. Thank you Grizzly Bear!!!!
I'm in love with this band. I honestly think they are one of the most talented and creative bands out there. Thanks for existing, guys :')
This is really one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.
Brilliant!!!! The best band of the XXI century!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm not crying
Brilliant. Worth the wait...every time.
I'm crying and wohoooing in an empty field
Tuning in circles with my hands stretched
I'm an Igbo man from Nigeria. Grizzly bear have turned me.
A MASTERPIECE!!
This is an interesting direction they are going in, I hope the album sounds a lot like this track... This would be great painting music...
Ian Glass oh are you a painter?? wow!
maybe i could paint you up your ass, sassy boy
If the whole album is as good as this track, we're gonna have a good fucking time.
Didymus bought it on vinyl and it blew me away.
Holy SHIT you guys, I just found out about the album. Got this on repeat. This is GRIZZLY BEAR at their best. My god
i love and hate how unique everyone's perspective is. i love it because of the diversity it has to offer and the different opinions everyone can share but at the same time i wish someone had the same perspective only to be able to share the same feeling this song gives me.
The ending is next level!
Pitchfork really shit the bed not giving this best new track...what a joke. One of the best songs i've heard this year.
I don't think so. The band is pointing in another direction and raising the bar for creativity as itself takes over a complete change in sound character. This often comes with cultivated frowns and misunderstood judgements by the critique - we all know that or have seen it coming.
As far as my opinion is any concern, i think this song lives up to its expectations and is a good jam, even though not necessarily great, or anything. Like listening to it, but it does not leave me jaw dropped...I've honestly listened to many other masterful - and still true-to-itself - jams over the years.
End remark: people's desperate longing for new Grizzly-bear has probably made them dull and embracing any okay material the bad puts out.
fyi: pitchfork doesn't matter
Nick Falletta pitchfork is bullshit... it's all clear when they give a high rating to Harry Styles and Grizzly Bear doesn't even get best new music.
Is 6.8 a high rating? I highly doubt that...
Besides Pitchfork does love Grizzly Bear! Possibly, they are just trying too hard to be goddam impartial - like me. I fucking love this band. But the song is objectively not that great! Get over it :)
I feel my soul is uprising, when he says don't you part. Just amazing. I'm out of everything again.
Don't how I didn't notice this before, but this particular song reminds me SO MUCH of the DOVES... the vocals, composition, production. Now I need to make a playlist with all albums from both bands.
I just think this is a really good song. The drums really kill it they're all over the place and I can't wait for the album to d-rop.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Let's go. Can't wait for the d-rop
Why is this so good
i love those haunting harmonies at 1:00
YES! YES! YES!
Music is Win Didn't know you where a Grizzly Bear fan!!
No.. no.. no...?
Do you have a video on Grizzly Bear? If not, why dont you? 😂
I'm so excited for this album holy shit. I have a feeling they're really inspired this time around. More so than Shields
This is among my favorite songs on a remarkable album. Seems like they improve with each new release.
What a voice!
Good I hear the fans wail. Thanks grizzz
just kind of obsessed
this slaps
The Best Album of this year !!

One of the best songs of all the year :)

Hipsters: Is this Radiohead?
Basically, yeah.
