I was doin whippets listening to this with head phones it was great haha
Facts
Ohhhh I really like you 😆
I wish we could get a new album. They were always so immersive and magical. They did something not many bands can pull off.
"Face to face, we'll watch our bodies break" - melancholic to the bone.
1:59 Ed and Daniel singing together is possibly my favourite sound
I never realized how many people like Grizzly Bear. This is my favorite band ever and not many people have heard of it.
Aye just 191 million streams for their top song on Spotify
I think they probably failed at marketing, being as erudite as they were.
Ed Droste's voice has been coated in the concept of warmth and been given a smooth wood finish.
Michael Fiott as funny as this may seem. You are very right. It's not as say...treble heavy like in previous albums. Very smooth sounding.
@@Robert-dt3is you can hear the growth
First time chorus hits: "I bet this needs a re-listen, because after all it is Grizzly Bear"
Second time chorus hits: "My sins must have been forgiven because I'm in heaven"
simon moreta I liked it on my first listen. GOML
lol
ikr
Ya I noticed this too. Some of their songs, on the first listen, I'm like eh it's alright but I just don't like this one. Then after I listen to it again I'm like wait is this the same song? This is amazing. Grizzly bear is the only band that I like almost every single one of their songs.
i personally love when my leafchild comes in from years in the underbrush to sit and dine with me in couchpillow anonymity as i quietly pine for the floral wallpaper we call reality. (i need the woods.)
LaGuerre19
LaGuerre19 hell ye
Best comment ever LOL
Cinematic poetry
This is their song that hurts me the most.
Not often I find a song that I like instantly. This is a masterpiece. Now I must listen to the whole catalog.
These guys are amazing
This song is BEYOND. A masterful, triumphant album and song that should propel this band to Yes, Genesis, Police, Radiohead, status. This is shear brilliance. If you don't like this, you're probably dead inside.
That cleaning-sponge look is fire.
A lot of sincerity from Ed's voice
I miss Grizzly Bear :( i wish they would get back together
Every Grizzly Bear song takes me to another place, far away from anything that is ailing me at the current time. Like an escape from everything. The music videos are always perfect, deepening the immersion and giving a true window into another world. Grizzly Bear will always be my favorite for those reasons
Can't wait to hear the album in full form.
I love listening to individual songs but for me it's always the album experience that makes Grizzly Bear so special.
Kevin Ando I share your opinion! love album degustation
as for me..still remember my first vecktamist run through....goosebumps
Long live The Album :,(
Django Bones p
I'm glad I waited. Only song I heard before the release was Mourning Sound
Congratulations, this is a masterpiece, guys! I love how your videos always provide an alternative, parallel perspective in which to consume your music. Truly a Grizzly Bear-only type of experience! Can't wait for your new album.
Music is Win Awesome to know you like Grizzly Bear, love your videos man! Blessings from Puerto Rico.
welll put, friend ~round of applause*
👏👏👏👏
this song is beautiful, I loved the other new tracks, but this feels like a classic Grizzly Bear song, can't wait for the new album to come out!
Indeed
I don’t really know anyone who loves Grizzly Bear as much as I do. I remember I went to a Grizzly Bear concert in LA at The Wiltern. When the concert was finished, I remember looking down from the top floor at the people and I thought to myself “wow, all these ppl have fine taste in music. 😌My people get home safe.” ✨
This has so much Yellow House about it
Brennan Azzopardi thats why its the best thing they've released this year
Brennan Azzopardi nah
Yes
Can't wait for this album... This song sounds very new but it still has that classic Grizzly Bear sound.
[Verse 1]
And here we go again
I pick up a pen
I write your name down
With a sense of dread
Could see you for an hour
Conversation stalls
And after so long
There's nothing really there
[Chorus]
Face to face
We'll watch our bodies break
Not a care in the world
That's the way you play
Face to face
(But you left me broken)
We'll watch our bodies break
(But you left me helpless)
Not a care in the world
That's the way you play
[Verse 2]
Half a mile away
Could see you everyday
We never go there
And yet I don't care
With every passing day
Our history fades away
And I'm not sure why
There's nothing left to say
[Chorus]
Face to face
We'll watch our bodies break
Not a care in the world
That's the way you play
Face to face
(But you left me broken)
We'll watch our bodies break
(But you left me helpless)
Not a care in the world
That's the way you play
I hadn't even heard of Grizzly Bear until i heard Three Rings. This song is also amazing.
LISTEN TO VECKITAMEST/YELLOW HOUSE
Lee Berreth you're missing a whole lot of great music. You got to listen to their old albums (Yellow House, Veckitimist, Shields) and also Daniel Rossens solo stuff and his earlier stuff with Department of Eagles.
Give the costume designer for this video an award, please
Alexis Johnson is the best!!!
Nah
@@Terraceview keep that negativity over there in essex you british bastard
I'm almost tearful to discover these guys, in the barren wasteland of today's lacklustre music, they do that emotional chord thing, like Radiohead, remind me of Mercury Rev and Granddaddy, ethereal, slightly eerie and sonic.
This song it's from other word, i mean, galaxy, this is beyond earth. Its just magnificent, all the instrumental, percutions, guitars, and the Lyrics, all your new songs are amazing but this its on other level, a new classic in this new LP. I'm looking forward to see you guys in Corona Capital in Mexico City for the first time.
This music video moved me.... the ending especially had me tearing up. I really can't wait for their next album
What fucking ever
Lol
You know what's awesome?
Look at the comments for every song on this album.
There's at least one "This is my favorite song" for every song on this album. That's when you know you've made a complete gem front to back.
I'm just sitting here trying to figure out why I teared up during this. Grizzly Bear always uses the most haunting chord-progressions, I can't even describe the emotions they evoke in me. The Video played a role too. I get the sense of lovers becoming strangers because they know each other too well. They become like tame household objects to each.
Just the line "We'll watch our bodies break" over that insane chorus instrumental with the visuals. Chills and goosebumps like I got as a teenager.
Amazing work, Grizzly Bear.
on repeat blasting on headphones
Congratulations Grizzly Bear, here's another video I don't get
Lucas Claus they were all neighbors and their clothes were the things right next to them maybe to symbolize that humans become the environments they put themselves in idk just my take on it.
from the feral wilds to complacent domicile, we make happiness where we...in right company.
this is literally what you call pure music
beautiful song with beautiful visuals...
Really awesome video. The zoom is very effective. What I got that the video was trying to say is that we are all wild and beautiful, creative creatures, however eventually we become domesticated and we lose that wildness but try to hang on to that creative spark. And then, we have a child who is wild and creative and beautiful, but we domesticate them, and then in the end, with all our creativity and wildness snuffed out by domestic life, we become as boring and safe as the wallpaper that surrounds us.
this brings me back to the Veckatimest vibes, the only difference I can point out is that the drummer seems more developed and complex, even though I have liked him before too..it's just that the rhythm section is even better than usually on this album, 3 Rings is another example for me.
I just finished reading “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” and found this clip. A real masterpiece. Thank you little bear ❤
My favorite song.. so great.
This is what my 11 year old life has come to, listening to my favorite band at midnight. And I couldn’t be happier
Stay happy
Typed in "Grizzly Bear fight in neighborhood" and got here. Great song though
It's just been 10min at Max since I found Grizzly Bear and I fear this band will slowly become my favourite
THis video is stunning omg
I love how GB music makes you go places you never went before
Grizzly Bear, You are my ABSOLUTE Favorite Artist in the Entire world! Great Song!
I wrote this when i was 12, just wanted to let you guys know, I still listen to grizzly bear on the Daily. They are an Amazing band, and really make my life better sometimes. When I’m feeling down, I just pull up a Grizzly Bear song, and it brightens up my day. Anyways, Thank you, Grizzly Bear, for making Amazing songs and albums! Definitely keep up the Great work! Sincerely, one of your fans, Sam!
Amor desde México. ❤
Alan Lamu ¿Los verás en el CC?
Claro. Espero y no se junten con "alt-J". ¿Tú irás?
My 'Bears Ears' turned forward in delight by hearing this on the radio. An awesome album and one of my favorites of 2017
This song is a masterpiece and its underrated
Favourite song from painted ruins ❤️❤️
The fact that they broke up hurts the most. Their music was so unique.
are they split ?
This is easily their most profound tune since Ready, Able. Already listened to it a 1000x. I was afraid for this last album as I thought Shields was mediocre in the shadow of Veckatamest. I've been listening to them since they launched on myspace. Probably not something mentioned in polite conversation anymore.
Would you happen to know the grizzly bear music video thats in black and white? Thats all i can recall, its one if their lesser known songs.
@@ThirdDimensionalBeing "Everyone I know." Maybe, not sure.
@@maniswil2 Thank you.
@@ThirdDimensionalBeing Was that it?
@@maniswil2 it wasnt but i appreciate your response.
I am so overwhelmed by all the new music this summer. I can't take it.
I think this music video really expresses what depression can feel like in such an artistic and beautiful way. It that kind of disassociated feeling like you’re just blending into the background.
One of my favorite songs by this band who seem to advance musically with each album. Spectacular. I don't really pay a lot of attention the images but I like their approach to video. Abstract and meaningless(ful).
My favourite of all singles so far!
After everything they grow through and experience when the child arrives they all fade away representing each of their private lives and personalities fading as they change for each other.
The haunting draw of the bow across those cello strings... *chef's kiss*
masterpiece...
a visual representation of the dangling conversation
It makes me so happy to read some of these comments from people who respected them like they deserve.
This is a gift to anyone with ears.
This band just keeps getting better and better🖤
underrated
Beautiful song and video. Allowing music and video to be interpreted differently, results in an experience that means much more to those who choose to open their minds. To me the video speaks to how we have moved away from nature. We have become consumed by owning more, but our possessions end up owning us. Relationships are what's important, not possessions.
A very interesting thought !
Kind of reminds me of Oswald Spengler and Goethe and the seasons of relationships or seasons of civilizations.
@freakytea Brilliant! Thank you for this.
I was about to ask for some more perspective, but you're explanation is genius.
this is another great music from my favorite band! i just love how those boys harmonize the melodies in the way we would never expected
grizzly bear videos are the best
bruno k. ...surrealismo!...
Can you explain the meaning of it to me? I love their music so much and this song! just didn't get the video
I think it has to do with attachments that people have to things, or consumerism? The people seem to "become" what they're around and own....That's my thoughts on it, anyways :)
cygnusx211268 makes sense, thanks!
Totally bizarre in the best way
0:16 into a song and it already sounds perfect
It's so easy to get lost in this music. Some really amazing stuff happening here. Love the song and the new album!
Hey! That's John Ennis! I love that John is in a video of a band I adore.
Just listening to this you can feel autumn slowly edging near...
Maravilloso.
OMG THEY ARE WITH US AGAIN AND IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS NEW MUSIC ITS PERFECT
I love this song!!💖💖
I absolutely love this song!!
The lyrics to this song just hit me today. So close to a break up dealy where she literally lives half a mile away.
Grizzly Bear can sneak up on you like that.
Loved it, can't wait for the album to drop.
this is the second time that a grizzly bear song began with the words." here we go again.." ??? or am i wrong?
you are right. Hold Still
Ed Droste must be running out of lyrics
Ed is just saying: Here we go again with another beautiful and pure Grizzly Bear song!
Yet again starts with yet again so kind of?
That buildup to the chorus omg.
Today is my birthday thanks for the present!
Grizz is back! 2017 isn't pointless after all!
I've never been so happy 😭
Great song great band thanks for this
what a masterpiece! the best album of the year by far, and it came to my years pretty late
such a good song
Magnifique morceau,
Absolutely love the message I got from this. The end of the video was heartwarming.
I come here everyday
this album...SO GOOD
Rarely do I say that a song is "emotional" or "moves me". This song induces that rarity. Really just an awesome song, wish I understood it.
Amazing! *.*
wonderful song and video
Love it. This and war on drugs, lcd soundsystem and the national over the next few weeks. Gonna be costly.
can't wait to binge this album
I adore this song.. it is music to my ears , WELL DONE on your masterpiece .. SJ - UK
That's the way you play!! :)
TOP DRAW ! Beautiful.
L O V E L Y THIS ART!
Amazing!!!
I'm very happy with this song. Bravo
Maravilhoso ♥
