Blaxx’s real name is Dexter John Stewart, and he was born on December 21st 1964. Jerry Stewart, the father who created the band “Jerry and Slap Sticks,” started him on his musical adventure when he was thirteen years old, and has continued to develop him into the person he is today.
He then became a member of the popular band “Succession Brass,” where he went under the stage name “Blaxx” for eleven years. Following that, he went on to play in a variety of different bands, including “Atlantic,” “Byron Lee and the Dragons,” and “Blue Ventures,” among others.
Blaxx met Mr. Roy Cape, the legendary artist, in 1999 and was invited to become a member of his family of artists (Roy Cape All Stars). It is a matter of historical record that Mr. Blaxx gratefully accepted the post.
Fans have referred to him as a legend, and his passing is unquestionably a great loss to the music industry.

Thanks CITV for this Tribute to BLAXX. We didn't get to hear much of his non-Soca repertoire. This is refreshing hearing the other side of this entertainer. The voice of one of our cultural icons, a cultural legend extraordinaire has been silenced. Condolences to Dexter “BLAXX” Stewart’s family, members of D'ALL STARZ Band, his Management Team, Producers, Stage helpers, friends, loyal fans and supporters. May his soul R.I.P. We wish to send this message to all surviving families, relatives, local artistes, managers, musicians, producers, etc of our local and regional cultural fraternity. Apart from regularly seeing your personal physician (MD) please make it your business to also have at your side a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) local or foreign. There are a few in T&T. Go find them and let them be your 2nd point of call as regards your general health and wellbeing. Too many of our cultural ambassadors are falling to ill health. This needs to change.
