Oh this is so interesting ! Jeffrey my father-in-law was a antique dealer in Napoli and he told me that he loved when the Americans came...he said " they love Antiques and when the dealers seen Americans they would price it up... " So try to negotiate with them about the price as much as possible. He would travel to France and buy many Antiques and has a beautiful house stuffed with many treasures.....Have a wonderful trip...Greetings from an American residing in Germany 🇩🇪...P.S even at the lowest price don't show your interest, if you put it back down they will definitely go far down on their price.....but you are doing well with the negotiations...I know it's out of your comfort zone, but remember..you will never see them again lol
True! I'd always offer half of what they ask at foreign flea markets - if they hold fast to their original price, I'd say OK, then start walking away. Invariably they call you back with an offer of 3/4 the price, but I'd always stick to my original offer (which was probably still much more than they paid for it). Also, don't look too interested in a piece - they know they've got you then. As with American flea markets, the sellers don't want to haul all their stuff back home unsold (that's how I got a huge vintage ceramic Xmas tree for $20). Haggle!
Jeffrey, just so you know, you’re adorable when you’re tired! Thank you for taking us along on this beautiful adventure, the buildings, the architecture, the food, the markets, everything is so fun and enjoyable with you, showing us the way! You are appreciated❣️🐿
The owl is super cute. I always ask for a price on an item I don't want first so I could it put it down then I pick up an item I like - ask for a price, usually its price is usually quoted less.
Cyd in MD. What fun! We would shop for ourselves and friends' requests and then we'd mail it all home. Back in the day it was so convenient not to have to lug things to our next stop. My husband's parents always knew boxes would be coming to their address. My Mother-In-Law could hardly wait for us to get home...not to see us...but to find out what was in the boxes 🙂
Seems like the bartering over prices was very open. I loved the items there. Pottery and that bitossi lamp were amazing. Glass as always is stunning in Italy.
I've been to the Italian markets when I've visited dear friends, and like you, I didn't find many deals. I only bought two glass pieces. Everything was market value or higher. You did well, and I hope you cherish your experience.
Wow Jeffery, you got some really amazing small pieces. I have a small collection of owls and the one you bought is so pretty. Can't wait till your live sale when you get back. You've got to keep some of the pieces. I'm so enjoying your videos of your trip, I'm so glad that you decided to go to Italy! 😎
I know I will never make it to Italy and seeing through you makes it fun. I do hope you are having a good time. That market looks fantastic. Love seeing your posts Jeffrey., have a safe trip.
Thank you Jeffery for letting us come with you, on this trip. Such interesting things. Did the lady buy the PINOCCHIO? It was cute. How much is 100 euros? Hope you found some lovely things.
I recently heard to ask if they will take a lower price, instead of asking if they will take $10 instead of $15, for instance. It gives the seller the chance to offer a price, and it my be lower than what you would have asked. You can always negotiate if you aren't happy with what they say.
Oh Boy, Jeffrey, What amazing items at this flea market! Seriously, you need to buy an extra large suitcase to bring back from this trip. Love the stained glass lamps. love the silver overlay vases - Watching this video again to see what all I missed!! A trip of a lifetime.❤❤ 💞
Hey Jeffrey!! This is my first day to see you!!! I am from Birmingham, Alabama and look forward to being a subscriber to your channel. Loved your Italian shopping adventure!!!
So many neat things to peruse Paying duty, crunchability factor, can l find this at home, price, room and weight of my luggage...sigh. Fun to see it again, Jeffery! Can't wait to see your finds.
Jeffrey, a doctor once told me that for every cup or glass of caffeinated beverage I drink, I should drink the same amount of plain water. It is supposed to help counteract the caffeine and keep you hydrated. It works so far for me, when I remember of course. It is interesting to see all of the items for sale and what they cost. If I ever get to go, I'll definitely need to take lots of cash and a backpack to carry my haul. Is it easy to mail things back home from your hotel? I don't think I'd like dragging my purchases from town to town. So much fun to watch you have so much fun!
Oh my - I wouldn't know what to choose! I would try to find something I don't see here, I guess - the owl was adorable and the little tray is awesome too - the trip seems really fun!👍👏😊
LOVE Italy! I was wanting you to buy the blue milk glass. Also I want you to pronounce Cloisonné. I am part French CLWASONEAH. Then you can be a good reseller with a good accent too 😊 Ciao!
Clock repair people are becoming rare. I had a huge coin collection. As time went😮😮 by I sold off all my foreign coins and just collected USA and USA paper. I ending up selling most of it to put a roof on my old part of the house from the 1800’s. I had enough to buy my car at the time. New Ford 500. Loved that car.
Fun fact, there are very many different 2 euro coins, and even special ones ,where not to much were made,or to remember special occasions.they are widely collected, and some are even quite expensive
The Art Deco clock was designed for traveling on a train. You could open it to see your loved ones and set the clock on your nightstand. Did you get it?
I'm so glad you brought us along on your trip. It's been so much fun living vicariously through you!

This is my favorite flea market in Rome. It’s so packed with goodies.
I loved that last piece you picked up - the little hand painted tray - gorgeous stuff!
The owl is super cute. I always ask for a price on an item I don't want first so I could it put it down then I pick up an item I like - ask for a price, usually its price is usually quoted less.
Great strategy, I will try to do this in the future!!
The Flower Frog was Spectacular!! Lots of fun finds… yea Jeffrey!😊
It was so much fun to shop along with you at a flea market in Rome!🐢
The votive holder with the houses on it is modern. Done with FIMO clay.
Love to see you living your best life! I was wondering if everything you purchased was for re- sale- hoping you kept some things for yourself!❤
The clock is nice that closes.

The day I arrived in Italy, my luggage broke on the cobblestones. I mailed it back via boat. Around $30 & took 1 month to reach the US.
Seems like the bartering over prices was very open. I loved the items there. Pottery and that bitossi lamp were amazing. Glass as always is stunning in Italy.
I am having a fun time with you in Italy-thanks for taking me along!

I've been to the Italian markets when I've visited dear friends, and like you, I didn't find many deals. I only bought two glass pieces. Everything was market value or higher. You did well, and I hope you cherish your experience.
