- Johnny Depp visited York on Tuesday 07/06/22 as part of his UK tour with the guitar legend Jeff Beck. Fans waited for hours to see him, and after the show had finished Johnny came out to sign items for fans and take selfies.
Johnny has previously collaborated with his musician friend Jeff Beck on the 2020 track ‘Isolation’ and people travelled from far and wide for this sold out show.

Hi Corrinne! He had just played a sold out gig and some people had waited outside 7 or 8 hours in the hope of just seeing him! There was a really great atmosphere of excitement as people were just so happy to see him and many were lucky enough to get his autograph! A real legend :)

It was indeed a big crowd, but very friendly. They’ve got a difficult job trying to keep him safe in that situation. His team tried to get him to see as many fans / sign as many things as possible though before he had to go.

It was a great atmosphere, and Johnny seemed in really good spirits! He was well looked after by Malcolm and the rest of the team, but the crowd was super friendly.

It’s hard to watch this video. On one hand you are so happy for him and he deserves all the love coming his way, on the other he must feel overwhelmed by it and he can’t please all these huge crowds of fans wanting a piece of him. I’m slightly annoyed at the fans wanting him to sign merch. It makes me think their intentions are for profit not fandom. I’m so hoping he is sober. Thanks for watching and you make some very good points. I think a lot of people wanted to be there to just show their support, and some people had waited all day in the hope of seeing him. From what I saw and the people I spoke to, most seemed to be really genuine fans, and there was a real buzz of excitement in the air. For a small city like York it was a really big deal to have such a major star visit, and I really hope he was happy and enjoyed it, it seemed like he did :)
