Of course, Amanda's Task Force X fails against Brainiac. I like how Kara is still willing to fight to save the Earth, despite Brainiac using her to destroy worlds and regardless of how the people of Earth see her. She definitely did better than Task Force X.
Superman could do this himself if he wanted to but he’s always holding back so he doesn’t know the full scale of his power

Moreover here it's possible that Kara was at least trying not to seriously hurt her newfound cousin. She was also emotionally and mentally dealing with a lot of heavy stuff. So I'm pretty sure she wasn't at her best either.
They both have room to grow and that will be nice to see. No need to turn it into a competition.

They took samples from Superman's ship and Lex synthesized it.
In this canon, Kryptonite is a bioweapon of sort that 'infects' _anything_ Kryptonian (since their tech is kinda alive), so it's not that hard to proliferate.
