AWSOME WORK JEFF
So, if you're wondering how I got the line art onto the black shirt - obviously it's not chalk or pencil - it went like this: 1) I sketched the art onto a piece of paper. 2) I scanned the image into Photoshop on my computer. 3) I sized the image, and printed it (standard paper) with a dye sublimation printer. 4) I dusted the black shirt with white paint so the black lines would show. 5) I placed the shirt onto a heat press, and pressed the sublimated paper face down onto the shirt for a couple of seconds leaving the outline on the shirt.
Normally I would just freehand the art using my sketch as a reference, but I wanted it to look really good for the video!! :D
ⓢⓞ,ⓘⓕ ⓨⓞⓤ,
is the shirt 100% cotton?
Create, Copy your image and project the image onto the shirt using an LED HDMI projector, enlarge/reduce and then focus as needed, trace the image onto the shirt and freehand as you did in the vid. I use to use a plotter using spray masking as stencil and found using the projector cut down on a lot of time, however most images I can free hand on the fly and use the projector for images with great detail. Time is money and hope this helps.
Awesome vid, your graff art is dope!!!!
Thanks a lot!
You’re over it, dude. I love it. Would love to have one of your TShirts, although I do some myself, but they’re far away from your dope ones!
Gitarrennarr
Thanks bud... I wouldn't mind checking out some of your artwork. Do you have a website, Facebook or ig?
Jeff Copeland No, I don‘t use any of those networks, since I‘m a paranoidish guy :)
I‘m coming with a Graffiti background from 1988-1993 ... old man already. Adapting wallpainting to microsize on shirts isn‘t easy at all for me.
I cannot take the details from the scetch to the shirt yet, although I already draw with no nitty-gritty tiny things. Need to practice more obviously.
In the meantime I enjoy watching the Pro-dude on youtube, doing crazy stuff on shirts ;)
Thanks for sharing your skills
So dope!!
Thanks!
Hey Jeff. love your vids.
What advice can you give a beginner on how to trace or pre draw on black shirt for a design like this.? Need to make a shirt for my nephew on a blackish shirt.. please help. Thank you 😊
Show me How to fix Air Brush to that small compressor. Show with full kit....Thank You!!!
hola casi no se escucha la pelicula...es excelente
First off, great skills. Second, where are you base out of and do you do orders? Third, this instrumental was perfect. Not to loud and crazy. I liked the flow of it, going along with the sounds of the airbrush. Keep up the great work.
Thanks. I'm in a mall in Louisville, KY.
Are you also an airbrush artist?
Jeff Copeland Oh, ok. Not too crazy far. I'm in Cleveland, OH
Jeff Copeland No, I'm not. I am an artist though. Sketch and cartoons. Got a lot of recognition for my name arts similar to what you do. I did do a few classes for airbrushing.
Great stuff mate! I've gotten quite a few comments on the T-shirt!!
Rebel Nomad
Thanks... All good comments I hope!
Haha absolutely!
o the airbrush annd shoot/spray technique
I just watched my own shirt get made
Cool how much u pay for the piece?
1 more question how would you transfer an image you have drawn onto dark fabric or without sublimation and how would you transfer something like that onto a piece of metal? What would be the difference between the 2. Thanks for the help
Melinda Zimmerman
Normally I would just freehand the artwork, but I could have also cut a paper stencil. That would also work on metal.
Does the hair dryer just speed up the dry time of the paint or does it soften the edge of the paint? Thanks! Love your vids!
Thanks! The hair dryer speeds up the dry time of the paint... which makes it cover better... which makes it look brighter.
Jeff Copeland I did notice the more GLOW effect it gave.
🔥🔥
Also did you put down a touch of white 1st before placing the drawing on it so it shows up better against the black or did u put down a little transparent base to put down the lint? Im trying to learn and black is the hardest. I love your graffiti skills
I'm sorry nevermind I see you put it in the comments already thank you
Melinda Zimmerman
Yes, I dusted it with white paint first.
How did you transfer the drawing onto the black shirt?what's your way of doing it cause that looks great!
Melinda Zimmerman
Hi, I pinned a comment to the top that explains my process.
If you don't mind me asking, Which brand of white paint did you use?
Eric Holloway
It's a mixture of Etac and Aqua Flow. Etac is a bit too thin, and Aqua Flow is a bit thick... But together they are awesome.
Jeff Copeland ....lol....I use a mixture of Aqua flow and Wicked!
Eric Holloway
Aqua Flow just seems to make everyones white better
Jeff Copeland ...I have heard Pat Gaines say that the Etac paints are very forgiving on tip dry..but I am a die hard Wicked paints user...lol
just wondering do you have a CISS on that sub?
CISS?
@@JeffCopeland1560 continuing Ink Supply system.
One of those side tanks you put on your printer to give you a continuous ink Supply
@@ez-airbrush yes, we get it from Cobraink.com
Do you use one as well?
@@JeffCopeland1560 I been looking in to getting one ,but I hear they can clog and break your print head.
45-50 PSI ??? Too dry gets ya every time when you are in the flow ....what manifold are you running ?
I'm using closer to 65 psi. It's not a manifold... Just one quick disconnect (female end) on my hose, and one male end on each of my airbrushes.
Hey Jeff what kind of green r u using there?
Aqua Flow - hot green
music sounds nice maan🤙
Why did u use the hair dryer?
The Boss the paint dries a little as it leaves the brush and doesnt get a absoebed into the shirt
Great video and amazing work...how much do you charge for the time you put into a piece like this? Or if it was on a light colored shirt? I'm sorry I don't mean to put you on the spot..most folks don't like discussing their prices like this..
Nice Bro :)
