It’s a shame that some people can’t deal with Dani’s tone. His lyricism is above and beyond almost anyone in metal but you have to dig to appreciate it.
So guys if you haven't been into lyrics yet , this is one of the saddest stories....Love, jealousy, rape, murder, revenge...it has it all!!! Dani is a brilliant story teller!
I don't think I wrong in saying this but Dani took a break from studying English literature to start a band. And is still in that Band. Hence why his Lyrics are the way they are.
@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast Interesting fact, from a music theory standpoint, they actually follow the proper conventions to be an actual aria. Very cool, one of my favorites
Dani Filth once said "We make fairytales for adults." I think he describes it very good. About his vocals: You definately hear he had a complete opera education.
There are some good translations, so I don't mind trying to figure it out what he's saying, I read along 😂 Too hard for me. I do understand some of the Slipknot's, Epica's, Gojira and some others screamers. stuff's though.
I love dani's voice have forever.. Its one of those you love it or hate it things i guess... Kindof like KING DIAMOND .. Hopefully you do TWILIGHT SYMPHONY by K.D. But also the musical help the songs i believe if you go along with the lyrics its like sections of a play and different musical scores in a play...
A gothic romance is another highly recommended but their music is all decent Doug Bradley (Hellraiser) did some voice work on this album Dani is the best vocalist with changes id like to see you react to Born in a burial gown , Cradle to enslave , etc
The imagery in his poetry is just insane, he's up there with the greaters storytellers of music in general. Nice to re-listen to this classic, it's been a while since the last time I listen to a COF's song, and now I'm thinking I'm stupid, how could I? Anyway, you both are great, really good and funny imputs all along. From a brazilian friend ✌
Dani’s Shakespearean prose can be a bit hard to swallow for many, at least at first. But lyricism is inarguably one their greatest strengths. The guy at the beginning is literally doing a Shakespearean “Preamble”, btw.
ry and. Cool. Seeing this. Set. Thay no how too take you into the place es. Another world. His. Song s. Are. A history. And a mista rey. Dani filth can. Blow your mind. He can show you thangs that. I would. Be. Shock t min d blow n. Ama zed. At. I. Believe in vampires and ghost
For sure the full song completes the song. he show cases his long screams( howling wolf scream) guitars more melodic and piano playing with the drums. I would give it a listen, it changed my perspective of the song. Also the beginning voice is pinhead from hellraiser!!!!!
You should check out Devilment Sanity hits a (perfect) Zero, Imagine a more traditional metal song with Dani Fitlhs vocals. Also, highly recommend the whole album Damnation and a Day, that whole album is a complete story in CoF form.
Might I suggest a comparison reaction? I suggest listening to Iron Maiden's version of Hallowed Be Thy Name. Then, immediatly after that I suggest the Cradle of Filth version of the same song. Both will blow you away. Me personal preference is the Cradle version.
If you are looking for a good vocal contrast, may I suggest the band Amorphis song "Amongst Stars featuring Anneke van Gierbergen" also if you're liking Cradle, you might want to look into Dimmu Borgir.
It would be awesome to devote a day of the week to do a new cradle song. They have an insane amount of great songs. I would highly recommend “Bathory Aria” off of Cruelty and the Beast.
Someone else mentioned King Diamond. Listen to how he uses his voice to portray various characters as he tells a story, going from deep to high pitched.
Unfortunately, the video cuts the song almost in half, so you don't get the whole narrative. Give the album song a listen with the lyrics, you'll get the whole story.
Every person on the internet would keep suggesting the older Cradle of Filth so, even though Bathory aria is a highly favorite among the fans, I want to suggest Yours immortally from the Hammer of the witches album
I would recommend Lillith Immaculate off Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa. It's one of their most intense songs tbh, gets you right off the start with a really high tempo and almost never lets you go
Thanks for the. Comin ts. Keep them. Come ing. I want. The band and. Dani filth too be proud ov. Me. Kasey Leigh Kelly 5hat. Is. That's right. Dani filth I want you too. Be. Please d. With me. Kasey Leigh Kelly

You guys are awesome. Thank you for making great content/commentary. This has been a tough year for me in alot of ways and you guys have helped me get through it. Still SO underrated. You guys should and will have a larger following.
I really hate black metal, but I kind of don't put them in that category just because of their uniqueness, and the sheer talent. A real great band. Also they made a horror movie. You might want to check out.
"Radio play", that's funny! Dani is one of the best lyricist in metal. He growls, shrieks, sings clean and dirty. Few have his range. Ive been a fan since '95, and many of their songs are on my playlist. Absinthe and Faust is one of my favorites. Thanks for reacting to these guys, its been a treat!
One of the things I really appreciate about this song is the song structure how it can tell the story along with conveying the main characters emotions
I have been listening Cradle Of Filth for over 13 years. Along with Dimmu Borgir. I love them. There's nothing spooky about it for me. It's part of my psyche. But especially the text of "HER GHOST IN THE FOG " for me is INCREDIBLE. Very, very strong and deep. Just an amazing dark romance. It's hard to grasp that there's actually a romance underneath it all. But it is what it is.
If you do more reactions you must include original version of ”Falling In Love With You” by the group VOITH. Is in my top 10 of all Goth songs 🖤🖤🖤 Loving your channel
saw em live at tattoo the planet 2001 hovet. stood at the very front and got gians autograph after the show. was awesome, but had to sit through in flames before. man they suck
Love that reaction guys :) If you want more epic story telling song by COF then listen 1.Bathory Aria (Remixed and Remastered) 2.A Gothic Romance And for very beautiful performance check Cradle of Filth-Malice Through the Looking Glass live 97
There isn't a music video for it, but I would recommend reacting to a lyric video of Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids. That, or Lord Abortion. Lord Abortion was my favorite song in high school, growing up in a conservative southern baptist household with every aspect of me going against that dogma (sexuality, gender, likes in music, video games, literature, science, movies, clothes, etc.), and that song (as offensive as it is, but that was kinda the point), that song got me through that. Only reason I still give it so much weight today compared to their other songs. Bathory Aria, and any of their music videos if you want the extra views, are also fantastic as well!.
The actor at the beginning sitting in the forest is David McEwen..but as stated earlier it's Doug Bradley who does the voice over, Mr McEwen plays the character Kemper in the film 'Cradle of Fear' along side Dani Filth..really good cheesy horror check it out.
Dani rocks 5 octaves. Like it or don't, he's most likely better than your favorite vocalist. That's not even accounting for lyrics... one of the greatest writers you'll ever read regardless of the media... period! Like it or don't you're witnessing true greatness
People will say many things about Dani but one thing he definitely is, he's a lyricist. The man can write poems, stories and just wild lyrics. He has a gift for it
That's the point of Danis scream. He's attempting to mimic a Banshee which in celtic lore is a sign of bad omen or death. That's also what bagpipes are supposed to mimic. A screaming Banshee
This song is basically about a witch / woman that was tried and pretty much excluded and charged as a witch which ultimately brought her fate but not before being raped by five men and killed by them as well get your facts straight and know what your talking about
Cradle of Filth is hated by the community because they are famous. Metal heads are difficult that way. Their music is too well produced for the black metal fans, too theatrical for death metal fans. Just like Behemoth, wich is a band you should react to next.
josh was saying in the previous video he wanted heavier cradles songs so id like to suggest from cradle to enslaved which is an earlier one (their demos are really heavy) and foetus of a new day kicking!
It’s a shame that some people can’t deal with Dani’s tone. His lyricism is above and beyond almost anyone in metal but you have to dig to appreciate it.
Am listening to Cradle since their first record and I still love their storytelling, Dani is just a beast, vocally and story lyrics!
This has always been a favorite of mine. It's such a sad and brutal story.
Scorched earth erotica by Cradle of filth (uncesored version) really cool song
So guys if you haven't been into lyrics yet , this is one of the saddest stories....Love, jealousy, rape, murder, revenge...it has it all!!! Dani is a brilliant story teller!
I don't think I wrong in saying this but Dani took a break from studying English literature to start a band. And is still in that Band. Hence why his Lyrics are the way they are.
Dani never studied any English literature at all.
He simply reads lots of it and is English.
He combined poetry with horror.
Honestly one of my favorite Cradle of Filth songs is 'Cemetary and Sundown'. That and 'Fetus of A New Day Kicking'
Fun note - the guy speaking the intro in the beginning is none other than Doug Bradley from "HellRaiser"
If you want to review any Thrash bands, my current 2 favorite Thrash bands are Warbringer and Havok. Check out anything of theirs.
This lovely girl must listen to my dying bride before the end of the world. Something from the album the angel and the dark river
Anything from the Midian album, Damnation and a Day album, or Cruelty and the Beast album
lol believe or not, back then cradle of filth was ban here, they had to refund the tickets , the heydays
That was not the whole song...in case you didn't know.
Also fun fact the vocals in the begging are Doug Bradley ( pinhead ) from hellraiser
That is pretty dope. Definitely add to the song!
@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast absolutely, Doug Bradley has such a powerfully dark voice, he definitely channeled his inner Cenobite. XD
that is fact
Wonderful actor, sadly passed away.
@@christopherwashburn8163 I believe he is still alive and kicking?
If you truly want to hear Cradle's Bohemian Rhapsody, search for Bathory Aria. 11 minutes plus of absolute epicness.
Actually that sounds great🖤🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast I hope to see a reaction to it :D It's basically a song in three acts, sort of.
@@ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast Interesting fact, from a music theory standpoint, they actually follow the proper conventions to be an actual aria. Very cool, one of my favorites
You mean Queen of Winter, Throned surely!
@@MardyBum100291 No, I meant what I said. Bathory Aria is one of Cradle's finest songs.
Shame that this is an edited version of the song. The ending is cut off.
Listening to this version was always the guilty pleasure of mine. That ending riff in the fade out sounds so amazing.
Dani Filth once said "We make fairytales for adults." I think he describes it very good. About his vocals: You definately hear he had a complete opera education.
Listen to "tearing the veil of grace". My favorite cradle song.
I second this wholeheartedly.
I thrice agree
Yes, Dani's poetry precisely fits the therm "gothic" ) Now imagine how to read it being non a native english speaker )
is so fucking hard to get everything he’s saying, i need to search the meaning of A LOT of words, but it’s cool tho, a good exercise
There are some good translations, so I don't mind trying to figure it out what he's saying, I read along 😂 Too hard for me. I do understand some of the Slipknot's, Epica's, Gojira and some others screamers. stuff's though.
Даа, но когда ты потихоньку знакомишься с английским и возвращаешься к их текстам то открываешь для себя невероятную красоту.

Please react to “The Promise” by Within Temptation from live dvd BlackSymphony you will enjoy this performance... Greetings from Mexico...🙏🤘🏻
Cradle of filth lyrics are probably about the most amazing lyrics of any band.. I love that you read the lyrics at the end
Oh and this video cuts out like half the song. It didn't even have the breakdown which is the best part
Please, react to Cradle of Filth - Born in a burial gown.
And more important to Sylosis - To Build a tomb.
Greetings from Argentina.
Not sure why you call it a "lyric breakdown" when all you do is read them and not discuss them.
Check out the actual lyrics to the song and the story is much worse that you may have realized...
I don't like this video of the song as it leaves out half the song. You should watch the lyric video.
Listening to Filth without a lyric sheet is criminal. He is probably the best lyricist going.
The female singer is Sarah Jezebel Deva...she was with COF for awhile but left and made a solo career. She has many good songs as well solo.
I had heard a few years back that the person who reads the poetry for cradle of filth is the same guy who played pin head from hell raiser.
Do Promise of Fever next. Or Principle of Evil made Flesh. They are my favorite COF songs.
Love Dani's vocals. Creepy and intensely sexual like Manson.
Thought of a great video for your Halloween videos.
White chapel - when a demon defiles a witch
I'm kind of in both of your worlds. This is one of my favorites for this band and what poetry!
Holy crap. A whole section of the song was missing there. lol
