Bravo!
@@IddovdGiessen and always remember Karl Richter's words: "Bach has to be played always cantabile". A paraphrase of Bachs own words in his introduction to his inventions 😉
To play such a large piece without any changes of manuals seems to me a little bit anachronistic and unexciting: It is a style of interpretation developped by the 1960-80s based on around J.S. Bach but not by Bach himself. In the meantime there are new results in musicology that say that this type of interpretation has not too much to do with Bach's practice. He is like to have changed regularly manuals and also colours!
It can work on fine organs with a fine plenum, but I share your appreciation of some changes in colours and registration. Sometimes I apply those to quite a large extent, for example in the B minor fugue. In this performance, there are changes between different plena and manuals in the fugue.
tucu2. I would like to know more about the research that concludes that Bach alternated between manuals and changes registration in one and the same piece. Peopl who have to have those changes are not able to perceive the music as compositions, they are only able to hear the different sounds. I am mightily impressed by the prelude, that composition is truly a masterpiece! Any change of timbre is just annoying interruptions in the melody lines. Until I learn more about the qualifications of those musicologists, I refuse to believe that Bach voluntarely «ruined» his fantastic prelue with interruptions. tucu2, give me the search!
The middle voices are heroic on this instrument. Excellent performance.
Thank you!

Nevertheless the interpretation shown is quite lively and very well phrased and articulated as well. The historic organs sounds marvellous per se.
