We had a toy like this growing up. It was called Big Loader and it's sequel set Big Big Loader, and you could even combine the two sets to make one large contraption. It worked exactly like these, only the motor in the "train" chassis driving all the mechanisms. There were even some other types of mechanisms in those, maybe they could be inspiration for you to expand your setup!
Great to show usage and great explanations of the train system. Is there any information regarding the module that is in the middle of the layout as there doesnt appear to be anythinf on your Rebrickable.
They are all build exactly the same but some have a favorite machine or have a problem with the narrow curves. Train number three always derails and the end of the right narrow curve so I have to use a different train number. Train number 4 gets stuck in the Rotary Dumper, the reverser doesn't get behind the 15L beam to reverse the train. I have no idea why they behave different.
