There XDS01 is a must have drywall tool for me. If it breaks tomorrow another will be ordered. I should have probably ordered a backup a couple of years ago as the tool has gone up $60 since I bought it over 3 years ago.

It is extremely convenient. I plan to do a comparison with the Vecturo to see if it is comparable.

@daddysharespace the Vecturo or any good OMT has it beat in the 90s because the XDS01 base prevents it from getting into the corners.
But out in the field of the wall/ceiling, the xds is hard to beat. I bought the 3d printed adapter for the Festool hose for mine on Etsy.
Another pro to the xds is the blades. While they are proprietary, they do last a long time. Even with hitting screws regularly, since drywall is soft, the blades just keep going for a hundred patches before replacement.
I also think it has decent dust collection without an extractor.
The cons, imo are the proprietary blades, no imperial markings for tool-less plate adjustment. Detents at 1/2 and 5/8 for the American market would be cool. Although I keep mine set at 1/2 " and pull the base plate cover off for 5/8.
Obviously, not being able to get tight into the 90s is a con as well.
I do a lot of drywall repair, finishing, and painting so the xds has paid for itself many times over.

Thanks for the insight. I did not think about 90 corners as I have only tried it on an open wall.
The 3d printed adapter is a great idea.
3d printers seem to provide a lot of utility.
Blade depth markings would be nice but, your idea to leave the tool at 1/2 and remove the base for 5/8 cuts displays skillful knowledge of the tool. I appreciate the share as I will adopt that method for myself.

How do you like the makita dry wall cutter? Do you think it can cut through plywood as well? With a different blade maybe? I was considering picking that up.

This is what I have found.
Designed to cut openings in installed board with an adjustable blade depth up to 1-3/16" (9/16" in wood)

They sell a wood blade for this tool. I believe it's made for plaster work versus drywall.
