Follow-up! I've been using it for a few months now, and just love it. The other programs I have can also do this, but they are a pain in the patootie to set up, and this is so simple to set up and use, I really depend on it now. Perfect! Thanks, Jewel
Chris, you’ve been so helpful to me on my journey with Cubase and music production in general. I have moved on to a new DAW now (Reaper) but many of the skills I’ve taken with me are from you. Just wanted to say thanks for what you do! I’ll continue to watch regardless. 🎉
Thanks for letting me know. Glad my videos helped you out. Since my videos are not all Cubase related, you will be well served on this channel, thanks for your support, my friend!
Thanks, this is perfect for my needs! Been using Ozone 10's, but often I'm not in Ozone, so this is perfect. Thanks for keeping the discount open. Jewel
Great video as always! And thanks for that added discount for Perception AB. Been on my radar for a while, so this made me pull the trigger on it :) Cheers.
Hey Chris! Can you do a tutorial on how to get Cubase working with OBS on Mac? Noticed you’re using a Mac and would love to know how you get the audio out of Cubase to make these videos
Hi Chris, thanks for the video. Very helpful. It's also nice to get a good view of your new studio setup. : ) I'm looking to replace my monitor and am impressed by yours as you can see the entire Cubase channel strip on it. Please can you tell me what its dimensions are. : ) Many thanks, Darren (Wales, UK)
I really like the idea behind this! But it only partially solves the problem as setting it up might take as long as matching loudness manually (and be done with it). To be of further workflow benefit the technology would have to be integrated in every plugin you use down the line, matching loudness automatically when toggling plugins on or off. Like this loudness deception could easily be ruled out for every decision you make. I also wonder (not as a criticism but out of real curiosity) how technology like this takes into account that volume is not perceived equally over the audio spectrum?
Glad you liked the idea ! One of the features Chris didn't mention is the ability to add Perception AB to as many channels as you like, all at once. In this case it auto-configures, making setup really quick & easy - literally just a few mouse clicks. To answer your other question, Perception AB uses LUFS to measure loudness, which attempts to take the sensitivity of the ear to different frequencies into account. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good, working really well on 90% of music. Hope that helps !
You can use it anywhere other plugins can be used, yes. Only on mono or stereo channels though, right now, and the mastering features won't apply since there isn't a master "bus" as such in Atmos.
Nice plugin, but too expensive considering that I can manually duplicate its function using other metering plugins I already have. In fact what this video has done is encourage me to simply set up the necessary extra bus with metering on my mixing template. So thanks for the idea. If it was half the price I might consider buying it…maybe.

When it comes to mixing tutorials, it doesn't matter what DAW you use. In any DAW, you can still apply the techniques that Chris teaches

extra helpful, as always !
Glad you think so!
Very cool! Thanks so much.
Very welcome!

Amazing video. Does thIs plugin works the same way as Volume Buddy from Ableton Max For live?

Thanks for watching. My main monitor is a 32 inch, 4K display, and I used my old 27 inch monitor as my bottom one.
How do you you comp live drums with multiple takes in Cubase 12 Pro?
@mixdownonline Have you tried Hornet's CLMS? I think it does the same thing... Maybe you should try for another video.
No, I didn't! I will look it up!
Cubase should have a loudness compensation tool for ABing! thanks!
It would be nice, but I don't think any DAW offers this.

@@ProductionAdvice Sounds fantastic, thank you for the clarification! I'll definitely check it out.
Does this plugin apply when mixing in atmos 7.1.4?

it doesnt work for binaural, as binaural loudness is measured differently. However it is good for stereo, and referencing binaural to stereo by A/B
Don't miss GainMatch VST. Same idea and costs 15 $.
Interesting........I believe ozone 10 has something similar. I could be wrong though.
Yes, Ozone 10 has something similar when Mastering within Ozone itself, if I'm not mistaken

Yes, always start with the tools you already have. Glad the video gave you some ideas :-)
Is there a video showing you mixing this song?
Not for now. The single will be released in September. Make sure you're on my mailing list, I might offer a full mixing breakdown of this song.
@@mixdownonline Please… thanks!
Very good soft master! can I like 2 times somehow Xd.... I sent you email Chris
Seems complicated.
