When cooking channel is not just about food and the ingredients but also, it's about the utensils and the story behind it.
This is why I love your content. You show to us something different that we thought we don't want to know but turns out, we actually DO want to know.
Don't stop showing to us this kind of content Tina!
There's something so soothing about watching a master doing their craft. Wether i'd be a bladesmith or a highly skilled chef, it's always amazing to see someone make their form of art.
This is a very good episode. Is there a way we can order knives from them? And ship it overseas (europe)?
I'd love to know too if possible
Me too
Yes, there should be information about that!!
Can I purchase and have shipped to Australia
I hope your video inspires more craftspeople into being. Bladesmithing is a personal favorite, very impressive to see third generation skills in action. The end brought me to tears💖
Such a cool video, being able to see the time and effort put into handmade knives and hilighting the skill required for the process. Love this type of video dooby 💕
What a beautiful video! Heartwarming. And it's wonderful to see a young person appreciating the master and his craft. Thank you! ❤
bruh the editing here is so good!! it felt like a documentary!!!
I always love how you incorporate beautiful narratives in every of your vlog. As a literature student myself, I know it's sometimes hard to make such beautiful narratives without being condescending. So kudos Tina!!
This was one of the coolest most beautiful video I've watched this year. Thank you so much for sharing!
This was so beautifully made, Tina. My favorite video out of all the wonderful videos you've made. I love the way that you're telling people's stories through your medium and can't wait to see all the amazing work you'll continue to do!
That image at 22:54 would be a GREAT photo to see in your restaurant. To know there is such joy behind the process of the restaurant, even though it might only be a small influence.
Dang, Koreans have such a respect for honing skills and fine touch over a LONG time. This is an excellent example - what an awesome watch!
I hope she will continue this approach to content creation. She seems to have a knack for it.😅
@@DaestrumManitz definitely. I would love to see more in this vein!
"but knives to me are my life, knives are only an object but I think of it as a version of myself, if I don't sharpen and take care of myself, i'll be dull and useless" - Mr. Kim
you made me cryyy Tinaaaa
this video is so beautiful, he reminds me of my grandpa
❤
This is so beautiful to witness, there's a world in cooking, but there are so many more worlds with the equipment that supports cooking. I'm happy I got to watch this. We can only hope art forms like this never die. I hope to own a knife like that someday.
This is one of the best knife making videos I’ve watched , the way you describe , the flow the music, the story about him ,was excellent , there was also a feeling of a father and daughter , and when he gifted you the knife , I found it very touching… keep it up …😊
Totally awesome with a Tear of joy in the end ;) thanks for all the videos you make, they make me happy too
My eyes shed liquid, so beautiful! I hope Mr. Kim gets many more clients and money!!
Wow.. so much respect for the craftmanship, dedication, passion, diligence of this man. And so much respect and applause to you sista for the artsy, beautiful way you structured, edited, and told this man's story! Love this so much and love where your journey in life is taking you!
This is my most favorite video ever on your channel😭😭😭
This video is amazing. I'm really happy with your content!. Shout out to you and your amazing team !!
I'm from Syria Damascus and seeing you using Damascus steel is very pleasing and it makes me very happy
Wow Doobz... this is so legit. You are an amazing person and this channel kicks ass. Please keep it up. Shall I say "keep feeding me". This is so great. Thank you.
Amazing video. Thank you for that. I loved the storytelling and even shed a tear at the end. Could not have been a better video honoring the craftsmanship
I just BALLED my eyes out. You are so sweet. Good luck with the opening! I am so excited to see your progression 💖
So a few thing makes the strength as it is and I think the biggest thing is that this knife is forged and not cast. If you scratch the surface of metal work defining a forged piece of metal is something hammered and drilled into its shape, cast there is a mold of the shape you want and is poured into a mold which makes a metal weaker. Another thing is the metal used and what the alloy is made of. Steel is iron+ other metals and the ratios of iron+other metals is what changes metallurgical properties. Corrosion resistance, edge retention, hardness or brittleness and malleability.
This was absolutely amazing and beautiful. I wish I could take one back to the States with me. The value is showcasing how much effort goes into this craft is wonderful. As someone who loves to cook as well, this hit an emotional chord with me. Such a beautiful story and process.
Thank you for sharing! Hope to visit your restaurant while we're here in Korea!
I cry. This was beautiful and inspirational. Thank you for sharing his story and being a wonderful human being. Inside and out.
Not you always providing us with the most heartfelt videos of the truest gems! Thank you, always for sharing!
This is one your best interview and I’m glad she gave us more insight on what goes into making knives also this made me appreciate blacksmiths so much more thanks.
Your storytelling got better doobs. Possibly because you have your mini team to help you up, but also just putting yourself out there to emphasize and empathize with your interviewees. Thank you! I enjoyed this one ❤
19:25 the damascus pattern is insane, usually the pattern is cheaply printed or lacking in layers but 480 layers for this knife truly shines in the knife’s surface. I would pay a small fortune to buy a knife like this from this shop.
this has become one of my fav videos on youtube for many reasons
12:16 golden words ✨️
Wooww this was such an excellent video! the audio is so perfectly balanced, your production value and narrative is so good i feel like im watching something from the glory days of the travel channel, or the glory days of rebel VICE. Your videos entertain me on par with Anthony Bourdains Parts Unknown.
Thank you for documenting this mans brilliance in his craft! my boyfriends nephew is only 15 and has forged some crazy things. My boyfriend bought him a small forge for christmas last year! i will show him this video and hopefully inspire him to continue learning.
I appreciate highly skilled artesians like him. He clearly takes pride in his craftsmanship and that is something I really admire. People like him are rare to find these days. Thank you for posting!
Amazing! Great video reminds me a lot of Alvin Zhou’s work, excited to see more like this
Great episode. Love this kind of videos. Capturing someone love of their craft n dedication.
Wow, this is great stuff Tina. Very touching and inspiring for sure
That gift is way beyond words. Savor it.
Wow! Beautiful handcrafting art. I hope we see Mr. Kim on your opening day. 🎉
This was beautiful. Amazing production. I wish there was a way to donate to him
I also admire passionate people...they make the world even better. 감사합니다 티나 for making high quality contents. 시랑합니디...♡

you should give him a shoutout! what a master of his craft. does he have a website?
The way he handed the knife to dooby, OMG, I m crying
This is a very touching content. I was teary eyed when he said "this is a gift from me for the opening of your restaurant.."
Master Kim, “If i don’t sharpen Ill be dull and useless”. Inspiring!
OMG why am I crying as the video ends. This video is so beautiful. I wish I could get one of his knives.
Great video ,great documentery ♡♡♡
dooby slayer the sword smith village arc idk why im expecting you to have a ridiculously large katana in your new restaurant and cut food with it like a samurai

In tears !
IM TEARING UP THIS GOT ME EMOTIONAL

These are not just vlogs anymore, they’re documentaries (and the good ones) 🫶
Not me crying while watching a man make a knife... Thank you dooby for sharing this story and highlighting this master's craft. It was very moving and inspiring, and a metaphor for life!
LMFAO ME
I thought I was the only one crying lol
me too :')
Tell me about it 🥹
The tears are realllllll
the appreciation and respect she has for artisans is something society needs to adopt
Why? I think all of us have a deep appreciation for artisans.
@@swisstrader not really I think some people take these things for granted and don’t acknowledge the work that’s put in to make these things the best quality available
@@swisstrader when was the last time you saw someone (especially a big name UA-camr) who put this much effort into a video dedicated solely to a craftsman that isn't part of a worldwide brand corp? i know i haven't.
@@rosayads uhm. Just about 1000 YT vids a day. Vids on blacksmiths, bread makers, sushi masters, and on and on. Nothing new or shocking
@@rosayads not arguing that there could be more but let’s not make out like she’s the only UA-camr that features artisans!
Wow that ending got me tearing up. This was such a beautiful video Tina, thank you for bringing us along for the ride. A hundred blessings to the bladesmith and his shop.
Mr Kim definitely should be one of your first customers once the resturant is open.
Thank you for sharing this lovely heartwarming story with us all.
omg!! that was my thought as well
Yessss
I thought of this as well. I hope so. He's a wonderful mand
Creating videos that tug on our heartstrings is one of her defining qualities. ❤😢
Yessss!!
Wow, this episode is what's up. Love that Dooby wants to show us the craft, the details, and the soul behind the food and cooking we often go crazy about on this channel. She appreciates all the aspects, and it's inspiring!
You just took my words... i agree. The editing... chef's kiss
@@arin20 yes - editing is very on point!
멋진 영상 감사합니다.
I don't know how many times i've said this, but you are such an awesome storyteller! I'm proud to be a subscriber! This episode right here is one for the books! Thanks for bringing this story to us!
Has anyone else noticed that South-Korean hosted interviews always seem to be fantastic? I noticed this in other tv shows / youtube too - I feel like they take great pride in the role of the host - the questions and respect are always high quality.
Holy hell, Dooby is now doing CNN quality documentary style episodes, let’s freaking go!
My goodness! I cried, what a noble man which did not give up on tradition no matter the cost. Truly, I thank you for sharing this documentary with us. ❤ How can I acquire a knife from the Master?
I know I'm teary as well.. he's very inspiring!!
This made me tear up 🥲 it’s beautiful watching passionate people do their craft. Thanks for sharing Master Kim’s story!
별생각없이 새로운 에피소드 구나 하면서 봤는데 너무 감동적이어서 눈물이 났습니다! 장인분의 열정과 티나님이 가지는 요리에 대한 열정도 너무 멋지십니다❤❤❤😊😊
