Saudações do Brasil!

Thank you for describing things like what the ingredients are and what terms like what type of soup/base is. I’m Japanese but I’m learning a lot from your channel. Growing up I ate all different ethnic foods because I live in Hawaii and as a senior now…I’m learning there are many different ways to make miso soup and also different varieties of miso. I always thought there was only one way to make miso soup and also one type of miso! Thanks to social media I am learning a lot and enjoying the variety in how I can prepare my food. You can lose a lot of knowledge without looking further than how you were raised lol! Thank you for sharing and I hope your channel monetizes soon! Gambate! 🎉

My favorite thing to buy at a local Asian grocery store here in Colorado is, believe it or not, mushrooms! My regular grocery store only carries two standard types of mushrooms, but a new Asian/middle eastern market has more varieties including these long skinny white ones called snowcaps or snow mushrooms! I'm obsessed!

Egg and mayo sandwich, my favourite in konbinis! Very often bought them when out bicycling in Fukuoka, with a chu-hi, often 20-30 kilometers, was all over the city during many years. I make this simple sandwich now too at home, no edges, put in plastic wrap in the fridge, eat in the park and dream back to good days in Japan. Yes, watching soccer in Japan was a mess, in the middle of the night with crappy streams. Now in Romania I can watch many games at normal hours. Btw, Mitoma is very good, I see him regularly on TV.
Crab shumai is excellent even frozen. Also other gyozas and dumplings with shrimp or pork. The supermarket specialized in fish and seafood seems very good. I loved to go shopping round 6-7 pm when prices were cut dramatically on fresh produce. My gf was not home until 8 pm after work so I very often had sashimi bowls with rice ready: sea bream, tuna, mentaiko, uni, shrimps, sometimes crab if it was a small portion of just meat, sometimes other shellfish like scallops which got a quick fry in the pan. These were the best stuff in the supermarket. Sometimes also fine meats at a +50% discount, but not eaten as sashimi ofc. I was not a fan of squid, found it chewy and bland and after learning more about larger octopus - tako I stopped eating them. They are such smart and amazing creatures, same with whale. Although takoyaki is very good. Also good in the supermarket were ginko nuts, gently fried as yakitori. Plus natto of course for breakfast.
Also made simple Okinawan dishes with bitter gourd - goya plus fermented tofu with awamori. And Swedish dishes, I was born in Sweden.
Mixing simple wasabi and soy is ok, I do it and many Japanese friends too.
I had a good very friend in Fukuoka who was from Osaka. We used to go out and eat and also go see baseball, he got free tickets from some pro-players. He reminds of you, same age more or less, jogging, healthy etc, one son and a wife. He is in Osaka now doing fine.
Car wash: in Romania no one wash their cars by themselves, people do that very cheap. I wash my car, as the French do, when it rains :-))
Clam chowder and scallop pasta, excellent choice! I do not know the, (chain?), resto, but it looks good. Itameshi, a bit like spaghetti alle vongole in Italy. I could not eat the Yokohama Ankake ramen after all the food that day, but it looks good.
Sorry, I write a lot but I have the time now as retired and your clips bring back memories. Arigato.

If I lived in Japan I would never cook at home I would eat out all the time when I see the prices !! It seems that our prices (in Western Europe) for everyday food are extremely high and not particularly of better quality. I am sure that if there were convenience stores like the ones in Japan and South Korea in the EU they would be very successful
