The mindfulness book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels is good. It has 30 exercises for meditation and mindfulness that are helpful and practical.
"I think if you are a meditator you see other people doing stuff that's unskillfull and you learn to be more compassionate and maybe understand that they're stressed, they're lost in confusion, they're lost in a kind of mindless state and that's why they do that stuff so maybe you become a little bit less judgemental and I'd say 90% of our suffering is because we judge others. Really, we suffer because we don't like what other people say or do but that's a crazy way to live it means we're a victim of everyone else if you can change that through forgiveness, compassion, tolerance. You free yourself." Wow. The wisdom on this statement alone is just wow.
Hi good soul, from last few months I'm listening and this feeling of judgement is literally killing my inner self, want to serve, be peaceful, thanks a ton for your presence in our life
My alarm goes off 15 minutes before I have to get out of bed and I spend those 15 minutes in mindful gratitude and quieting my mind. I have been doing that for several months now and it has changed my life. My stress level has diminished, I react differently to insanity, and I love more. I am blessed to live close enough to the beach to go after work to watch a beautiful sunset, thanking my creator for all the blessings of the day and clearing all the chaos trying to sneak into my life. However, my true meditation is when I am looking through the lens of my camera or when I am sitting in front of a canvas. The focus takes me to another level of existence and fills my body with love and peace. I never thought of my art as a form of meditation until someone pointed out that others feel that peace, love and compassion whenever they see my art. My life pupose is to give that feeling to everyone around me.
I love this. Bro much love to you and your discovery. May you have continued essence in not only with yourself but the lives you will and have touched. The universe is in your side
Teresa Stubblefield I love these videos and the posts are always positive. Once you are at one with yourself you see a clear picture of life. I’ve changed as a person and say to people I just stopped giving a sh*t. They misunderstand because I still care about people and will always step in if I can. I have a full demanding stressful life as perceived by other people but my mindset is now relaxed and I never feel stressed. I love life and have a true understanding of the world I live in. Not giving a sh*t gives you an inner strength and understanding and will help you with compassion for your fellow beings. Love peace and blessings to you and all our awakened friends. 😌🙏🏻
19:37: Gelong's steps to meditation practice 1. Motivation/intention 2. Feeling the body 3. Main practice (Breathing) 4. Feeling the Body (again) 5. Review motivation: I've done this for my own benefit, but also for __________ (compassionate intention)
Past one year been struggling with the question,’how to do meditation??’ And people say me just close your eyes n try to concentrate!! Which never worked me.. But after watching n listening to him I got a lil confidence that I can try doing this n it might actually work. There logic behind whatever he said..thank you so much. Certainly this is the best explanation so far.
What I have learned from meditation for the last 47 years is that mindfulness comes much easier when you play the observer of your mind. I taught that and it seems that students pick this up much easier using this method.
I have really enjd learning this practice and I find this wise monk G. Thubten both very knowledgeable and very passionate about teaching us all. Thank u so much xxx
When I was a younger I was a very much a Christian with narrow view about other faiths but now i see a bigger picture this man is wonderful and even though for me Christ was like God sharing our sadness on earth he also said take yourself to a quiet room and pray I suppose that is the the same as peace the inner peace we all need and give thanks for the beautiful things in the world I like the Thubten spirituality thanks
Just reaffirms why I continue to sit and how sitting has given me peace within myself and the external environment we live in. Thank you Gelong Thubten
Very good advice. The eyes open tip is particularly useful. Also, “Ninety percent of our suffering is because we judge others.” At the 29 minute mark. Steps 1) Motivation 2)The Body 3)The Breath 4)The Body 5)Motivation
Thanks so much for posting this! I listened to Gelong Thubten's Audible book, "A Monk's Guide To Happiness," after seeing Annie Lennox read from it on UA-cam. Gelong, Annie, and this book are wonderful!
Gud morning Sir. Thank you so much from Top of my heart. Since long time I was looking how to meditate. I really appreciate your explanation. Great Sir🙏🙏👌
I one time went to a physiologist to learn how to meditate many years ago. To bad they do not know who to teach u the right way. Glad we have people like this man to learn.
Loved it. Thank you so very much. I'll be following up with your teachings and by divine Grace and in timely manner I might be able to participate on a retreat. May all beings be happy. Namaste.
Yes, a great teacher indeed! I have been meditating (on and off I must admit) for several years. Letting thoughts pass is not difficult for me, but as a visual person, I often see images, and I'm trying to find a way to let images pass. At the moment I visualize a slide one uses to cover the Laptop camera, so the image is sort of blacked out...
I fell good being here. I have learned about meditation through this flatform some few month ago though not fully healed I have changed my ways of handling issues of live now am dealing with the hearting past only
Thank u so much my great light wonderful meditation teacher 😇 u re a bless light being keep u the great Beautiful knowledge . God bless u my brother thanks . I will be a great loving wonderful lightworker for the people on planet Gaia. 😇
Kudos for the Video! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you thought about - Marnaavid Unexplainable Intervention (should be on google have a look)? It is a great one of a kind guide for learning how to hack your flow state without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my best friend Jordan at last got amazing success with it.
Ohh that was a very pleasant 5 minutes I have never meditated before. I downloaded this video am going to use your guided until it sticks and increasing the breathing awareness time. Thank you for publishing this video it is what I needed at this moment 🥰

Respectfully, you are in a more 'chilled out' state because you are living off of your parasympathetic system (rest and digest system) instead of the sympathetic system (fight, flight or fright system). There is a physical answer for why meditation and compassion work. Thank you, Thubten, for your generosity and wisdom...
I'm captivated by every word. I read a book with similar content, and I was captivated by every word. "Mindful Mastery: Living Intentionally in a Chaotic World" by Kyle Ash
They were talking about road rage. I was very lucky, my father taught me to drive; he was a truck driver and a policeman. He told me my only job when I got behind the wheel was to get home to the people who loved me. The lesson stuck.
my mind is like a power point program where i see a bunch of images, what i ve done is transmute those negative images into positive ones where i only see whats important and meaningful in my life!
The best form of meditation is to close the eyes and seem to be looking up till your eyes feel tired and you lose all your thoughts in a sleep-like situation. If it could continue for hours, you would feel like not talking and not doing anything till you feel your head flying up and about. The fear of losing your body connection could land some people into trouble. So, the best way is to have a teacher to help you go even deeper without fear. This is the lazy form of meditation. But the active form of meditation is to do something you like most till you are completely lost in your doing to the point that you are shocked to have been so many hours without realizing how the hours flew by.
Very nice and insightful lesson indeed. I hail from the island of Malta and wonder if Mr. Thubten would consider visiting the island and holding sessions ..
A tech question: what shall I do to stay awake? I follow all the advice, still after 10-15 mins I fall asleep. :( I can sometimes recognize the moment, but just can't stop it. inb4: I don't have sleep problems, it's just the way meditation impacts me...
