    Hey I caught the t-stat for sensor , hard one for most installers to catch. Also I didn’t see a lockbox installed over sensor, the tenants will place sensor in the refrigerator and get all the heat they want , please video any repeat calls on those thermostats , pro 8000 are the best thermostats but not always landlord friendly.

    I also have a Honeywell Redlink system, when i did a 2nd floor upgrade a couple years ago the system came with 2 sensors. I have it set so the sensors are used in 2 rooms for averages and the thermostat temp sensor is turned off so only the 2 sensors control it. Been extremely happy with the sensors. My only real complaint is you need a separate gateway to communicate with the thermostat, it doesnt have WIFI built in.

    Thermostat placement has a lot to do with comfort.
    Honeywell also has a portable remote control, with temperature sensor, allowing temperature measurement to occur wherever it is placed.
    With the remote sensor being placed higher on the wall, than the original controlling t-stat, the room temperature is now possibly cooler, while at the same setpoint, as the warm air rises and satisfies the thermostat set-point quicker, as the air higher in the room is warmer.

    • @Daniel.Rodrigo-05Law
      @Daniel.Rodrigo-05Law 18 днів тому

    You can also install the actual 8000 tstats on each floor and set the max heat set point on the 8000’s (if you wanted tenants to have some control). You can get the internet gateway module and then control the tstats with the Honeywell app remotely so if tenants are away, etc you can turn down/off the heat/AC. There’s also the REM5000R1001, which is a cute little table remote that can toggle between the floors in case the internet goes out since it pairs directly to the tstats. I’ve never had a tenant go into the installer setup menu (you need the 4 digit code) and tamper with the max heat set point.

    Your tenants can complain about the cold room/apartment if they buy Bluetooth thermometers and place them in the rooms. It will prove the furnace or A/C isn't working properly (to what they have it set to). You are gaslighting your tenants. It's disturbing behavior for an adult to be engaging in. If you don't want your tenants to have heating/cooling above/below a certain temperature you need to put it into the lease and explain that the thermostat is rigged in that way. People with certain health conditions need to be aware that they will not be able to be comfortable in your rentals because of your practices.

    • @20NewJourney23
      @20NewJourney23 24 дні тому

      I agree. It depends on the person whether 70 is fine or if it's too cold. Some people have health conditions which can cause problems for the temperature to be at or near 70 degrees in the winter 70 degrees is the minimum temperature I can handle but I normally have my thermostat set to 75 year round. That five degrees really makes a difference in keeping my hands and feet safely temperature controlled. I have Raynaud's Phenomenon which is a blood flow problem caused by autonomic nervous system dysfunction. My central nervous system tricks my feet and hands into shrinking the blood vessels and preventing proper blood flow when the temperature is near 70 degrees (or lower). My hands and feet turn white or blue depending on how bad the blood flow is restricted. The only protection I have for my feet and hands is warming them up to 75+ degrees. People have lost their hands or feet in non-freezing temperatures because of this health problem. I haven't (yet) but I've been able to control the temperature of my home on my own.

    woah, 1 cycle per hour is far too low, for a drafty old place. it will end up yo-yo swinging and them still complaining, which they likely will anyway, not being able to set it at what they feel comfortable.

    Why leave the thermostats in the apartment? Just going to create more drama…cranking and playing with them while not hitting any crazy set points used above 70. Should have just eliminated the apt thermostats, recycle the existing wire to use direct wire sensors vs batteries and tell the tenants to suck it. Most restrictive laws require 68….LL is providing 70.

    why rent when scumbag landlord prevents you from heating comfort Cheap arse landlord needs seperate meters and systems for the renters. if not renters go some where else. with rents like they are we demand control not scummy landlords. Plus landlords set up a proper rental with seperate meters etc, easy done. This will surly piss off tennants..

      Landlords rent out space to make money; they're not a public service to provide you with comfort so that u can walk around in your undies in the winter. We all know that when heat and electric is included, renters abuse it. Get your own damn house and run the thermostat to 75 in the winter. Let us know what your heating bills are. Maybe you're expecting the "gov" to help u?

      this is why renters want out of renting.. but can't buy a house do to the scam house market. Houses DO NOT INCREASE IN VALUE! this is a scam.
      regardless... the tenants should have full control over their own heat but yes at their cost when possible.. I could soooo easily see a tenant putting this in a fridge or by a window to trick the system into heating. hahahahaha.

    Should have brought the thermostat wire sheath all the way under that plate instead you got a butch'ed up sheath before it enters the base of the plate. Looks like you could have drilled a hole and brought it in from behind the plate. And they make better staples than those big ugly ones you use.
