I like motorcycle parts and I also like them at a discount which is what I hope to provide to y'all as well. Thanks for being apart of the Shot Squad
So instead of a screw driver just twist it off with some vise grips. It does not say much about our fellow riders that we have to worry about this but my first Harley was the only motorcycle I have ever owned that someone removed parts, my passenger detachable back rest. Had a buddy who lost his bags outside the hotel while grabbing dinner that we walked to.
I have a 2019 street glide special. Believe it or not I am happy with the stock seat. When traveling I take the seat off and take it into my hotel room with me. Or when tent camping, I take it into my tent. In the morning there's no dew on the seat. I don't even put my seat screw on. I have lost a few of them and got tired of replacing them. But this product you showed is a neat idea.
Actually just installed a Robert Becker seat lock on my Deuce to lock down my new custom designed too expensive Corbin. Highly recomended!
I have a Robert Becker seat lock as well.
Robert Becker seat locks rule, got 1 when my Saddleman SDC arrived🔥
I test rode the Road Glide. The seat and the bars were perfect for me. I'm 5'11 186lbs
Why can’t Harley fit locking seats like most other manufacturers do? My Triumph, Honda and even my Moto Guzzi all have locking seats that require the ignition key to remove.
Looks like a pair of channel locks can snap that off and in doing so will now damage the fender along with you looking the seat. So a 1k loss now becomes a 2k loss and down time for the bike for the fender
I bought one for my ‘23 Harley Ultra and not only does it hamper a thief from possibly stealing your seat, it hampers the hell out of me trying to get my hands with the barrel key to unlock it given the extremely limited space between the seat and tour pack. Great idea but not very workable for my bike.
My Factory Indian Roadmaster seat is great right out of the box. So is the factory suspension and motorized windshield
Lost me at "77 bucks for 1 screw" lmao
Yeah that's overkill. $15-30 at best
Sold my Road Sofa to my brother. I couldn’t do it, since it sits you so high on the bike. SDC is the sweet spot! They make the best seats.
I think Saddleman has a lock as well for the seat
They do $29 bucks
Reinforced seat strap that can't be cut would be better.
Thanks for the great videos and I already have the RB seat lock from previous bikes, I also ride the 24 Whiskey Fire Road Glide and waiting for the Saddleman to release the heated seat over the next couple of weeks before making my purchase, however I'm not sure if I want the plan black seat or the orange stitch seat, so after seeing your video I thought that would help me make my decision.
But you only gave us a very small content of the seat.
Is it possible to get a full image of your bike with the seat, thanks in advance.
Imagine someone getting caught stealing someone seat. Us bikers police ourselves.
Yes sir Definitely a necessity
Then the bars
the seat is important.
An Allen head screw would detour 90% of those willing to mess with your bike....the other 10% would likely have the wrong Allen wrench size. This is an old hot rodder's trick to secure expensive parts. I love Allen heads for this very reason. Helmet locks would be a good topic to discuss too.
True. I have button head Allen screws on all of our car license plates. Chances are he will not have an Allen hex wrench and he can’t easily grab it with pliers. You can’t stop a thief but you can make him move to an easier steal.
Seat companies should look to Corbin for security ideas. My Corbin Classic Solo seat comes with a key'd lock built right into the seat. No worry about it getting stolen. I'm sure for what Saddleman charges for their seat, they could incorporate a locking system also. Maybe they feel if someone was to steal your seat, then you would be stuck having to buy another... which is good for them, bad for you.
Hummmmm....
This is a fantastic comment and suggestion. I could not agree more. I love both of my Saddlemen seats both for the price I feel they could supply a key lock. Even if they incorporate it into the price.
Good evening from Indiana
Corbin
My bike came with a Corbin custom lock on solo seat with the removable backrest was on my Street Bob when I bought it. It looked fantastic, but was the most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever set these buns. Couldn’t wait to get it off. I bought a $435 Saddlemen step up and it’s great. I can lean back and ride all day at 66 years old with a bad back. I usually prefer Mustang to any other, but I got the Saddlemen on sale and went with it. Like I said it’s great. The Corbin solo I have sells for around $850-$900 I may try and get at least $350-$400 out of it and it’s mint. If Corbin makes a step up, it would have probably been comfy also.
