11:08 you know that’s sad? Lex knows it’s not that easy to let go of that hatred after 14 years. He knows it’s hard even for him. Now he’ll blame Lois for making him lose the literal ONE good part of him in his life. 12:21 What’s more terrifying than a broken villain is a villain who has nothing left to lose.
Despite all the budget cuts, and how they resulted in no other guest stars besides Candice’s actress this episode as well as why they gave Doomsday an exit, the season is amazing. As for Candice and whether this is her last appearance? She may be in the finale. The actor for John Henry confirmed that pretty much everybody is in the finale.
i got disapointed when she gave up when he said "she has to pay". But then i noticed that he was (and she knew that) telling her "no. My hatred for lois lane is greater, i'm willing to lose you and never get to know my grandson in order to destroy that family to get back at her". And that's why she gave up on that moment. But i still really wanted her to say wih all letters after that: "so you chose! your love for me is not as big as your hatred for lois. I was hoping you loved me more... but you don't. The kents tried to bring us back together and YOU chose your revenge instead... You won't see me again or your grandson ever. Lois and Clark gave us a chance to be back together, i accepted, and you blew what you knew to be your last chance. So i ask you, who's fault is it that you will never see me again? Theirs who tried to bring us together again... or yours who refused by prioritized your revenge? Stay away from me and my son! And the kents as well." and then she left GOSH i wish she had said it with all these words (or something along these lines)! How LL would have deserved THESE WORDS FROM THE ONLY PERSON HE WOULD LISTEN SAYING THEM! If the episode was made with the intention of making me sympathyse with lex, it failed miserably, cuz the opposite happened.
I don’t think the intention was to make you sympathize with him. I think the point was to make you realize the most narcissistic tendency he has, which is to blame everyone else and to push his character to the point of no return. The most dangerous kind of villain is the one with nothing left to lose, and Lex has now reached that point.
@@neochozo Yeah. But the thing is that is a pattern of this series. Either the villains cease to be villains or they become sympathetic in some sense. And i was really afraid they'd gonna do this with LL cuz i wanted a good old revenge. The intresting part and i also wish elizabeth told him that, is that he wasn't mad that Lois lane put him in prision for a crime he didn't commit, cuz he did commit other crimes. He just used the fact that he happened to be sent to prision for THE one crime he hadn't committed, as a pretext, an excuse to sound justified in his head.
@@vitormenezesdemattos967 on those points, you’re correct. Both John Henry and Tal-Rho flipped and became cool guys in the end. And I guess Mannheim to a degree, too. Ally and Lex are probably the only ones who are bad and staying bad. Lex really screwed it up choosing revenge over his daughter here, but it perfectly illustrates his narcissism that he would hyperfixate on the one thing he didn’t do when as Elizabeth said, there was plenty more he DID do.
@@neochozo it was just the perfect excuse he needed to sound justified in his head. "i was sent to prision for a crime i didn't commit" out of context always makes it soud as if the person's innocent. That being the perfect excuse and pretext to make Lois sound like the villain, no way he would not hyperfixate on that. Otherwise it would mean admitting he did do other things.
i don't know how you thought in any way this episode was trying to make you sympathize with him... this episode clearly showed he only wants revenge and doesn't take responsibility to killing people to the point its more important to him then loving his own daughter... the first scene with his wife showed who he really was... please watch
Honestly bugs me the way doomsday was beaten was being talked to. I know he was once an actual person, but they shouldve done this differently.... hes supposed to be an unstoppable monster. Hopefully he will be back
I actually kind of get down with it. They had a way in with how Bizarro was turned into Doomsday while also referencing a few comic runs here and there where Doomsday was totally able to rationalize and understand certain concepts. In fact, following onto this point I think it would’ve been very cool to add in Doomsday’s capacity to learn that he demonstrated way back in 1993’s DoS arc where he recognized and then verbalized “Mhhtrppliss”. He could’ve listened to everything Lois said and had a gutteral verbalization of “family” or something similar.

Bizarro has such a sad life 😔
That’s 2/2 comic book shows that Elizabeth has been in and she CRUSHED IT and on top of that she directed the episode as well so good on her
