20:34 Maradona started his pro career by the late 70's and retired either in 1995 or 96 "can't remember" as for Ronaldinho he went pro by 1998 and retired in 2015, they're from different generations !!
Players of this era: Hey Ref!, That butterfly touched me is penalty and red card! Diego: He got up again without asking for a single card, he didn't even cry when a Bilbao's player broke his ankle AND HE PLAYED 1990 WORLD CUP, with an injured ankle that looked like an orange, there is pictures
Before his countryman Messi came onto the scene, the GOAT conversation centered around Maradona vs Pele. He was the guy looking skyward that y'all noticed in the crowd from one of your Messi reactions. Until Messi won the World Cup last year, Maradona always had that accomplish over him. But Maradona was once quoted as saying that Messi was the only player that was worthwhile him paying to see play. There's plenty more amazing footage of Maradona out there, but I don't where to tell to look to find the bulk of it.
It's not cool to trick americans into believing Messi's _the_ GOAT dude - if they haven't followed the sport they cant know if u serious or not y'know?
@@YesMessiIsTheGoat "a normal brain" - u pure gold kid 😂 But sure, the way your "goat" failed to make P$G even _slighty_ better team sure speak volumes I guess? Well at least he did score most CL goals ever... oh no, wait, thats Cristiano, my bad! At lest _now_ I know why all these people claiming Pelé, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maradona, CR9 or "Fenômeno" don't count - those brains just ain't normal! 😁
Hahaha!!! 1. Plenty of non-Americans think Messi is the THE GOAT. 2. It's not a trick to simply lay out the facts. It may however reflect on the intellectual capacities of the reader. And 3. Though I lean toward Messi being THE GOAT, I think a reasonable case could be made for Maradona or Pele, and maybe a few others. But it's definitely NOT C7 Ronaldo, phenomenal athlete though he may be. The highest Portugal ever got in the World Cup with him was one semifinal appearance, and in one of their 5 World Cup appearances with him from 2006 to 2022, Portugal didn't even make it out of the group stage, playing the US to a 2-2 draw.
I don't know how elses to put it in words but I love it when black americans (I guess) comment on Maradona's and other football videos cause you crack me up with your comments and put so much positive energy into it and it shows how much you enjoy it.
Min. 4:51 the man on the ground with his legs open is Scirea... one of the greatest defenders in history! here he was European and world champion with Platini's Juventus in 1985.
The greatesteversportsman for pure talent.pro at 15 played for argentina at 16......the greatest...self evident.what he did with a ball defies physics and most of the vid is from 30 plus years ago..football ailen.. RIP diego
Maradona was absolute genius! He is one of the strongest players ever (everyone has their own preferences but Maradona is at least in the top 5 if we really want to treat him severely, otherwise we could easily say in the top 3). The point is that Maradona wasn't physically gifted at all and this in itself in a physical sport like football is a substantial disadvantage. Also he was much stronger with his left foot than his right. It is immediately noticeable that for "non-routine" actions he always uses the same foot. This is also a disadvantage... Much bigger than the first one. Every player obviously has a natural side, but it's unthinkable for a professional to use half of their body. I can't think of anyone else with a similar disparity... Probably if I played I would have the same difference between the two sides: I could completely miss the shot with my right foot and completely miss the ball with my left. Finally he had a short enough career that didn't allow him to win as much as he deserved. Initially he had several injuries (I remember a video in which his leg was broken by an opposing defender in slow motion). Then when he was at the peak of his career in Naples he began to get lost in the worldly life of women, alcohol and above all cocaine. I believe that coke first cost him his career, for a couple of very long disqualifications... Then it cost him his health because after retiring he had become very fat, heart diseased and addicted... And finally, in my opinion, it cost him the life. (this is my opinion: when he died he wasn't fat anymore, he wasn't addicted anymore and he was finally back to the person everyone remembered. But he died for the heart. Some damages can't be fixed). After this very long premise I'll just say this: Maradona played having in theory a potential below average, he exploited his potential practically half and half the time and even in doing so he risks being the best ever. Did you understand the amount of talent and genius we are talking about? I say no more.
@@legendary3952 Well "lad" - although my comment sure was written in your native languange, It's proper enough that you still must've misread it into something like: "..except in England, where not even _one_ _single_ _brit_ consider Maradona as anything more than a coke-snortin, handballing scrotum-gurgler" - so I dont see your point? I wasn't talking about Scots or N. Ireland's views or whatever, since u do compete as seperate nations. Nevertheless, with the whole wide web at your fingertips - try prove me wrong? Bet you cant though, unless every englishman I've met there & on the continent just pretended while all those polls over the years intentionally lied about the results results - unless EVERYONE above age 45 suddenly vanished from your island - then I know my statement to be factual - Maradona just is'nt the player most people view as the goat! No biggie, so what if more of you think Pelé was the better player - hey, in terms of longevity, professionalism and 1000+ goals, etc that's not a bad answer! "Gods hand"-jokes in the 90's hardly even roughed any feathers, taking the semi-piss at most :D Never mind, I just got curious. Reaction reminded me of when a Sunderland- or Middlesbrough fan was reminded of Newcastle being only team left! Godspeed!
@@marcelo080 Like I said, Pelé is a real solid candidate - dude won world cup brazils first, when he was only 17 years old! My grand father saw that final at Råsunda Stadion, here in Stockholm, something he talked about 50+ times in his life ☺ Also, Pele kept his peak intact very long time, great team mate, and so on.. In my humble opinionm, he would've needed some seasons competing in a tougher league but we all got different credentials in the end, right?
It was a different time, he has bonus points because back then defense was super violent (you needed like murder to get a foul lol) also pitches were awful, not even flat and all muddy

This is just the 20% of what he was capable to do
Is hard to explain how good this GOD LIKE A PLAYER could have been in this era.

Maradona pre-match keep ups dribbling routine is a jaw dropping scene by itself. It is football legend. Best control over a ⚽️ in Hstory.

Simply THE BEST IN HISTORY
I'm Argentinian and I LOVE Messi but no... NO ONE COME CLOSE TO DIEGO.
Pienso lo mismo crack el diegotee
Messi and Maradona both plays like almost same and are both Argentine legend
Play like almost the same? Absolutely not.’ Maradona technically its way way superior than messi bro
Messi + Ronaldinho = Maradona
Messi and Maradona don’t belong in the same sentence. Maradona is an icon, Messi is a good club player. End of story.
I dont see Mesi getting close to this performance
