  • Here is my only street bike in my garage, a Honda 1970 CL450 K4 Scrambler.
Cool retro look, 45Hp and a simple engine.
I get a lot of : "I used to have one... all the time. I guess it was a cheap bike back them compare to the british options and people bought a lot of them.

Had a 71 that looked identical to this bike. Same paint. I also had a CL 450 1969 and 1/2 which was my first 450, and a CB 450 as my last. Loved these bikes so much I had 3 of them. I owned both CL's at the same time. Brings back good memories of when I was young. I am now 58 and ride a HD Wide Glide. Nice Video! Love your Bike. Right On!!!

My God ! I had one of these (CL) the same color ! I remember that exhaust sound and metal bar across the handlebars just like it was YESTERDAY ! ! ! Thanks so much for this historic video !

you are right, it is no so simple vs other engines back them. But I think they did a great job getting 45hp out of a 450. That means 10hp for every 100cc. My CT110 has only 6hp.
It is a bit heavy for racing but on the street, rides like a Cad.

Beautiful! I have a K3. Working on maximizing performance as it seems to max out around 60mph :/

    Nice bike.
First mass produced, dual overhead cam motorcycle. Uses torsion arms in place of conventional valve springs.
Exotic, yes. Simple ? not really.

I had the CB 450, the low piper. I was surprised to learn that they had no replaceable oil filter. They were probably the first DOHC, even before the Kawasaki Z1.
That thing could rev! This was my first bike. I'd actually bought a Triumph 500 cc Trophy Twin, but when I went to ride it home, the thing wouldn't start. He said, let's hold off on the purchase, he'd work on it (it was British, after all). He called me back a week later "got her running"!. I took it for a test ride, and notice the clutch was slipping. By then, I'd seen enough of British engineering, and went and bought my '71 Honda CB 450, that was WAY faster then the Triumph, when on the cams, and most importantly, it wasn't a piece of shit. Just keep an eye on the chain, that was about it.
