That's exactly the creativity i hoped community servers would bring to the table and i was quite sad that nothing like that has been done before except gungame which i also really enjoyed. I hope the developers will notice your gamemode and provide extra features needed to perfect it
I feel like competitive battlebit should embrace the large scale warfare lol imagine a coordinated army of 127 with dedicated squads communicating and squad leader comms. I feel like battlebit competitive would do better to set itself apart from other games by doing the large scale war with whole large teams. Just sayin idk
OCE servers can barely fill 2 full scale servers at peak hours so it doesn't really seem plausible that you'd find that many players that want to play a more involved/hardcore version of the game.
I played in arma clans for years (mostly arma 2, some arma 3), and many hours in project reality and a bit in squad Competitive PvP with huge groups like that is very very hard to deal with. Surprisingly, matches almost always end up more 1 sided than they would in public match making Once you get in to matches of 80+ people total, let alone 127v127, things tend to go to haywire. Maintaining team cohesion is so difficult I was always pushing for arma clan PvP matches but in practice it doesn't work out, imbalance becomes extremely prevalent with big player matches I would like to see it done in battlebit for sure, but it's more difficult than it sounds on paper
@@Jason-fp7vi We did 48 player platoons in Planetside 2 no problem. We've had 2 platoons of 48 each working very tightly too. Though planetside 2 maps are much larger with many more objectives. Even so, we ended up at the same bases often. One platoon would handle 2 points while the other handled 1 point with 2 squads roaming.
I've watched some of the play testing and out looks like a ton of fun. Although I'm happy to be a spectator on this one. Will you be streaming the matches?
I really love you limited Medics to one, but I'll be honest, I feel like that will SEVERELY limit your participants, since damn near everyone still plays Medic lol
Do you guys still play this format from time to time? Did you make any further adjustments to the rules/settings? Or have they pretty much been proven to work well as they are? Are you able to do anything about the randomized mcom/objective spawns, or is that an unavoidable issue? I loved squad rush in Battlefield 3. Super under-rated competitive game mode.
We have played a few oce tourneys on this rule set, the randomized bombs are still a problem, it is unfixable, we have removed smoke grenades, hesco barriers, and limited the classes differently. Thanks for the comment, I also believe that the competitive viability of a gamemode like this is under rated.
Mr Wong is it possible to play 4v4 pickup matches rather than the structured tourney? Friends and I might be interested but don't have the time to commit to an actual event

We really liked a team size of 4, just because when you get squad wiped it is very bad for your team, and we wanted this to be something incredibly present, to promote positioning based decisions, even at the most basic levels.
@tonomrwong the reason I say 5v5 then you have very one on one class so if u want to make a change say this dude is a better assault player then my team I gonna pick him

Something different than regular conquest or frontline? There's like 7 other gamemodes lol
I highly recommend 32 v 32 Rush, it's all I play
In OCE our rush server is rarely full, even our conquest server is only full later in the day
Yeah, I only play 32v32. Anything above that feels ridiculous. Rush is easily the best mode. I absolutely loathe Frontlines and Domination.
