You totally missed the mk4 R32, 1st hot hatch that you could get DSG, 4wd individual braking corners and a Quattro system - it’s more famous than any of the cars in your video and a Cult classic
The Clio II RS stands out, one big missed opportunity would have to be the 400 hp Volvo C30 Polestar concept. Speaking of the latter would be great seeing another video delving into the subject of Hot Hatch projects that for whatever reason did not make it to production.
A very god overview of 00’s hot hatches, but how about some video clips (rather than photos) of the cars in motion, preferably with engine sound included! Cheers.
My dad had a red clio trophy, the best bit was he didn’t know what he was buying and said to the guy he wanted it for the colour 😂 this was way before he or I really knew what it was and I was unfortunately too young to remember much about the driving experience, would love to relive those days with the knowledge I have now. *edit, all I do know is that he could take ring roads at about 60, sometimes a little more 😂
If told to have one,the Alfa Romeo 147GTA is it. Clios are cool, Vicki Butler Henderson loved them but they are a bit too French. Civic Type-R in it's second generation is a close second for me. By the way,if someone doesn't like that Alfa, he's not a petrolhead.

Euro or JDM hatches? Which wins a lap around Goodwood.
JDM
Euro
For me it's got to be the Renault Clio V6. It's just cool.
206 RC?

147 GTA in the thumbnail ? This is promising.
That’s all it takes for me to click.
It has best sound out of all hatchbacks.
And what an interesting video it was!
No Leon Cupra R??
Mk4 Golf R32
Keep making these kind of videos!
They're quite superficial and inaccurate often
No mention of the Megane R26. The car that started to FWD hot hatch war on the ring?
I thought that too, by omitting the R26 this video lacks any credibility
Don't worry about the Boss (Audi S3) ffs
Man, I own the jdm civic ep3 R. Absolutely love it!!!

Sad Mazdaspeed3 (MPS) noises
I'm on my 2nd cooper s. ... Both are Great!! Series 1 cars are Keepers!!!
If the Clio V6 isn't allowed on the list then neither should a Mini with no back seats.
At least the minis engine was in the front 😂 where it should be in a hot hatch
Not having back seats is not the only thing that dismisses the Clio. The whole engine not being in the right place for example.

Very amateurish actually
Mazda Speed 3 ?
Exactly what I was thinking, sold here in the UK as the MPS
But the Clio V6 had a shelf, you could open the back and, shelf and that, know? Not a thing? No?
Nah I didn't think so either, but it's nice.

Where is the MG ZR 160 and the S3?
@@golru14 s3 is right up there as one of the best get rid of the Peugeot and the mini I say
If the hot hatch market was almost killed, only in the UK. And the UK is not the WORLD.

Ummm MS3!
No Rebault Meganes............

I smell Malaysia proton fanboyz here
106 GTI
The 106 was made in the 90s, still a great car though.
