Chef’s Night Out: Ink.

- Michael Voltaggio of Ink. takes his star-studded crew out on the streets of Hollywood where bowling competitions, enormous pork shanks and yards of beer rule the night. The evening ends with an epic sandwich-off and tattoos by Dr. Woo.
Mr. Top Chef Michael Voltaggio takes us out for a night in Hollywood with an appropriately star-studded crew, including Duff Goldman (Ace of Cakes, Charm City Cakes), Jeff Mahin (Stella Barra Pizzeria, Do-Rite Donuts), Zach Carothers (Portugal. The Man), Jason Rotramel (Rebel8), and Ink.’s chef de cuisine, Cole Dickinson.
The night kicks off at Birch, Brendan Collins’ new endeavor in the heart of Hollywood, for oysters, monkfish tikka masala, and pork shanks the size of a baby’s head. Next, we cruise over to The Spare Room at The Hollywood Roosevelt for craft cocktails and some intense bowling competition before crossing Hollywood Boulevard for arcade games and yards of beer at Dave & Buster’s. En route back Ink., Michael calls an audible and detours to Shamrock Social Club for a last-minute tattoo with renowned artist Dr. Woo. Filled with booze and adrenaline, the gang crowds into the kitchen at Ink. for a sandwich-off that puts all other food competitions to shame.

While some people might be put off by the sous chef not getting to join the guys out, have you ever seen a chef give his sous chef more praise on an episode of CNO? She would have taken that responsibility and high praise over a night out any day of the week.
+Brendan Sullivan True. Why should we hire you for the chef position? Plays this video. How soon can you start?
+Jou H You do realize in order to be a pastry chef you still have to take the same culinary courses any regular chef would right? The only thing that seperates pastry chefs from regular chefs is that they SPECIALIZE in baking
Who was a pizza maker? from what I understood they were all chefs :/
+Brendan Sullivan agreed.. and plus she got called out in front of the crew for the best sandwich !
anyone who is put off by sous chef not joining chef night out has no clue what it takes to run a restaurant
Michael Voltaggio will always be my chef crush
Dude loves his Sous, and heaps praise on her.
Gotta respect that.
I bet working for him is fantastic.
Been a fan of Michael Voltaggio for a while now, the dude can really, really cook, and he's incredibly creative. Seems like a genuinely nice guy, too. Great episode.
I'm a fan of the Voltaggio brothers. They were my favorites at Top Chef.
That sandwich-off was the best part. Soooo many quality ingredients that the possibilities were endless.
damn this guy just pulls out the ace of cakes outta nowhere lol
whats with the audio, did somebody spill ink on the mics
+Gagan Maur too bad audio was terrible :(
+Gagan Maur why would ink be your first guess? I would guess tzatziki or beer before ink.
+Gagan Maur I should've checked the comments before i went and checked all my audio cabels and headphones :( i thought it was me!
+Gagan Maur Sounds like it's recorded through a kazoo. :C
the "watery" sounding shots were obviously done on a passive on-board mic, so either they forgot their little lapel or boom mics, or they weren't working during that shot but worked during all the others.
that monkfish looked brilliant
Best thing on there and the most descent portions.
Dude this Portugal The Man band blew up, cool to see hum in a video 4 years old.
one of the best episodes yet. unlike most, the lack of pretension was noticeable...and appreciated.
The best episode so far
i really liked this episode!
hade like everything.
interesting people
natural approach
just fun
well explained
and a nice finish off
*slow claps
Finally a night out that I as a normal person would have genially enjoyed without being drunk
poor Britney, she will never be enough to take over the restaurant, no matter how many banana sammiches she makes.
+tototyxxx Wow, so deep man
+tototyxxx "Leave Britney alone!" man, seriously
Awkward moment when she's part owner now...
I've always respected Michael, and this episode defitely reenforces said respect. It was a really great, down to earth episode. Best group by far
"something has to happen with this bone" LOL
Michael Voltaggio and Duff Goldman?? Some of my favourite people from the Food Network
When did Tony Hawk open this restaurant?
+Gmork Kudos...
+Gmork Thought the exact same!
best chefs night out I've watched so far. would love to hang out with these dudes
Portugal. The Man is having their moment right now!
Great Ep! Love Michael and Duff.
One of the best episodes.
Freaking Dr. Woo. The man, the myth, the legend. Damn I wish I had that deal with him. I would have no skin visible because I would have so many tattoos.
I love Michael Voltagio!
Effing love Michael voltaggio
that bar tender girl at the spare room .. damn ....
This one looked like the most fun. Lots of drinks, video games and good food.
This seems to be one of the few Chef's Night Outs where the chef seemed to keep his cool and didn't get completely shit faced by the end. Would love to see one with his brother. They probably would've gotten into a fight at the arcade.
That's crazy Homie; I need to watch the season of Top Chef with you in it; I knew you from the Chef from crossing Broders; you rocked in that show; love this munchies episode.
This is the best one so far.
Officially my new favorite episode of munchies!! Living life to the fullest with great friends, true happiness. Exactly how I plan on living my life! ✊🏻
Seven years later. How did it work out?

Michael Volataggio is the best! 👍
So that's Portugal the man..I followed the band's spotify randomly...and their music is wonderful.
murica... seemingly the country with the hottest chefs!
Chefs always seem to have hand tattoos.
I guess because they spend a lot of their working lives looking at them.
I respond to myself, so you don't have to.
The end.
Lev Myshkin

When you are a Sous and Chef hands you the reigns for the night, with no one looking over your shoulder, no higher complement.

Somehow I get the feeling his Sous Chef will be a future contestant on Top Chef
I've been to all the places they went to. I guess I know my way around LA well enough

least pretentious Chef's Night Out so far.

"[Duff's] outfit was pretty 'out there" lmao... or just the standard for guys from Baltimore's surrounding county's. Makes me wonder if he was from Pasadena or Glen Burnie...
2015 I liked this video its already 2020 jeez
So tattoos are a prerequisite to becoming a Chef
you should have called this episode "hot guys with tattoos"
👎🏼
+emberchord that nose piercing is awful thou...
Dennis Michalski so verbally insulting someone's appearance because you disagree with their opinion (one expressed very cordially by the way).. you must be a nice guy
I really like this channel only thing i don't like is everytime i watch a video i get so hungry
Fuck. I wasnt expecting Zach to come by. He's the bass of my favorite fucking band.
dr. woo!!!!!!
What's the name of the bald guy with the goatee and the Ravens shirt during the ending sandwich off? I've seen him on a show before, but I'm high as shit and can't remember.
this is the type of restaurant you will break your bank and then order takeaway from mcdonalds
This dude said the bowling alley is not a place for him? He’s literally the hipster type “look I moved to California”transplant that’s made for places like that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@3:28 Birch MUNCHIES :D
is it just me or is the audio during the interviews of Michael in his restaurant sounding weird?
