People thinking of going calgary please do not fall for trap without having job first. It is hard finding jobs in calagary and highest inflation in all of canada. It is very expensive to live in calgary and very hard finding even low skill jobs and more chance winning lottery than finding skilled job. Calgary is only good if you are construction worker or something like plumber. Dont watch these videos to hear what you want to hear. Look at videos of 100s of peoples lining up for few jobs at warehouse

Me and my wife are in Saskatoon and planning to move to Calgary as this city have limited jobs. Got fair idea about expenses. But what would you say. Your 6500 cad per month expenses are average or on either lower/higher side of average in Calgary?

Check our monthly expesne video before that when we were in rent and calculate your expense. Also check only google how much you will get inhand after tax.

This salary is fine enough for a family of husband ,wife ,2 kids if you are renting.
You will be getting $3000 biweekly in hand after all deductions . . So in a 2 biweekly if u are only working, $6000.
Rentals in sw/se for a 2bhk 2 bathroom will be &2000 including parking.
$800 for grocery
$800 car emi
$250 car insurance
$20 for tenant insurance for renting
$100 for internet and bill
$180 for gas
if u have 2 kids u will be getting approximately $750 as child care benefit if kids less than 7 yrs
If both are working only go for owning home, because u will pay only
