- 5 Scary New Car Features We All Hate! A Fool is easily parted with their money. Someone who truly aspires to build wealth shouldn’t feel afraid to call out very blatant obvious money grabs. Pay to use your heated seats, even though your car already has heated seats. Pay a Yearly Subscription to use your Navigation System, even though it’s literally already installed in the car. Next thing you know, they’ll make it where your door won’t even open unless you insert 50 bucks into it. It’ll just have a Vending Machine Dollar inserter, or a Credit Card Reader. I bet you if it breaks, the dealership won’t fix it either, you’ll have to pay to fix it, to then pay to your use your car.
In the near future, Key Fobs will have 0 use anymore, other than to remind the buyer of the false pretense of owning the car, when in actuality, the car owns them. It’s just an agreement to rent out a vehicle that is truly owned by the Dealership and Manufacturer. I hope Kit Cars will still be legal in the future because if companies keep pre-installing these garbage features OR shove the subscriptions down our throat, then boy am I just going to build my own car at that point. You’d think all these simple shaped, boring looking kitchen appliances would be easier to fix, but they have a distinct lack of body panels. The Artists call this design clean, but to the Consumer it’s absolute hell. How do we fix our own dang car?

Waiting for the day car companies start putting loot boxes in cars. Spend 50 bucks to maybe unlock the ac or get duplicates for indicators

I hate the lane keep assist feature. If you need help staying in your lane, why should you have a license? That’s all.
My insurance went up by $120 due to the number of accidents increasing in my area. I called and asked how I can lower my premium and they told me that if I installed a vehicle tracker that detected my speed that it’ll lower back down. I told them no and that I’ll be going with a different insurance company. Like I’m not giving up my freedom to enjoy my sports car and I shouldn’t have to pay higher due to how other people’s bad driving.
Imagine getting "cancelled" on social media and having your car turned off for it
Not allowing people to use the car they actually bought, and then you can't have them repaired it's just stupid
The direction car design is going is actually scary. Even just the aesthetic design. It’s a move towards a more corporate design, it basically reinforces the “ideal future” where people get up, go to work, and go home all with a smile on their faces. Aka: corporate drones

We need to boycott companies that do this. The only reason car companies are doing this is because they think people will just accept it. Fight back, let them know that we won't accept it. We should also write to politicians to pass laws against paywalling in appliances/cars. Im okay with paying subscriptions for streaming, but not on my car.
Soon people are gonna buy old cars because of stupid subscriptions
Nah you're not alone in this. A lot of this is horrible. People who think that companies won't do anything or everything they can to increase their income at your expense are fools.
For the subscription thing, some states (or at least mine) already made them illegal. So long as the function costs nothing to the manufacturer post sale, like heated seats.
It is funny that you mentioned riding bikes in the subscription bit yet KTM deactivates the heated grips, quick shifter, cruise control and a couple extra things on their motorbikes after a couple hundred miles and unless you go back and pay another grand to reactivate them you can't use the parts that are already installed on the bike. So yeah, even bikes heading into that direction
When I first saw a video of a Tesla being opened remotely from the dealership to be repo’d, I was immediately horrified. People always said “oH jUsT MaKe yOuR pAyMeNtS” neglecting the fact that this could be abused by bad actors trying to steal your car. Imagine someone pretending to be you, they have your info and only connect to an agent through live chat and suddenly they get access to your car. It’s become insane how little control we have over the things we buy now a days.
It would be ridiculous if someone has to wait one month just to change tires

Don't forget about that horsepower subscription Mercedes is doing on their electrics. Not long now till you only get 1/4th of the listed horse power until you pay for one of the multiple subscription packages
The worst part about paywalling is that I'm sure some people are actually gonna do it just to flex it, then companies will see that there are idiots out there and just keep doing it

You're exactly correct with many of these. This is a reason why many people hate on EVs: It's not the EV part they hate, they just hate the nickel-and-diming aspect of it.
