I saw Brandi Carlile and The Secret Sisters live last night (they opened for her, but I had never heard of them before) and these are the remarks one of the sisters made before playing this song. It was something along the lines of: "This next song is the one from its album that our record label really pushed to be the "radio song," the song they would try to get played on actual radio stations. And it did actually get picked up by several stations, including one station in Nashville, Tennessee that happens to be the favorite radio station of the butthole that this song is about. So I like to imagine him driving down the road, listening to his favorite radio station, and suddenly hearing this song come on. And the song is somewhat specific, so I'm quite confident that if he does hear it, he'll know exactly who sings it and who it's about." And with that she went right into the song which begins "Davie White..." and the entire audience burst out laughing. I certainly like to believe that the person it's about really is named Davie White.
So, Laura & Lydia, He's Fine is an exceptionally wonderful tune. I live in Nashville, and would be very interested in knowing which radio station your song is being played on. I don't tune in to the country stations...that may be why? Is there an Americana station I am unaware of? Thanks!!
I literally heard of the Secret Sisters for the first time 15 minutes ago then I looked on YT and found this video. It took me all of 5 seconds after they started singing to know this is one of my new favorites!
So 6 years later, I’m having the same experience after watching a BC video talking about how she worked with them. I’ve watched only a few videos, but I’m loving them as much as BC, NG, and of course Indigo Girls ❤
To this day, I cannot listen to this song without getting chills or tearing up. Look at the reactions of the folks in the control room in the video... that's how I feel every time I hear this amazing song, and these amazing women.

A fellow First Aid Kit fan! I like them both but for different reasons. I think the Secret Sisters are a bit mellow but First Aid Kit has more character.
Heard them on the local college station that I listen to despite being 60 years old, and Shazamed it. This is why I listen to indie stations, I doubt you would hear this at all on commercial stations. I'm pretty sure the modern country stations wouldn't touch it, even though it is country.
Love the image of them leaving the stage at Red Rocks holding their hearts. That must have been a thrill for them. Can't wait to see them in KCMO next month.
this song was playing on wxpn my local member supported radio station in philly. i'm a unmarried gay dude with no connections to this story but by the 3rd hearing when the harmonies go up near the end and then the final repeat of the chorus i felt punched in the gut. and just now as i let the stinging in my eyes become tears i realize this is gonna be one of those songs that make me cry each time i hear it. i joined the station yesterday
Those beautiful Everly Brothers harmonies! When I was a teen, I usta add the top third to songs on the radio. Now my two daughters and I do three part vids on FaceBook...and these Secret Sisters are wonderful!
I am so glad Brandi Carlile was a fan and kept the sisters doing music. I took my musical teen daughter to hear them in a small venue in Portland, Oregon a couple of years ago. She loved their sound and their take-no-shit attitude. We have tickets to enjoy them as musical moms this spring. They are special women.
I kicked in a few bucks to help crowd fund this project and am knocked out by the finished product. Great songs, excellent production by Brandi Carlisle and the Hanseroth Twins.
So proud to see Brandi and the Twins paying it forward with these 2 lovely ladies. It was a pleasure to see you all share the stage and I hope there are more opportunities to

Wow are they using a Coles 4038 ribbon mic on vocals at 2:06 or do my eyes deceive me? I didn't know they were still used that way very much. Whatever they did it worked because the vocals on this track are amazing.

Played this song on top of Man On Fire by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros... Same song, they line up perfectly and honestly sound so good on top of each other
This is an amazing song and it might be your best yet. I've been a fan since your first album and you keep getting better with every song. Keep up the great work I'll see you in Chicago.
The only radio station I can pick up at work is the local college affiliated one and it's played this song twice in two days. Very catchy and very Brandi Carlisle-inspired production. Which is a good thing.
I was listening to "The Wailin' Jenny's" on Spotify and wound up hearing this song. My ears immediately perked up. Wow, what a lucky break. You girl's are awesome. I've listened to most everything you've recorded today. My favorites are He's fine, Tennessee River, Silver, and Mississippi.
This song is my entire life. I saw you on stage seems like years ago. I don't remember where. Y'all were nervous, but amazing. I'm back in Nashville, and I heard this on the radio. I knew I'd heard you before. It's saving me right now. Thank you.
Ah YES, success is such sweet revenge! The Secret Sisters have been blessed with beautiful voices, along with the ability to write beautiful lyrics to compliment them❣
Love these ladies - And Brandi!! I've seen them open for Brandi a few times and I encourage anyone to go so a show. Exceptional talents and really funny from the stage...
Wow...heard this on my local radio station and ran home and googled them and seeing brandi in the video is just icing on the cake!!!!!! simply amazing.....
I love this song and I love the sisters, but why in the world do we see so much of Brandi Carlile in it? Even if she does some accompanying and I think she produced it, it's not her song but she showcases herself. This is not in good taste. I really like her music too, but let the sisters have the spotlight when it's their song, and they do it so beautifully.
Funny how things happen. David Crosby passes away and, as I'm looking at all the tribute postings on-line, somebody mentions the Joni Mitchell channel on Spotify. I head there and find this gem, along with another Secret Sisters song, equally good. Now I find myself sitting here, playing along on my six string (capo 3), absolutely loving it. Don't get me wrong - I wish The Croz was still alive, but something good can come out of something awful.
Love this song and the Secret Sisters so much. Just noticed they're using a Coles for vocals at 2:07, along with a u87 maybe? I didn;t know Coles were used for vocals much anymore. Whatever they used it works like crazy.
I really, really like the Secret Sisters. Beautiful singing, beautiful arrangements. But, while the production is pretty good in terms of appearing to "capture the moment," it really doesn't do that at all. We seldom see the individual sisters actually performing. Leaves me wondering if they're hiding something underneath their great performance. Still, it's a great video.
Gorgeous, love this, such a nice mellow vibe. I'm an indie singer/songwriter, recently uploaded my first video on my UA-cam page. The encouragement has been really nice.
love them saw at the grand ole opery when they first started out met them a few times they are very humble great to see them back after a break while one of them had a baby glad they are now in control of the music and what music they produce hope to see them again soon
Loved all of your performances on Tønder Festival. Waauw. I am so happy to have had the experience to see you live at the Bolero tent , the concert and the interwieve with Alex Nyborg Madsen and Søren Rebe ,and Womens Circle 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Do you know I just love these girls. WHAT VOICES. Sitting here on the Isle of Man I have all their albums. So glad theve gone back to their pure roots. So proud of you both - you make me VERY full of every emotion when I listen to your voices. I'm singing away at the top of my voice with ya. x
This goes to show that if you are a singer /songwriter and you want your songs on the radio, have Brandi Carlile work with you on it. Well done ladies. That is a beautiful song with a beautiful musical arrangement.
Wow no words... touched my soul.
I wish more people would sing like this. Pure, no trendy affectations. Beautiful voices!

Amazing...love the song and a great video. Looking forward to the rest of the album...hats off to Brandi Carlile for the great production!
I like the part where she's fangirling over the lyrics.

Rea; American answer to First Aid Kit - great harmonies, original music.
Ted Goldenberg although I prefer First Aid Kit, these guys still slay

Your right Dan, i live in NJ with 1 country station and they wouldn't play it even though it's better than 99% of what they play.
and by 99, you mean 100
Same. Had to know who it was. Local radio plays them. I just looked up Davey white.
Love the image of them leaving the stage at Red Rocks holding their hearts. That must have been a thrill for them. Can't wait to see them in KCMO next month.
So, so good. Thank you Brandi for helping these immensely talented (and original for these days) ladies further their careers. We are so grateful!

Sorry to hear about your affliction (attraction to members of your own sex).
I just told my bf "this is our new favorite song". Effing beatiful. I'm going to give you 1000 views because I'm just replaying it over and over.

I am so inlove with roots right now I'm crying as I listen to this song for the 100th time today.
He's not fine. He's a douche.
This one of the most beautiful and emotional songs ever written. My heart breaks for more from the Secret Sisters. You are truly magnificent.

Where did these lady john prines come from? Holy moly.
Anything involving Brandi Carlile is OK by me.
I love what happens at 3:24 ..... WOW
Like I said...goosebumps!!! Awesome song!
Richard Kimball I just heard this song. I didnt know it was her. Of course I like it
you took the words right out of my mouth. heard this song yesterday. Heard Brandi all over it

This album is going to be epic! This is a fantastic song, these two can do no wrong.
That song is amazing, I like every sentence, the history, the melody... thanks for creat this masterpiece
I listen to mostly reggae, thrash metal, and old rock. I love this tune.
This song is perfect, and exemplifies excellence in Country music. I love the Sisters, and highly anticipate their new record in 2020.
Sounds like Man on Fire by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Love them!

@The Secret Sisters could you credit John Prine for a co-write? The melody is almost the exact same as that from “All the Best”

Wow 👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏿👏🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍😍😍😍
This song and album are unbelievably good.
Çok da şey yapmamak lazım genç kızlar. Boş verin şarkı bile yazmaya değmez.
What a song. I'm really really looking forward to seeing you in Colorado August Folks Fest

Goose bumps. Yowzer.
These two are so good!!!Love to hear them in concert!!
This is really good.
Gorgeous, love this, such a nice mellow vibe. I'm an indie singer/songwriter, recently uploaded my first video on my UA-cam page. The encouragement has been really nice.
Maggie Adams from Foxes & Fossils sent me here. Even better, she apparently worked with the Sisters.
love them saw at the grand ole opery when they first started out met them a few times they are very humble great to see them back after a break while one of them had a baby glad they are now in control of the music and what music they produce hope to see them again soon
I hate country music. Seriously.
I love this so much.
They are beyond genres.
