Great idea and set-up. Come a long way since the days when I had a heat exchanger (Helton) plumbed-up to the Patrols diesel engine and had to use one of those goddamm pop-up shower/toilet tents.....but it worked and, like you, we used a 20 litre bucket of water, cycled it through until it was at the right temp, then switched the engine off. You'd never expect that we could shower 3 kids and ourselves in that amount of water. We achieved that by tipping the 20 litres into a Nally tub so most of the water was being recycled. I always had the last shower....kids first, then missus, then me.....and bugga me if I didn't get to have the longest shower, because I didn't have be conservative!!! hahaha
The availability is almost nil in Brisbane, and at one point there was none in Australia through Anaconda. I had to replace my first one under warranty, but couldn't get one fron Anaconda, had to wait until stock came in, but BCF got them in before Anaconda. So, I have a new one now, and I have only tested it at home so far, the first one didn't work after the test, but this new one is good. They are a brilliant thing, and your setup is brilliant too! Might have to change my setup idea now lol. Cheers m8
Bloody fantastic set up bro. About to buy an awning ensuite right now. How do you go about capturing the grey water and storing for disposal when required?
Not a fan of running a gas appliance inside a canopy, fumes etc, also the other issue aside from potential water spray entering the canopy is it will leave a nice wet spot right in a main walking area. The concept of these showers are good but having them on a fold out bracket to pivot it out and away from the canopy. A cheaper and more compact option is just one of the companion shower pumps and just heat the water via a fire/cooktop. Works exactly the same but 1/6th the cost, no extra gas bottles needed and arguably more reliable
We can’t always use fire in some parks so gas or electric would be your only option in those places. The swing out arms don’t move the shower out enough in my experience to even make the slightest difference of water being on the ground.
Hey mate, I’ve got the same shower. I’ve had it for a little while now and have made a few little mods to it. I watched this when you first released it and just wanted to know if you’ve done any mods since. Cheers mate jd

Hope you didn't go with the Joolca. I switched to this...mine is called a Kakadu. Love it super solid, consistent, and hot.

Bloody fantastic set up bro. About to buy an awning ensuite right now.
How do you go about capturing the grey water and storing for disposal when required?
Na I don’t get the grey water, most places I stay it’s ok on the ground. I use organic only soaps to
Good video mate thanks.
nice! love the review was looking at this model at annaconda. thanks bud
Another go set up
Great shower mate
I guess it could also be used to wash up the dishes as well 😃
Yeah absolutely you could, I didn’t think of that 😄👍🏼
Do you know if you can use an external pump. Like a 6lpm that you could pump from a creek etc?
Im not sure I have tried that. But I just use the bucket 🪣
Nice Bro
The coolest rig cheers
Thanks Barry 😎👍🏼
Been considering this companion for a while, but just wish you could fit it in a jerry can and not need to use a bucket.
My mate made a mod with the plug on the bottom of a Jerry can few fittings from Bunnings and pumps now mounted that way. 😎👍🏼
Any chance of a video on this. I have the companion but the pump doesn't fit in the Jerry can.
Plus one on this I can’t find a Jerry that fits either be keen to see what your mate did.

How’s it going a year down the track ?
Great mate ! Still working
Can you actually pressure feed it from the water tank other than using the supplied pump?
I’m not 100% sure I think the unit needs it own pump but I haven’t tried it
How solid is the shower the way u have it mounted. Does it move around on the tracks?
It’s never moved, been great

Hey mate, no it's still the same in the truck. I haven't needed to change it up, its working well.
does it remember your settings when you power it on/off? and can you run salt water thru it?
I think it does from memory, no I wouldn’t put salt water in it
How long a gas bottle last fella?
I had to use it when I renovated my bathroom at home. I got I think about 2 weeks worth of showers out a little gas bottle mate.
@@TyFenwick bloody hell that’s good🤘🇦🇺🔥🍻
