Hi Carlos - sorry for the delay in replying and thanks for writing to me all the way from Uruguay - what a treat to be listened so far away. Many thanks for the kind comments and I hope you continue to enjoy the music. Love, luck and light from Belfast. Anthony

I've listened to this song 100 times. Heard it first on Gerry Anderson. It encapsulates an era. Whatever inspired Anthony I don’t know but he got it and delivers it powerfully

I've loved this song for a long time.. Play it at work and love to watch the diners faces when the lyrics register with them. If I was a song writer this is the sort of lyrics I'd be proud of"Elaines mother thinks I'm some kinda crook - she meets me at the door with a dirty look......." Love it!

Catchy tune with brilliant lyrics that sum up some of the angst and reality for an upper teen lad growing up in and around the docks of what remains of Sailortown. Has to be one of your best songs and also one of the most poignant Belfast songs ever. Well done! Excellent!

The loss of the community from that part of the city is an emotional scar that can probably never be healed. But... some lovely things are happening in Sailortown again, thanks to the renovation of St. Joseph's Church on Princes Dock Street, and the success of the American Bar. The green shoots are starting to come up through the concrete again.

New Andrew Street, New Dock Street, Marine Street and Ship Street. Alice Grogan, Gerard Grogan, Brian O Neil.#, James McCafferty, Thomas Stewart, Jim Breen, Carol Breen, Peter Ward, Pat O Dwyer and so many more. The Fire station. Great times, great community and a better place to live.

Was out for a wee dander with my dog yesterday and walked around Sailortown , past the Rotterdam and remembered this lovely wee song ( and the Energy Orchard tune ) , loved it when Gerry Anderson played it regularly . It’s a shame about the decaying Rotterdam , wish someone would Urban Renew it ( but not too much ) it was a crackin wee spot years ago along with Pats

Hey Tim - it's hard to know what to do next about a place like the Rotterdam... it's hard to know whether it's too late. It was such an iconic place, just full of memories. But many good things are happening in Sailortown, thanks to the Regeneration Trust and the renovation of St. Josephs, the ongoing success of the American Bar, etc.

Hi Anthony, heard this for the first time last night. My friend is a session drummer and he introduced me to this.
I think its the best I've heard in a long time.
Good luck on a very successful career.
    Anne.

Thanks Mark - I've been out of touch for a while, so forgive the long delay in replying. I really appreciate your comments. I used to do the American accent thing, but it made me sound like too many other people. It took a while to get used to, though... It seems like second nature now.

Hey there - thanks for the brilliant comment! That was one of the first times I ever had the guts to sing in my own voice. I figured - how could you NOT sing in your own accent when the song's about Belfast?? Anyway, welcome to the journey - and you can find out more about live dates, albums etc at the website. All the best, Anthony

Tony - apologies for the long-delayed reply. I owe an enormous amount to Gerry, for the support he showed me with this song and a few others. He was a major figure in promoting and supporting musicians from Northern Ireland, and he is hugely missed.

Hey, good show at Groomsport last night Anthony.
( I was the idiot called out for Marion).
Why they let covers bands headline over new and original talent beats me, but that didn't stop me or my son's enjoyment. And as RM said when I was chatting to him, one day soon...
