To see Johnny Flynn perform one of his most beautiful songs on the most important commemoration in the western world is giving me shivers. 'Sadness for the ones who walked before me'. ❤

This is so subtle and I commend the guy(s) who made the decision to have a "folksinger" sing solo - instead of something loud and brassy.

Having a folk troubadour sing a beautiful song in a backdrop of cement and before a crowd of old men wearing medals seems so incongruent - - a better way to honor those fallen soldiers is to have a folk singer singing that beautiful song in front of a field of people with children and old people and multi ethnic people enjoying life.

Not agreeing here. It was what it was - and it trod gently over those old mens' memories.

These "old men wearing medals" are the ones who saved us from the horror of the Nazis, so it might be nice to show some respect. And "the background of cement" is the British Normandy Memorial where the fallen are honored in a beautiful way.
