Listening to this on the 80th anniversary of D-day. May we remember and honor their sacrifice.
My great grandfather fought and died at the battle of the bulge. He is a true hero. He died so I could be free, the people who complain about this country know not what they went through for us.
God bless these brave men. I could not even imagine what it was like to be in the boat.

Most Americans don’t realize it because that same oligarchy controls the media. Even the once righteous Democratic Party is bought off resembling nothing like the Democratic Party of FDRs time. And the American people have been manipulated into a worker bee zombie state. Reaping little of the fruits of their labor because it all goes to the wealthy stockholder class. The oligarchy. We are just put in a hamster wheel to churn out even more wealth for the ruling class. Condemned to debt slavery because we have been blinded and dumbified , drowning in a sea of mainstream media oligarch propaganda. Given bread and circuses to keep us in that state.

This is a reminder of the brave men that gave their lives in World War II in the fight against evil and suffering they did not cower in fear but they stood strong against the Nazi regime after that we should be truly grateful the memories of these men shall stay fresh in our hearts for generations to come... Amen.
When that door drops on the boat I couldn’t imagine how scared I would be
Boats often were being fired at before the soldiers even stopped out, it’d be a miracle to make it out of the boat let alone live to see another day
Well they open before they even got to shor you would have probably drowned
The miracle was the fact that they took the beach
The miracle is that such men lived that regardless of being fired at once the door dropped they still ran forward. Men I can only dream to be! Heroism for a people they had never met before! God bless them!

What a prayer. This really makes me feel about what had happened back then. If there is ever another world war, I’m answering the call to arms. This address has inspired me to do anything. Thank you men and women in green. I support you guys.
My late father was a rifleman in the 29th division. He went ashore on Omaha Beach on D Day plus 1. The Beach was still under fire. He lasted until August 10th, when he almost lost his right leg from a German artillery shell. RIP Dad. Thank you.
I only heard the shorter version until now, its a great prayer, like a poem. Roosevelt had a lot of class
I see clips here from the film "The Best Years of Our Lives" that had a real WWII veteran who had an amputation. My parents called this to my attention to understand their time. It was about how it was to return to civilian life after a big wartime period.

My dad had wanted me to hear FDR's voice in the "fireside chats" of WWII when we visited his home in New York state. My dad was in WWII, but really clear about protesting the undeclared war in Vietnam.

If we don't stand up against aggressive, authoritarian tyrants, we will not be able to ensure the peace we have enjoyed for nearly a century. We are watching history unfold. I hope that the goodness in humanity will prevail.

Historians rank FDR as our third greatest president, but for me he is my favorite. America was blessed with 3 great presidents in a row. FDR, Truman, and Eisenhower. It all kind of went downhill after them.
