    The financial collapse. Eddie played his part.
    HUNDREDS of investors who pumped €13m into the Eddie Hobbs-fronted Brendan Investments Pan European Property plc (BIPEP) have been left with just a single boarded-up house in Detroit valued at just €7,000 and €29,000 in a bank account.7 Dec 2017

    Yes there were technical issues... but for me this was your best podcast so far... congrats on helping to raise the veil and highlight the irish governments and world governments agenda of control and violence against its own people.

    Eddie, please note that almost 40% of Ireland's electricity is from renewable wind etc. Fantastic!

    I'm loving the podcasts,have listened to them all,I have 1 problem..in the land of podcast world scheduled Spotify releases matter..it will literally make or break a good podcast. This matters hugely..if I'm cutting the grass on a Saturday..I know which podcast iv lined up..if I drive to work on a Wednesday ..I know the podcast iv lined up. I know it might seem petty but people look forward to a podcast at a certain time in a week. I say this with respect to the only man in Ireland who could smoke a Benson in the shower. Fair play folks.much love

    While Eddie is right the returns can be higher with equities, the Irish government taxes realised profits from them quite high (33% CGT) and even higher for ETF investors (41% exit tax). The landscape is not investor friendly so to speak. But investing is important and should be spoken about more, particularly passive long term ETF investing.

    David !!! Big fan of the podcast !!! Best if you can't get a guest there in person to just stick with the family banter and wait until the desired guest can appear in person. Great idea for an episode, this. But would've loved to actually see and hear Eddie in the studio !!

    I love this Podcast and all the gang . I don’t think David listens to anyone 😂😂😂. Hanna has unbelievable patience. I don’t think Eddie understood the humor and seemed to begetting pissed off they couldn’t operate a zoom call😂. David has an unbelievable knack of interrupting just as the guest is getting to the crux of the story then he changes the subject to something stupid like the microphone isn’t in someone’s face probably and the story ends up lost to the mists of time . He didn’t figure out Eddies a bleeding nut either.

    In the words of John Duffy…..Ah Jaysus….Very confused by this. Absolutely love this podcast David, Hannah and princes Jack and Daniel but Jaysus. I’ve only skipped through the episode but the whole thing is very very serious. It’s difficult to escape the politicisation of everything these days so it’s a pity that this safe silly space was a platform for more of it. Just wanted to give my honest feedback. Others might have enjoyed it. Love the podcast and your work David. Thanks for the laughs.

      I would normally agree with you as I love to get a break from serious issues too. But Ireland is in serious trouble. Everyone should be talking about it and doing something about it. Im not a bit political, I cant abide politicians. But im absolutely shocked that the whole of Ireland is not up in arms!! We are losing our precious country.

    • @donalokeeffe6693
      @donalokeeffe6693 Місяць тому +7

      @@theresilientspud I think I get what the sentiment is, but what is it that you mean by ‘we are losing our country?’ Genuinely interested to understand what you mean. I think every country, Ireland included is changing but in my mind, that’s what countries do. Change, evolve, adapt. Ireland isn’t the same as it was in the 1950s because the world isn’t the same as the 1950’s. I’m as worried as anyone about the state of the country and the world but I don’t necessarily want to ‘make Ireland great again’ because it’s not the postcard image that we sell to the tourists. Never was. I love the country but just like people, there is always space to improve. Anyway, we all have different points of view and that’s great.

      This is a fantastic episode and I like the way David is opening the show to different guests. David's a man in his late 50's with lots of life experience ..do you think that everyone has to be guffawing away all the time? People who do that are morons.

    David, I really appreciate you connecting with Eddie .. You're my favourite comic (you're more than a comic) and Eddie is a real treasure. I was shocked and delighted to see that Eddie was your guest today. I didn't think that with your family's background you wouldn't want to go there with an outlier like Eddie .. You have seriously gone up in my estimation. Lots of GEN Xers think that no one can touch you when it comes to satire. I don't even know any Irish comedians who have the steel balls that you have. Its original, you're original. It's cool to have different tones to the show .. it doesn't always have to be rip-roaring comedy .. i like you mixing it up. I like the way you play devils advocate on this particular podcast. I truly believe that you will be extremely successful in years to come, bigger than you ever were.

    Eddie it’s a bit of an insult to say anyone who has made money through property and construction isn’t entrepreneurial . You’ll have to exclude some of the hugely successful property developers and investors from this slight …. I myself have been in construction and property full time my whole working life and created housing and commercial accommodation for hundreds of people and carefully acquired property that will produce rental income for the next 100 plus years long after we are all gone , that is entrepreneurial!!!

    Ah David, I’ll see you next week bud. Love the podcast and the unique and powerful dynamic you have with every member of your family, but Eddie’s a right wing grifter that’s jumping on the anti immigrant bandwagon lately because it’s profitable, bitta bigotry for clicks.

    • @scottblack9213
      @scottblack9213 Місяць тому +8

      You're missing the point .. if you think someone who's discussing history, natural resources, financial changes in the world, water protests, the Jesuits etc is in any way shape or form a grifter. Eddie is saying that the Irish don't own our natural resources. I think you'd be better off going to a Pat Shortt stand up.

      Ah yes, because it's really lucrative to go against the acceptable narrative within most sponsorship opportunities. How many people have benefitted from taking a more honest line of things about the changing nature of European nations? Almost none.

    Would've been great to hear the rest of Eddie's thoughts on the plandemic. The podcast was far too short. Honestly, it was an insult to Eddie's study of the topics at hand. Please, please ask him to come back on. Very few people in Ireland have studied these matters to the extent that he has, and have the public confidence to communicate their knowledge so clearly. This was basically a podcast which was just continuously interrupted. I would love to hear David and Eddie talk through all of these topics thoroughly.
