Bro thanks for doing this. I just got in to a new field of work (electrician) an wanted to get this for my back pack that has a built in outlet for Cells. Just an over kill so I wouldn’t have to worry about need for more power. Knowing this now Ill wait an see if they do the recommendations you said an if not forget about it like my old job. Your awesome for this.
We had (4) of the older Sherpa 50's, we've used them through hell and back on so many trips and they kept on working! We liked them b/c they could be used with the Light-A-Life 350 lanterns which was perfect for inside of the tent and around the campsite. We sold them all on eBay and upgraded to the new Sherpa 100 ACs that just came out (we bought 4 of them during the last REI 20% off sale). We were absolutely SHOCKED to find out that the new Sherpas don't have the 6mm output jack for the Light-A-Life 350s we have. So now we can't use them for camping with the lanterns for the campsite and tents. We called Goal Zero to ask if they sold adapter cables, they said no. We asked why would they do this, they responded with the same thing you said, the Sherpa is not designed for camping anymore. We asked what are we supposed to use for camping now to power our Light-A-Life lanterns? They recommended that we go on Amazon or eBay and look for 6mm to USB adapter cables (which they discontinued) or 12V to USB adapter cables. We said that wasn't an acceptable solution b/c 3rd party aftermarket adapters are not reliable. They said sorry and hung up. Incredible.......Goal Zero released a new product that doesn't even work with their own lantern products which they advertised as being designed to be used with the Sherpas. I am truly dumbfounded and we are kicking ourselves for selling our older Sherpas. These new Sherpas are not for camping anymore, the older ones were superior. Goal Zero seems to be going in reverse
@GillesQuennevilleGQ u must live somewhere way up north. It don't take but 30 45m not hrs. I just got off phone w customer service tho and he saying for the 100pds at least the heat don't damage them just shut them off temporarily like a phone. That works for me. Mine is defunct off the bat tho, need a replacement. Crazy part is the first one I bought that got stolen also was defunct seemingly cause the screen never lit up to show anything like this one as well. Two defuncts in a row. Hard to believe. Rei must be slamming their boxes around or sm. Pretty strange, and frustrating
Love my old Sherpa 50 and 100. They haven't failed me. I have had my eye on the newer versions but this video will make me think twice now. Thanks!

That sucks! How are the new Shepras? Worth buying? Sadly not to much options on the market...
