Started with the 56mm when it came out, then 13mm, and finally 75mm and 27mm. The last three are phenomenal ! Viltrox was one of the reason I decided investing in the X mount. .
Thank you very much. I don't use any recipes as I only shoot RAW. All photos in this review have been edited with my own presets in Lightroom pavsz.com/shop/
Looks terrific. Only its weight and lack of linear motor stop me changing my Fuji 33mm f1.4 to it. (I know the Viltrox's stepping motor still autofocuses really well - but just not quite as crisply in Continuous autofocus mode, apparently, which is a mode I use a lot). Well, I also simply want to learn the 33mm (50mm equivalent full frame) as it's a classic focal length.
I have used both those lenses at the same time and for me Viltrox is better lens overall. It feels better and it delivers better results than the Fuji 33mm
Hey Pav, I just found out your channel. I really like the way you do your videos and it's great that you include the cutouts at the end. Thank you for making these :)
I just found one for $225 used in good condition. Hopefully it doesn’t have internal damage. If it shows up at my doorstep in solid condition, that will be such a great bargain!
40mm is of no use. 40mm not enough for wide angle & not good for portraits Totally wrong focal length for the Profational Has your wish 🤞 dear don't mind
@@aperture8983 there is enough photos in my review to prove that it is very good for portrait and everything else. You forgot to mention that it's not good for you. I've made it work. A lot of people use 35mm for portrait, this is in that range. Vary capable focal length
in real situations as wedding doesnt work well ( Have already tested on 2 weddings ) . Af is slow and inaccurate , even if camera ( xs20 ) tells you that focus is on an eye , but at the end at home culling photos you see that it was not
Mmm sounds like “user error” it works great for me and for anybody I know has the lens. I even shoot my kids who are far less still than wedding subjects and the af is accurate upon reviewing the shots. (Xt5 shooting on afc with tracking, and focus as priority)
@@jaegerschtulmann nope, you can even find some video on UA-cam where af accuracy in their test on a moving subject will be like 75%. But it’s more Fuji problem than Viltrox. We all shot different style , I know, but for true reportage this lens is slow and unstable, cuz motor is slow . For casual /home/portrait session , even for getting ready/ couple session on a weddding it still be fine. But when we use this lens in mixed light conditions , there will be a lot of disappointments
@@PavSZ You are wrong, my display is precisely calibrated. Take a close look at the skin tone in your own video where you demonstrate the video capabilities of this lens (timecode 3:05). Why is your fingers so yellow, do you smoke a lot? And is there a bruise in the center of your palm?
I have this lens and LOVE it. It’s one of the sharpest lenses I have ever owned including lenses from Sony, Nikon, and Canon full frame.
I love it too. I totally agree, great lens
Nice to see so many illustrative shots
Many thanks
I got two xt4's one with viltrox 27, other with viltrox 75mm. Perfect combination.
These new Viltrox lenses are simply outstanding

they are definitely making a mark on the market right now. I love these
GREAT photos-not all reviews have such great pics. Bravo!

It was a very good review, thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Nice review!

Just bought....here tomorrow. Nice video!

Hey Pav! Do you recommend it over xf 18-55mm for only lens for beginers?
it's a lens that is in a different class than 18-55. Fast, prime that is very good optically
@@PavSZ Thanks for response!

Awesome, thank you!
Nice review and samples. Btw bring back the stache it suits you!
thanks!
It's growing back
i am leaning to 23mm f1.4 LM WR but this lens make me want to see the comparison
I think it would compare very well - these Viltrox lenses are very well made
Nergal's portrait? Whoaaa
yep! cool guy
Was socked you had a picture of Adam “Nergal”🤘🏽
🤘🤘🤘
Nergal caught me by surprise

Very nice! fingers crossed
If I have a Fuji 33mm WR 1.4, is it worth it getting this lens or are they too close you think?
they are different. I think, personally, that this Viltrox is way better and sharper
Nergal!! 🔥
yes
Waiting for the Z-mount😛😛😛
yes, we all are
When would this lens be available for E mount you think?
No idea if it will be or not
I plan to get it. what do you think about the performance for the video, especially the focus breath
it works very well for video. Almost zero focus breathing. Watch the edges: 3:03
@@PavSZjust bought it😅 thanks sir
@@kaistudio8229 yes!!
Look at that young lookin face! Keep it! Love this lens btw
I need my beard back .... winter is coming
Would u suggest I get one if I take xe3??😂thanks
only you know if this focal length is good for you on your XT-3. I don't know your experience level, your style and needs.
Hi Pav 👋🏽
hi
Everyday lens if you are a bodybuilder
or not a wuss
No dout this is bast lens but fucl length is wrong an confusing 40 mm😅
why is it wrong? I don't personally like 35mm and 50 is often too tight, 41mm gives me something in between
40mm is of no use. 40mm not enough for wide angle & not good for portraits

40 mm good for casual photography not for professional work.
The 35 & 40 mm portraits & video look like 🥚
@@aperture8983 not true at all. It's how you use it
Get this lens and the 75mm f1.2 and than you can throw away the rest of your lenses😊
haha yes!
get a 13mm 1.4 also from viltrox and now you got a new trinity 😂

In my experience it works very well. What you are talking is a camera's issue not the lens. This works same as any Fuji own lens I have tested
@@PavSZ so sounds like every Fuji lens works bad like this Viltrox.

Why do people's faces look as if they are unhealthy, why do they have these coffee-yellow-purple hues on their faces?
is this a real question? maybe there is something wrong with your display
