Today we're making some expensive home decor for LESS for my next makeover! I've been eyeing these melted disco balls for a while now and I can't believe we were able to make it for just the cost of the mirror tiles!! Plus, I am making a wavy checkerboard tray with just scraps of wood I already had plus a fun 3D modern art piece.

The disco ball - ala' Salvador Dali! Love it! I am just amazed how you come up how to recreate a $22,000 piece of art using cardboard, packing paper, masking tape & paper machie' !
Love the wavy checkerboard.pattern! And, last, but not least, using tissue paper & Mod Podge to create/add texture! GENIUS! A little bit of cardboard, tissue paper and adhesive! WOW!
I either need to create one large or a " party of 4" for my living room wall. So easy & simple, yet so impacting! Maybe just create directly on the wall ... Hmm... getting my creative juices flowing!!!

As much as I love your reno DIY videos, I will admit your smaller DIY projects are my favorites. I was wondering if you could create some more classic art pieces that would fit into frames with glass. I would like to update some of the art work in my home without having to spend a lot of money. We have ordered some prints, but creating our own would save us so much!

Ok I’ve only fully watched the melting disco ball DIY and I’m in the middle of the checkerboard tray… but I just had to stop and say that you are such an inspiration!! Honestly I’m amazed every time you DIY something you see that you like but is crazy expensive… I consider myself pretty crafty… but I don’t think I could/would have come up with a way to make that melting disco ball and probably half the other things you have made. ❤

I loved the checkerboard tray most🌿 Don't worry about trying to find the style that defines your home because each home is unique as their owners are 💛 and rather than the "theme", all the little pieces you put with love actually defines your aesthetic, I love homes that have little bit of everything rather than ones that were arranged as a whole ❤
Creative spots are the best kind of Homey homes that give the Mind lots to imagine how it was achieved so much better then the so called Designed spaces who get their ideas from the Real creators like Us...that they copy and sell for high prices...look around everything designer is a remake of a creative Soul 😘🥰

I love the mirror ball, but I personally think it looks more like it's trying to pull itself onto the table then it's dripping off, it's the roundness. Awesome either way.

Wow, hadn't seen a collapsed disco ball before but it looks wonderful! I think the quirky tray is my fav. Used to paint trays with acrylic paint and couple coats of yacht varnish to seal. Loving your videos, tfs!

Love the disco ball! So sparkly and fun and I think it would add so much life to any space! Btw, you need some silicone fingertips for hot glue projects. I bought mine at dollar tree or you can get them on Amazon! I have saved my fingertips by using them! Keep creating! ☺️

I think my interior design style is 45% clean and white 25% casual artesian 20% Moroccan 10% scandi ?? Is that a thing ?
I like the clean white sofa /bed / drapes in the casual natural look of white linen and bleached jute rugs but love the white oak scandi dining and coffee tables with clean lines but have a passion for the Moroccan carved wood / rugs and the pillows and poufs made from them ; they look so nice against the white. And the artesian pottery goes nice with the Moroccan carved wood decor.

Depending on the size the extra large paint stir sticks from Lowes/Home Depot work great.

The disco ball turned out great! I love the last project because it feels like going back to your roots and feels much more approachable and realistic for someone like me who doesn’t have access to any power tools. Also, that wood frame you made was *chefs kiss* and the perfect finishing touch for the canvas art.

Dollar tree has these pink silicone finger caps that are great for hot gluing. Let’s you use your fingers to push materials together without getting burned.

You should invest in the Ryobi glue gun! I got me one this past spring! It has been a game changer! I paid $25 for the smaller glue gun at The Home Depot. I'm 65 yes old and have crafted for the past 40+ years!! Wish I would've invested in this hot glue gun years ago!

Disco ball could get a blob at the bottom looking like it actually melted and fell to the floor or onto another shelf, Especially if you're wanting your own spin on it...the tray is Great but could use handles & the picture needs more layers of tissue or even colored tissue paper on it for that more organic look but that's only if you wanted to take them all up a notch
However, Honestly except for the framed picture there perfect just needs more layers ..Ever think of making a leathered wall it's done with torn uneven brown paper bags then polyurethaned to keep bugs away ..ends up looking like a leathered wall>>.used to do sculptures with chicken wire ✓ flour ,salt, and water paste over the chicken wire then polyurethaned it !!
