- In this video we take a deep dive into the new chassis offerings for the Ruger American Ranch models by Sharps Bros.
Sharps Bros has produced their Heatseeker chassis for the Ruger American, Remington 700 and Savage 110 short actions, however all of those feed from AICS pattern magazines. Just launched is the new Ruger American chassis that feeds from MSR/AR magazines for your Ruger American models chambered in 223, 300 Blackout, 6.5 Grendel, 350 Legend and 450 Bushmaster.

Bro you're just a natural at giving information you don't skip a beat no pauses no "ugh" ! You do really good on these videos as I can imagine you do your research like we should! Great job! #SLAVGUNS
Why thank you. Your comment made my day.
I have it for my 450 Bushmaster and love it shoots a lot better than stock setup
Appreciate the content...thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Now I'm wanting a bolt gun in 7.62x39. Looks great
7.62x39 is great out of a bolt gun. Many ways to feed it in terms of mags, and great performance with both super and sub sonics. Great suppressed and still quite cheap and cheaper than 308. With quality ammo you can easily get 1 MOA. Terrific east coast hunting cartridge.
so my Ruger American ranch is in 7.62x39 but uses Ruger mini 30 mags
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Where can i get this chassis ?
www.slav.li/anarchyoutdoors has it. There is also a discount code for channel members.
@@SlavGuns thank you
Does this mean that the factory AR mags and any other AR mags will work with the chassis? Everything iv seen on the website says only uses AICS mags. Sorry uneducated Aussie here
With this new one, yes, AR mags work. The original chassis are AICS. =)
hi mate, great vid. are you aware of a Ruger American ranch chassis that is compatible with AK magazines?
found a bunch of AK 10 rounders at a swap meet sale, but im Australian, so an AK is out of the question haha
Nope, nothing yet. Unfortunately very few were sold and the new ones are now using AR style mags... so there is not a lot of demand for an aftermarket chassis for it. I would reach out to Sharps and see. Only other one I can think of is MDT.
The heatseeker is good but its not the lowest cost. By the time you buy a buffer tube and stock they are over $500. Can buy an ORYX for $430 and its ready to go.
Does MDT have one for the AR mags? or AICS only? Was not aware of AR mag version. Beyond that, Oryx is a good chassis, but I would still end up replacing the pistol grip and the stock stick requires spacers for adjusting LOP, which you do not have issues with picking a buffer tube of choice. Of course, you can also make it folding with an adapter which Oryx does not allow and for me, the enclosed foreend. Oryx is definitely a pretty good value, but many of the people who would want to upgrade, would want more variety... and why Oryx is not the dominant chassis across the board. =)
not sure honestly. The indian river mofo also is cheaper although it still requires a stock and grip purchase and it does except ar mags@@SlavGuns
How much do those builds weigh, or similar builds? I don't want a 12 pound gun with a 16 inch barrel.
Definitely not that heavy... unless you have a very heavy contour barrel and put on a very heavy stock and scope. I will throw one on myself in a new body. Take a look at the videos I did on the Ruger American one from last year. From what I recall, even mine was under 10 lbs with everything.
Its light way lighter than my MDT Oryx
I’ve been considering the sharp bros chassis for my Ruger American, but looking at some of your videos. I’m concerned that my 50mm optic with the sunshade on might interfere with the top of the handguard unless I use taller risers. Any idea what the minimum ring height for a 50mm optic would be to clear the guard?
So I already have a couple of videos with the regular aics chassis with my 6.5 Grendel American. Yes rail is there if with sunshade but 50mm may clear even with medium rings. Otherwise high rings should clear no issues. Or remove sunshade with lower rings? Let me verify when I get home
@@SlavGuns awesome thank you.
What type of buffer tube diameter please?
Milspec buffer tube.,
Are they making one to accept Ruger Mini 30 mags. I heard them mention ever chassis but that one.
I guess you could get one to use AR mags
There are Ruger American rifles that take Ruger Mini 30 mags? Or was that the very first gen 7.62x39? It would feed from 7.62x39 AR mags.... though I will confirm with them.
@@SlavGuns yeah the 7.62x39 takes mini 30 mags. If these aren’t compatible with Mini 30 mags you could just get a 7.62x39 AR mag and should be good to go. You can also get 7.62x39 run in several other mags as long as it’s not more than say 10 rounds. Once you start to stack 20 plus rounds into a mag the curve starts to cause feeding issues in mags not built for 7.62x39.
I'd rather get an MDT LSS Gen2XL for the price
Well, the MDT is $130 more.... $549 vs $436. Beyond that, I quite like the enclosed rail on the sharps myself. =) Both solid choices though.
@@SlavGuns I'm in Canada so the the MDT is $53 cheaper plus duty. It's $519.95 CAD ($383.74 USD) and during black friday week was 10% off that.
Nice chassis, utilizing the safety is horrible and needs update
It cost as much as the rifle and the rifle is already a sub -1 minute gun.
Way!! Over priced.
It’s in the low $400s before discounts, would not call that overpriced. Certainly puts it in the value category versus many offerings that are far more. Keep in mind this has full front rail as well.
Considering what you can buy a stripped lower and hand guard for it’s high
Same mag as my AR-15 is what sold me on the predator
for sure!
